Best time to OPK?

So I have heard different things, FMU? SMU? Noon? Early afternoon? Late afternoon/evening? Later evening? Before bed?

I have read somewhere that you should poas 12 hourly to make sure you catch it so i do it at 11am and 10:30 pm as late morning is better
they say not to use fmu something to do with when the hormone is produced
the info leaflet should tell you in the pack

I was missing my surge by testing only 1 time a day (late afternoon), so I started testing at 8 am 12 noon and 6-7pm and only then I established a definite positive. My surge comes and goes quickly, others can tell by testing only once a day.
