I need to buy a good lotion/oil for my tummy

Any recommendations please??

best thing i´ve found is good old olive oil!.

I find bio oil too greasy, and it gets all over your clothes because it takes too long to soak in, i just use it at night now and when my bottle runs out i wont be gettting anymore.

I use cocoa butter from bodyshop, used it in last pg too and didnt get any stretch marks in that one so fingers crossed it works just as good this time!:haha:xx Oh and the cocoa butter smells yummy all day!!! xx

I'm using the asda mum to be belly cream and stretch mark oil. Smells good and no stretchies so far - and doesn't break the bank! You'll find it in the baby aisle

true bio-oil pretty greasy and very expensive but i know loadsa ppl who swear by it, and its amazing to put in ur bath, makes skin feel so soft and good for ur hair too! superdrug do a cheaper version with basically same ingrediants for bout quarter of the price. also almond oil is good and heard good things about palmers cocoa butter. all u need is something to keep ur skin supple so when it stretches it doesnt break (this is what causes stretch marks) so any good rich moisturiser or oil should help xxx

I use Palmer's Organic lotion. Not one stretch mark yet!

I'm using Palmers coco butter (the thick kind in the tub not lotion kind) and also buy the 100% coco butter sticks at the pharmacy. I find the lotion kinds aren't really thick enough and also normally have other ingredients other than just coco butter, my mom used the sticks through both pregnancy's and doesn't have one stretch mark, so far (crossing my fingers) i don't either

Iv always used palmers cocoa butter body wash, and the butter... But since being pregnant the smell makes me feel sick... Way too over powering. I use it when I can, but usually regret it later, since it smells so strongly all day

It deserves every review of 5 stars on that website, it's amazing. Even just as a normal moisturiser it's great; it's super thick but it soaks in nicely and doesn't feel all greasy on your clothes like bio oil does (ick!) lol and also I've been using it for about 3/4 weeks and it doesn't really look as if I've used any. A little goes a loooooooooooong way!

And it doesn't smell funky. I HATE the smell of cocoa butter

I'm prone to stretch marks and have them on my legs from growth spurts when I was a teenager, but touch wood I haven't had any yet this pregnancy :happydance: x x

i have the all day (18 hour body butter) from body shop! its awesome :)

I used palmer's cocoa butter for a while but now I am using pure coconut oil (you can get in any health shop) and it makes my skin feel so soft! It was recommended to my sister by her OB as he said there was a study done somewhere and it showed to reduce stretch marks. Dont know if thats true, but my sis didnt get any during her pregnancy! And it leaves me smelling coconutty, yum!

I use Palmer's Cocoa Butter (the small one in the tub as well) and Bio Oil on a daily basis. I also have this oil by Clarins that my husband bought me last week. It's kind of pricey and I have to say that if it wasn't one of my birthday gifts I wouldn't purchase it, but it smells so good like lavender and eucalyptus and it got good reviews on the Sephora website.

But I agree, any ultra thick moisturizing lotion or body butter should really do the trick.

Hey..I use vitamin E oil, mixed with sweet almond oil..it is definitely pretty oily and gloopy though! However, this is more to make me feel comfortable and not itchy, and I just wanted to say you know..not to feel bad if you get stretchmarks, because as you probably know, it is extremely doubtful that creams and oils can prevent them from appearing... I moisturised with all manners of the 'right' creams in the first pregnancy, about 2-3 times a day, my mum has no stretch marks, and I got them on my stomach, hips etc. The problem is not as simple as(as another poster wrote) your skin stretching and then breaking- well it would be, if it was the top layer of skin, but it's not, it's the 'middle' layer...so creams cannot penetrate there. If they could, it would be dangerous, and you would be porous enough to absorb your bath water!:haha: The main problem is the hormone relaxin, which prepares your ligaments and body for pregnancy, softening it up (also the thing which gives you pelvic pain and back pain, unfortunately) - this affects every cell in your body, so all tissues are softer, more liable to break. My advice- keep active, support your breasts and bump with a good bra and maybe a belly band, don't gain excessive weight, and rub things in if it makes you feel good!(last bit sounded weird...you know what I mean!)

I tried 100% cocoa butter near the beginning, loved the smell but after 3 days Igot a terrible rash all over my belly. I didn't bother buying anything else and I don't have anything close to a stretch mark! I think it comes down to genetics for how elasticy your skin is.
