Bigger Babies Club

I've noticed her growth has already started to slow down a bit- thank goodness since we were outgrowing sizes so quickly and clothing was getting expensive! Even if the doubling her 2 yr old height isn't 100% accurate, I'm pretty sure she'll be tall (I'm 5'9 and hubby is over 6' so there is probably some genetics at play there).

Your ticker made me smile- "Bridget the midget" :) Compared to her big sister but not exactly a midget compared to her peers :)

:) that was what her gran called her the day she was born :) 11lb at birth, she was bigger than her sister, and continues to be (relatively of course, not actually!!)

Is this thread about big babies after birth, or large birth weights? Sorry, I am a confused Mummy of 4.

Anyhoo, would love to join you all - I tend to have large babies, but I shocked the whole county when I had monster -sized twins 6 months ago. They were 7Ibs 13 and 8Ibs 13ozs! They are now 24wks and weigh in at 21 and 19Ibs - about what my son was (also a big baby) at that age. Their heads and leg lengths are off the singleton percentile scale and they are now in 9-12month clothing - have been since they were 5 months.

I must be honest, having had my second child born 16wks prem weighing 1Ibs 7ozs, I love having big chunky babies - I feel so proud and hugely relieved I got to term with them. The more people that comment on how big and solid they seem the better as far as I'm concerned- the journey with my prem daughter was so horrible, that I feel so blessed to have them healthy and big xxx

 Lizziedripping & welcome :hugs:

Its big in general, so at birth and after birth . . . e.g my LO was 6lbs 14oz when she was born but she shot up the centiles, went up to 91st at one point, she has since dropped a bit. Its big in lenght or big feet etc too, any kind of big! Hope that makes more sense! Its a nice thread where we can be proud mummies of our biggies and be reassure and also maybe rant from time to time :flower:

Happy belated 1st birthday to Chloe Kte xxx

well not weighed EJ recently but we are now in 12-18month clothing :O

owen doesnt get weighed til 8 months now  last weigh in was at 4 months :dohh: we are moving into 9-12 stuff now. the 6-9 still fits but barely! he's not even 6 months yet  everyone who sees him thinks he's about a year old! he's really enjoying his food but much prefers home cooking to shop bought stuff, but i'm quite flattered that he likes my cooking :cloud9:

mebebaby: don't you have a drop in baby clinic? Having said that, Chloe was weighed on Tuesday, first time in months. I can;t digg out her weight at the mo as her red book is in her bedroom and she is sleeping! Glad Owen is enjoying his home made cooking :D

Chloe is in 12-18month clothing now so fits her age at the mo which is good because OH's friend has given us lots of things that are too big for their LO. Downside is I have a mountain of ironing! :haha:

I really need to get Chloe;s feet measured now she is walking more. She is roughly a 4 at the mo.

Hi everyone! I was directed to this thread and would love to join! I recently had my 11 pound 10 ounce baby girl! :)

Welcome Jules and congratulations on your princess, she looks lovely :flower: :hugs:

kte - no we dont have a drop in clinic unfortunately :nope:

juless - congrats! she is gorgeous!

ha ha sorry i ment 4oz!! lol she was 11lb 14oz! lol x
:haha: that would have been an epic baby!!

Anyone else have babies falling behind their centile, B was born 11lb so over 99.6th, and is now below 98th. She's lighter than her sister at the same age despite being 2lb heavier at birth:wacko:

Hmm, Chloe went up a centile but I think its more 'common' to fall, have the HV mentioned anything? :flower:

no didn't say anything... think it's cause she took so long to regain birht weight...

just looked in red books, C dropped to just over 75th for a while then went back up... must try not to worry!

Logan was born on the 99.6th centile and then kept dropping down them around 3 months and he went down to 25th but hes now back up to 50th the hv just made me get him weighed fortnightly but they are happy now hes levelled out xx
