Bigger Babies Club

it is totally insulting. why do they think that only ff babies can be chubby? there are also plenty o ff babies who are skinny!

AimeeM  hello & welcome :flower:

Kaites: I never really thought about it like that - like you were 'trying to chub up Emma'. Seems even more ridiculous the doctor said that too you and it seemed dumb before! You think they would keep growth spurts etc in mind when looking at a babies weight and before they come out with some stupid remark.

True! Chloe has been on hungry baby formula, by the doctors rules she should be a super chub! :haha:

I was quite impressed this weekend, the inlaws came and brought Chloe some PJ's that weren't 1/5 - 2yrs. Chloe is quite tall and usually needs the next size up to her age but she seems to be fine in 9-12 month clothes at the min (although I think she has been growing more this weekend given the amount of time she has been asleep!) I don't mind them getting bigger clothes but that's a bit too in advance!

Hope were all okay :flower:

Helloooooooooooooo!
Can I join? I'm not sure Isaac's big enough though, he's pretty big... He only weighs 21lb 14oz, but everyone thinks he's a lot older than he is and even the health visitor told me he's the size of a one year old. He weighed 8lb 14.5oz when he was born, but I know babies that were bigger. Is he big enough? =/

sure, hun we arent sizest here lol, but i hate to say i think EJ's probably pretty near that weight now lol,

my HV asked when i was going to start weaning when i saw her last, i was like ummm when hes ready at around 6 months i hope and she was looking at me shocked and sugested i would like to come to the "weaning" sessions to get ideas, i was like ummmm NO hes breastfed my milk has kept him satisfied and hes clearly thriving on it im not going to force food down his throat when his body isnt ready and doesnt need it

I started weaning Nathan at 4 months as he suffers really bad reflux and the pediatrician advised it to try and keep food down although it hasn't worked at all. I keep asking them how he can weigh so much when nothing stays down but they are stumped

I measured him yesterday he is 73cm.

AimeeM: At least he must be getting something from somwhere, hope the reflux goes soon though :hugs: . . . and do I spy a Huddersfield Town football shirt on your little man? :haha:

 Nerefet, of course your welcome! :flower:

Hi Ladies,

Can i join???

I have Leo who was 10lb 4oz born and hes now over 23lb at 6mths.

i love that hes chubby and dont understand some peoples comments as some are quite offensive so its quite refreshing to find a group like this one.

:hugs:

Im sorry for the oncoming rant..
When people post who have bigger LO's then some smug git comes along and says ''ooh my little dot is only 3lb 7oz at 21 months old'' (or something as equally patronising) it makes me rather mad..WHY do they feel the need to tell everyone how small their Baby is when its a post for Mums with bigger LOs to get reassurance etc, no to hear how their Baby is 4x the size of someone elses whos also older than yours *sigh.

It is indeed a town shirt! Hubby's choice ;) Where abouts in West yorks are you from?

Su11, wow! Did you give birth naturaly? If you did was it hard? Every one always say 'big babies are easier to give birth to as they push themselves out with their weight'.- I say 'bullcrap!'

Floralaura, ignore it. chubby babies are so cute! I love the fact my LO is so chucky :D

naturally with just gas and air . labour was 46mins long and was tbh easy but it was quick, he did get stuck a lil when his head was coming out and needed a lil help and he was quite bruised including his eyes but other than that was ok i just had mild grazing.
my other baby was 9lb 3oz (5 1/2 hr labour when induced) so i have big babies just one of those things
i think im just lucky but not lucky if thats makes sense lol

Floralaura: - I have seen similar posts in threads and I don't get it either and I certainly wouldn't do it the other way around!

It's interesting though as on the flip side I have had many a comment waiting for the bus about how cute or yummy chubby baby legs are! One woman said she wanted to eat Chloe's legs up! :haha:

AimeeM: - I live near, and I work in, Huddersfield so pleanty of Town fans and banners etc about! How about you?

Su11: - Welcome  :hugs: Wow speedy labour! What did the do to help? My LO got really stuck so it was a theatre job so the whole arriving at the hosp to having LO was 12 hours. Do you think it was faster because it was your second?

Hey Kte,

i know was really quick, considerin my waters went at 4 am that day lol nothing happened all day evening though i was contracting then suddenly at around 3 pm o-10cms in notime and out he came at 3-46pm - was quite surreal. The mw pulled him out as he had the cord round his neck his head was almost out anyway and luckily i never tore.
im not sure why it was so quick tbh maybe coz it was my second, my mum had quick labours too so maybe i just take after her

its funny having a bigger baby you do get lots of positive comments but u also get the rude ones. ive had to bite my tongue many times.
i was made to feel like a circus freak at the hospital all the staff kept coming into my cubicle to look at my big baby, i lost it in the end and told em all where to go esp as i had the curtains drawn

OMG the cheek of them! Glad you said something! I have heard that about if you Mum did then you should, I never asked my Mum, the only prob I am aware of is they told her she was wrong about my sister coming and made her go to the loo, thankfully for my Sis she knew better at the time!

He looks a little cutie in your pic btw :flower:

i know they were really cheeky and i was also ill with pre-eclampsia which got worse when i had him i had to be kept in for days =0( so i was grumpy anyway lol

ive heard that too - may be some truth in it.

Oh bless good job hey, sayin that i did nearly have him on the loo hahaha

thank you, i need to update the pic hes a lot bigger now the cheeky li monkey lol

ur LO looks like a real sweetie.

i would love a girl, god could you imagine how big my next one would be

My LO (or not so much LO lol) was a ounce less than Leo (He was meant to be named Leo too, be we gave him Leo as a middle name instead!) and I too would love another and quite like it to be a girl but my 1st was 8lb 8oz and my 2nd (jacob) 10lb 3oz, so i dread to think what my 3rd could be! lol. But it took me 28mins to push DS1 out and only 14mins to push Jacob out so I would have to continue the trend and get number 3 out in 7mins..even if the Baby was 12lb+ lol :haha:

Floralaura: - I have seen similar posts in threads and I don't get it either and I certainly wouldn't do it the other way around!

I may start doing it, just for fun  lol
I suppose its better than the oldies who love to tell me ''oooh hes a big one isnt he''..i did reply to one a few weeks ago ''ooh do you think so, I was starting to get worried that he was too small, what with him being 3 years old and all'' her face was a picture lol..x

 floralaura

omg i would loved to have seen their face hahaha

i usually come out with a sarcastic witty comment like that lol

love leo its so different, love ur boys names =)

There are some super labour times here!!!

I didn't want to have Chloe on the loo but I was sent to try and pee before they stuck a catheter(sp) in me and it was nice being in the bathroom on my own with out my pesky senior MW, although creepy as it was one loo shared between 2 labour rooms - what's with that?!?

:haha: floralora '3 years' . . . would of loved to of seen the look on her face! I wish I were that quick whitted sometimes!

:haha: floralaura!! i bet that was great lol :D

Su11, as if they kept coming in to look! The cheek! My Nathan got his shoulder stuck, he was 8lb 11oz. I had to have an episiotomy with Kayden. He was a very hard labour he was 9lb 7oz. I was also induced with Kayden.

Nathan was quick to come out but the first stage was a few hours. It took 45 mins from 7cm to nathan being born. I think it was the raspberry leaf tea!

kte i am from Almondbury in Hudds xx
