Bigger Babies Club

Yes thanks you? Not liking being back at work, was enjoying being with Chloe over the long weekends!

Took this pic a few mins ago - Fran was getting grisly because she was tired and just wanted carrying all the time, so I strapped her into the carrier because I've got lots to do and needed my hands free lol.

Aww she looks all snuggily :flower:

Hi All! :hi:
Can I join?

My LO was 9lbs 1 oz at birth and at her 1 month appointment weighed in at 10lbs 11 oz (22.5 inches long).
I'm having a hard time with her feedings. I'm always afraid the doctors are going to tell me I'm overfeeding her (they have before). She currently takes 4 oz every 3-4 hours.
Has anyone else struggled with this? I let her guide me as to when she's hungry and when she's had enough.

If she eats too much, she'll vomit (not to be confused with acid reflux), just let her eat what she wants :) Your instinct is right. It always is.

Hi HippieJess :flower:

I agree with Aliss, your instinct will be best with your LO. Some people do say about overfeeding but just do what you think and feel is best for you and your LO. :hugs: I feel a baby so young cannot be overfed! I think that applies more to when weaning starts! :flower:

Hey love. Sounds to me like you are doing just fine.

Just for comparison Fran was 7lbs 9oz at birth. She was on 3oz bottles every 3-4hrs when she came home, 4oz bottles from a week old and 5oz bottles from 3weeks old. At just under 5 weeks old she weighed 10lbs 8oz - a whole 3lbs heavier than at birth!! She started off between the 50th and 75th percentiles and is now above the 91st - she was 15lbs 1.5oz at 12 wks 4 days (2 weeks ago).

We have always fed on demand and have never been told we are overfeeding her. My health visitor says she is doing perfectly.

Just go with your gut instinct love and feed her when she is hungry. You can't overfeed a baby and they can't be overweight - any chubbiness will disappear once she is on the move. It's when they move onto solids that you have to be more conscious xxx

Hi all,

Brody was born on the 14th March weighing in at 8lb 7oz and 57cm (22.8"), he's now 9 weeks and last weds weighed 6kg (13.2lb).

Not sure if I belong here, but thought I'd give it a try ;o)

My 1st son was born on 12th June weighing in at 8lb 1oz and 58cm (22.14"), he's 3 next month and is already wearing 4-5 years clothes because he is so tall.

 Hi Chimpette, welcome :flower:

Was on the bus home yesterday, made me chukkle. I was having a conversation with another passenger, she just decided to chat, I have no clue who she was :haha: She guessed that Chloe was 2.5 since she has a grandson aged 2. She was really shocked when I said she was only 1.5 and said she was big for her age etc and about me being tall and then all of a sudden this other woman getting off just randomly said to Chloe 'Ooooooooo your a big 'un aren't you' and that was that!  :haha:

I haven't posted here in ages but had a "bigger baby" moment yesterday- we were out for a walk yesterday evening and our annoying, eccentric, old lady neighbour decided she was going to walk with us and kept banging on about kids who don't speak and these biography books of kids with autism and Helen Keller and the whole time I was thinking "why the hell is she going on about this?" Eventually she started talking about other kids named Emma that she knew and she said that she knew another little girl named Emma who was 4 years older than mine and who was 7 years old and then it clicked- she thought Emma was 3 years old, not speaking "properly" yet and that's why she was suggesting all these "resources" for me :dohh:

Worst part is that she seems to have befriended Emma and now Emma likes to go visit her garden and the garden statues that she leaves food/water out for! :dohh:  :dohh:

i think ive found a double pushchair i can use with the new baby!! im going to babywear when i need to in the first couple of months as it will be warmer for baby anyway but going to get the Graco Stadium Duo for the boys, ive seen someone with older children with it and it is sturdy enough for bigger kids as well as being roomy enough , i got to play with it a bit and like it.

Argh don't you just hate it when they latch onto weird people! :haha:

Did you get to correct her or was it one of those, smile and keep quiet moments?

I certainly like the Graco prams, I had to google the duo but it looks good

I went to clinic on Tuesday to get Fran weighed - 17lbs 7oz at 16wks 4 days! There was a 23wk old girl there who was born 3wks premature and was extremely tiny - she is only just over 10lbs now and still looks like a newborn!! I was being nosey and listening in but it sounds like she is starting to work her way up the centiles though which must be a relief for her mum.

Oh I corrected her alright :haha: Worst part is that this crazy woman keeps refering to herself as "Nana Rose"- umm, thanks but you're not my kid's grandmother!

Hi! I couldn't resist sharing this pic of Fran's gorgeous chunky thighs!!! In fact I love it so much I think I might start a thread for them :haha:
