Bigger Babies Club

Chloe only started crawling at 10.5 months so i wouldnt say it was late xxx

My Chloe started crawling just after around 8 months crawling, I don't think it's late at all. There were other babies born in Oct that started before her and she hated being on her front, then all of a sudden she just decided she wanted to do it :haha: Okay so she went backwards commando style for a a week but after that there is no stopping her! Now she stands up all the time and is starting to do it unaided.

my 1st 2 skipped the crawling all together and went straight to walking!

Hi!!
My two DDs are both above 90th centile... both were long at birth 56cm, DD1 was 9lb 3oz and quite scrawny on her length, DD2 who is now a month old was 11lb 0.5oz at birth - and a proper chunky monkey!
DD1 is two now, and is taller than some of the 4 year olds at the childminders. She's very physical, walked at 10 months.
When she was younger people always thought she was older than she was - and I felt she looked like a dumb older kid if that makes sense...
DD2 is too 'wee' still for those sorts of comments I think, but she is big and chunky and I like it, she doesn't feel to fragile!
xx

Hello & welcome HollywoodMum, congrat's and your new arrival :flower:

I know what you mean about worrying thinking others will think they are older and not as clever due to them being compared to older children.

Somone mentioned about stong babies, sorry can remeber who and im off ill at the moment so a little not with it. - Chloe was certainly a strong baby, she never wanted to sit down and always locked her legs. Even when she was a bump she was strong, OH tried to rest his head on me and she obviously didn;t like it and pushed his head up really high, it really freaked him out as he thought it was me! She still is a little toughie now sometimes but mainly with her Dad so thats okay with me hehe!

I didn;t agree with that newspaper article either!

Hi :) I haven't been here for ages, just wanted to update that Daisy is now 19lbs 11oz at almost 17 weeks  she's still in 3-6 but not for much longer! Hopeyoure all doing well xx

Heya Windmills - Glad to hear Daisy is doing well :flower: xx

Hii. I didnt know this thread exist :D can I join?

Omar was average at birth I guess (52 cm, 8 lbs) around 50th percentile. he jumped to the 82nd at 2 mnths & 90th at 6 mnths. At 9 mnths he was 24 lbs & 77 cms. He's already in 12-18 & 18-24 outfits. His shoe size is 21 (4.5 Uk I guess).

He's a very active baby. He was sitting un aided & rolling over frm back to tummy at 5 mnths, He managed to roll over the over way at 7 mnths. He never rolled all over the place. He was standing on 4 at 6.5 mnths but managed to crawl properly at 9 mnths. He's standing unaided for few mins now, but he doesnt like to cruise. He's never been a big drinker or eater but it never affected his growth.

Me & DH r average & slim. When I hold Omar around he covers almost half my body:haha:

Hello nmwb78 and welcome to the club  :hugs:

hey ladies, how are u all and your LO's?

Izzy was always ahead a size in her clothes, but then stayed in 9-12 until she was 1 surprisingly, then went into 12-18, which in 2 weeks she seems to be bursting out of!!!!! That is one heck of a growth spurt!! And we now have to have a look at all those lovely 12-18 month clothes she got for her birthday! Some of the t shirts are skin tight!!! better have a look at getting some 18-24 month things!

EJs had 6wks in 9-12month stuff hes not 6 months old yet , better start digging out the 12-18mnt stuff quick lol he will defo be using it for the winter

Chloe is in 12-18 month things now too, finally leggings that fit! :haha: Her sleeves are slightly too longon her tops but only need a little turn up. She looks wrong in tops I thought fit her before, 6-9 things, it's amazing how quickly she grows out of things!

I'm glad Tesco have some 12m sleep suits, she has some 6-9 that just fit nicely and I think they are so cute I was worried she would nearly be in normal pj territory already!

On the hunt for some gloves with fingers for babies! Got to see what Mothercares are like but they moved the one from the town centre to a retail park and I still can't drive at the mo! :dohh:

tesco last year had gloves to fit from about 18months with fingers that i got for Nate,
and their sleepsuits go up to 18-24months so no need to panic, the Asda ones do too,

We looked at the tesco ones last night but there were a bit too long for her fingers. They had the mitts but she loves to point at everything and touch things. Determined! Great news about the sleepsuits!

mothercare might do some? tbh even at 18months i found it hard getting his fingers seperate enough to get into each glove finger i guess thats why its mostly mittens avalible lol
good luck in keeping them on her when you find some Nate has one off before i get the other on the other hand

 this is true! :haha:

kte- i have seen a pair in mothercare- was debating about getting them for izzy- they are not online though. they were 1-2 years, and they were white/light with a little face or something on the top of the fingers i think? If u want next time i go in i'll take a pic so u can see them!

owen was 18lbs2oz last week and we have started weaning on dr and hv advice. he loves it and has had no problem with using a spoon  he was definately ready for it!!! did anyone else wean at 4months?

We started weaning at wk 20 due to reflux. Omar wasnt a big feeder. When we started weaning he started to drop feeds & he was only taking around 10-12 oz which r not enough for a big baby. We had to stop after 4 wks. He was finally ready for solids at 6.5 mnths. He's still not a big drinker or eater but his weight gain is never affected & he's still at the 90th percentile for weight & length xx

Hi ladies, can I join? My little chubster is five and a half months, we weighed her yesterday and she's 22lbs :D She's also really really long and already in 9-12 months clothes. She was 8lbs 11oz at birth but then has jumped up the percentiles. She also loves her food, we've just started introducing solids this past week and she already eats like a pro. So proud of my little monkey.. :cloud9:

Anyway, nice to see there are lots of other bigger babies around, they are so cute when they're all kinds of chunky aren't they? :cloud9:
