Bigger Babies Club

Thanks for the siggy x

Faun- Billy is gorgeous and doesnt look fat at all!!

Everyone comments on Izzy's size- she is so much bigger than her older friends- and yes she does eat lots and yell at anyone if they eat in front of her- but i love her that way!!! i love that she'll eat anything, that she has chubby thighs and arms. People always first ask how old she is, then always say god isnt she big? or something along those line- erm yes i know that- tell that to my shoulder which is hurting all the time after carrying her around!
Mind u she is finally in the size clothing she is supposed to be in, which is a first for her- she is mainly in 12-18 but has quite alot of 9-12 that fit!!!!!!!
I havent had her weighed for ages- we have a check at the end of the month so will be interesting, i think she has slimmed down since crawling, but looked at her yesterday sat in her nappy and she looked like a buddha!!!! haha!

Scally-im quiet surprised by Chloe after ALWAYS being in a bigger size than her age...she is now in 9-12 but most are still way too big ?? i do find it quiet amusing that i had to put a few of the 9-12's away as the trousers just fall down and the tops hang! lol
especially since she was such a big baby at birth and is now smaller than some babies younger than her. and she still eats like a beast!!!

Billy is still in clothes much to big for his age he's in 18-24 now! Saying that his sister is 7 and is in 10 year old clothes and his brother is 10 and wears 13-14 so i guess it just runs in their genes they must get it from me though as Callem has a different dad to the other two. Since being so mobile he has slimmed down a lot i have his 8 month check( 2 months late due to them being so busy) on the 28th so i will see what he weighs and how tall he is then. I will probably get told off about how big he is but i can't stop him growing. How much does everyone else feed their baby? Billy has 1 weetabix for breakfast and 8oz milk, 1 slice of granary bread with a filling cut into fingers some cucumber and fruit for lunch and a small portion of whatever everyone else has for tea and 2 8oz bottles of milk after tea and before bed he also has water whenever he wants it during the day. Do you think this is too much?

It doesn't sound it. In a day Chloe has either four or five 6oz bottles, usually 4 at the moment and that's hungry baby formula. She has porridge for breakfast, lunch, pudding and tea with a pudding and snack at nursery. At the weekends I struggle to give her a lunch and a tea but she usually has breakfast, lunch or tea, a pudding and a snack.

She is 8 months nearly nine but still in 6-9 clothes at the moment, 9-12 still look too big for her which is odd as up until now she has always been ahead!

That doesnt sound too much at all faun! izzy has 8oz, weetabix and a piece of toast, lunch is half a sandwich and a fruit pot, dinner is a small portion and a fromage frais, then 8oz before bed. she also snacks on baby snacks, melon, raisins, breadsticks between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner.

I noticed that you all have mentioned giving your LO tea. That isn't something we do over here. May I ask when you started giving your LO tea and how do you present it to them ( eg. with milk and a wee bit of sugar ? )

Think they mean tea as dinner hun :D

Ah yeah, oops, tea meaning dinner sorry!

I was given some fennel tea to give her but not been brave enough - has anyone given their LO a 'hot' drink yet?

Logans stolen my cup of tea before!! I know he shouldnt have it but it was funny to watch!! He loved it!! I also made him a beaker of hot chocy once (well warm anyway!!) and he hated it!!

Billy has had some very milky tea in a normal cup before he loves it but gets stressed as he can only have a sip at a time unlike his beaker or bottle. He has also had some homemade smoothie with a straw which he can't quite manage yet so i ended up giving it to him on a spoon.

Emma had her 9mth appt today and is now 26.5lbs and still well above the 97th percentile curve on the chart. Lengthwise, she's still above too (just not as much above the 97th) at 30.5". I really thought her weight had hit a plateau but I guess not. Sounds like Emma is eating pretty much the same as the other babies, although it seems like she is happier grazing on a bite here and there during the day rather than eating a full meal 3x per day

I asked nursrey today and they confirmed Chloe is the same there, either eats all her dinner or all her tea but picks at the other. She isn't a huge eater too, I'm glad she sounds like other babies as I was getting a little concerned.

Thanks for siggy, they are great :)

Well Elle is getting bigger by the day and she is such a happy contented little thing. She is nearly 15 weeks and weighs near on 16 lb so is over double her birth weight. She has 5-6 x 6 oz over the course of the day and I have just started making the last feed hungry baby milk which is helping her sleeping no end, she is starting to sleep 9.30 - 8 which is fab :)
Still getting comments from everyone about what a chunk she is but im learning to take them as compliments which is the way a few of them seem to mean them lol, do get a few OMG's but we just smile politely and walk away .

When did everyone start weaning their little cherubs? Elle is watching us eat now and grabbing for things and has def found her hands, they are constantly in her mouth
xx

I had to wean at 9 weeks due to him refusing all milk and on a peadiatricions advice bit we stopped once he started taking milk again. We started 'proper' weaning at 19 weeks. He has 2 meals spoon fed a day and finger food for other meal.

He dropped down alot on the centiles due to refusing milk so went from 99th to 25th in 8 weeks!! Hes now on the climb again and is at 50th and rising :D He put 1lb on in a week last time :D

We didn't offer any solids til Emma was 5.5 mths and even then it was only when we were out of the house to keep her amused in restaurants. We didn't really start weaning til 6mths and have gone the blw route (although the occasional spoonful has been offered from time to time too)

Roughly just after 6 months, just becasue she geniuinly wasn't interested until then, didn't watch us or grab at food before then :flower:

Hi girls,

Thought I'd pop my head in. M was 7lb 12oz at birth, never lost any weight and at her last weigh in (14 weeks) she was 15lb 10oz which is 91st centile. She was only 50th for height the last time they measured though (7 weeks)

She's in 3-6 months clothes at the mo, the vests are getting a bit tight, but most of her outfits are ok. I put her in cloth nappies too- so she looks like she's got a huge ass!! :haha:

People joke that my milk is like body-building milkshake, she usually puts on between 8-10oz a week. Luckily I haven't had any negative comments (yet)

I'm hoping her weight gain will slow a bit now, it'll cost me a fortune in clothes otherwise!

Hello CocoaOne

I'm sure she will slow down, 3 months is growth spurt time though if I can remeber correctly! (Time flies too quickly!) Chloe has slowed down a bit clothes wise now, she is 8.5 months and is now moving into 9-12m clothes but some are still to big for her so other clothes are still size 6-9.

hi can i join you? owen is on the 91st centile for height and weight and last week at his 8wk check weighed 13lbs 8oz.

I took Jake to be weighed last Tues..to be told hes now off the chart for both weight and length! Hes completely in proportion tho so they are not fussed about it, just said hes going to be rather tall lol
