Maybe this is a small problem and i'm making a huge thing about it but the car i use for work (work own the car & i pick up another colleague) is being returned as the lease has run out and as i'm due to go on maternity my colleague will drive her car and pick me up for the few weeks i have left.

Now here is the problem, she's not a very confident driver and it scares me! She doesn't drive on motorways at all and we have to use a motorway to get to work and after being a passenger for well over a year she still wants to follow me to work in her car (on the day the car is going back) to get use to the route!!! What’s that all about?!

It may be that my hormones are increasing my anxiety but i can't help worry that something will happen. I just know i will be on pins in her car and can't wait to finish for maternity now. Do you think i’m over worrying about nothing? I will just have to see how i get on and if her driving is too bad for the nerves i will have to do something about it.

Sorry long rant! x

I am really bad when anyone else drive - even DH and he has an HGV licence and drive lorries sometimes. So no, I don't think that you are overreacting. Could you get insured on her car for a couple of weeks? I personally would not let anyone else drive my car - but I am a bit obsessive like that - LOL, not even saying that I am a great driver, but I feel safe when I drive. Good luck xx

They should renew the lease - you are entitled to use your company car for a certain amount of time of your mat leave (6 months I think).

I still have mine, you should still have yours.

It's not in my contract with the company car :( i use to get a short bus into work while OH used the car. Then work moved address very suddenly and furthers a field so a car was allocated for the two of us.

Same here i feel safe when I’m driving and in control. I'm a good passenger when i know the person has been driving for sometime and is confident but she does lack that and is very hesitant. My OH thinks all will be fine but then again he's not carrying the LO! Eeek will be glad when this is all over

Im a terrible passenger so I totally understand where you are coming from! You are pretty tied into it it seems though. Im sure it will be fine once she is used to it x

I dont drive but as my OH is a confident driver if i am in the car with someone who isnt i panic aswell, i think it is natural to worry as you are not just thinking about your own safety. But you never know she might not be that bad!!

xx
