Bigger Babies Club

Hello ladies! thought id update on my fatty bum.. 13lb5 and 65cms :O..at just less than 3 months old! she is a monster child! Some lady in sainsburys didnt believe that Fi was only 11 weeks old earlier :(

My goodness, she is a cutie !!

Does anyone notice that people expect more from our "bigger" babies because of their size ?? I have noticed that people will hold Emily and not support her neck because they assume at her size she should beable to hold it herself.

i no what u mean...Chloe is 8 months now and weighs 21lb 10oz, and because she is a big baby i get asked *is she walking yet?* or *is she talking yet?* really gets on my nerves!! she isint even crawling yet xxx

Yeah! its so annoying, a lot of people asking me what I feed her presuming she is on solids!like...erm noo just booby juice!

I took Fi for her 12 week imms yesterday and there was a 7 month old baby next to us- and Fi was the same size/height as the 7 month old :D My poor giant child

We get that all the time too- I will say it's made BLW in public a bit easier for us though. It's not at all common around here but everytime we are out at a restaurant, we're always offered a menu for Emma. The flip side is that I'm sure people are thinking, "you're still BFing her?!" :)

Last time we were at the doctor's, she was showing me Emma's height/weight plotted on the graph and told me that at 6 mths, she was the size of the average 15 mth old  I think that her growth might be slowing a bit though- she looks longer but leaner to me now

Connor went in for a wellness check-up today. The nurse, before looking at his chart, thought he was 5 months old.
At 12 weeks he is 15.1lbs and 25 inches long. They said he is 90th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height.

lol other people ? i have to stop myself treating EJ like hes 5+ months old and stop and remember hes not even 10wks yet lol hes just so big , we need to get the next stage carseat sorted quick caus hes close to out growing the one we have and id much rather have him in something like the Britax first class in a rear facing position than have his head coming out the top of his infant seat

Well my 'little' Boy is now even larger lol..hes 20 weeks on Friday and is 21lbs and 73cms..The length and weight of a average 8mth old..hes not going to be a short un! lol

I have found that other people do expect more sometimes but I find for me treating younger babies is harder - my OH's cousin brought her baby round, he is just over two months old and I couldn't quite hold him right etc becauue I expected him to be bigger and do things Chloe could at that age

It was baby clinic yesterday so seen as I was down at the doc's anyway I thought I would pop into baby clinic and get Chloe weighed. The last time was on the 9th March and she was 16lbs 4oz . . . so yesterday on 1st June she was . . . . 17lbs 15! I seriously thought she would be more than that! Although the HV still called her big because of her length. So she is just above the 50th centile now for weight, when she was born she was on the 25th and shot up to 98th, moved down to 91st for a bit before yesterdays reveal of just above 50th!!!

 Hi all, how are we all doing and out LO's?

I took Chloe to a house warming party yesterday, there was a couple there who had brought their two little girls. One was 7 weeks and the other was 19 months. They couldn't believe that Chloe was only 1 inch shorter than their 19 month old!

Hey all! I went to a fete last weekend- my two friends were there with their babies- a 13month and 15 month old, and Izzy was huge in comparison!!! I saw people at the fete who i havent seen with Izzy who couldnt believe she was my 9 month old!

people keep expecting Nate to be doing more its annoying and i checked up on milestones for EJ and hes doing some things which they say only a few babies can do at 5months+ lol he doesnt act his age at all

Chloe used to do that, I saw my OH's cousin's baby and he was so different at 2 months compared to her - he was still all floppy for a start. I know they are all different and develop different but I couldn't believe it.

I have a little boy in our mother goose play group and he is 2 days younger than Emily and I can't beleive the difference..she looks at least 6" longer than him and about 5 lbs heavier..I haven't asked what he weighs but I do know he weighed 8lbs at birth. Away from other babies she looks so little to me..lol.

well EJ had his weigh in and check today with his jabs and at 12wks4days he weights 18lb5oz, lol i have friends whos 2 yr olds are only 23-24lbs,
Nate got weighed too and weighed "roughly" 36lbs12oz

wow thats a nice weight! lol what a healthy bubs! i get Chloe weighed next week at her 9 month review. im pretty sure she has put on a bit this month as my god my arms and back is killing me! lol xxx

Defo good weights :) They both look cute in your ticker pics :flower:

xxxleeleexxx love you avatar pic!

I agree future_numum, I feel the same, away from others Chloe looks little to me too

hey all how is everyone? Chloe had her 9 month reveiw today, and is developing perfectly :D altho i dont think she really counts as being much of a big baby anymore! she weighs 21lb 15oz so not much weight gain this month! which is great considering she eats like a beast! lol

Glad her review went well. Chloe is due to have hers next week. Weight wise she isn't a bigger baby either but lenghts wise etc she still is! What else to they check at the review? :flower:

yeah, my Chloe is still on top line for length!
they Check she can stand holding on, babble, pick things up, bash things together and makes sure she can hear and see properly x
