For people with LO's who's birthdays are throughout December ...

How many presents have you gotten for them and how are you splitting it up?

I thought i had a lot more presents for Brooke than i actually have, well i have quite a few but that will do for one and not the other, seems if i split them across her birthday and christmas it doesnt seem like she's getting very many at all

Are you buying the same amount for both birthday and christmas as you would if their birthdays were at anoy other time of year? Or not buying so much?

Hollys birthday is the 23rd of dec x

she prob gets more presents on xmas but more money spent on her birthday if that makes sence

we would still do the sam if her bday was a dif time of year x

My sisters birthday is Dec 23rd too. She gets just as much on her bday as she does xmas and always has done x

I spend different amounts for xmas and birthdays, but i will spend a little less on Paige then i do on Kieran, but not because her birthday is close to xmas but because i will get most of her stuff in the sales, so they tend to get the same amount of pressie's IYKWIM
Her birthday is the 17th jan so not too close to xmas,

i certainly wouldn't plan another baby this close to christmas, my friend is having her 3rd LO on 8th Jan, her eldest is the 3rd Jan!! I told her she's nuts :haha:

It seems it works out more expensive because its all in one go iykwim? Ive spent a couple of hundred already and it seems like i have sod all

Im kinda of at a loss what to do, buy more stuff or think enough is enough ive spent plenty.

My kids birthday's end in October so not near Xmas but I spend less on birthdays than at Xmas....I make Xmas's really special and for birthdays I get maybe 4-5 nice toys and clothes. Xmas is bigger, much bigger :dohh:

My LO's birthday is going to be about a month after Christmas... works out perfectly for me! Guess who's gonna get lots of birthday presents from the after-Christmas sales?:D

Bethany's birthday is 21st december and we're spending more on her birthday this year as its her first and i know people have got her tonns of stuff for xmas. i dont know if it will stay like that though, might change next year, we'll see.

Rhys birthday is in december and hes getting 2 main presents (a vtech camera and a vtech console) and some new clothes. hes getting more little presents for christmas and his main presents will be for him and Ffion.

i know we just missed the december birthday by 53 minutes LOL but i feel the same PP

i have kind of gone out bought loads of presents some bigger and others little cheaper bits i got everything out and put it on my bed and tried to divide it all up, when we did this we actually had nothing at all lol so had to go out and buy some goodies hehehe

i have stopped buying her for birthday now as she definitely has enough, i have spent more on her birthday this year than i plan to any other year mainly cos its her first, as for christmas like mamafy said it will always be a bigger deal for presents, i feel like i will over compensate for others as everyone says im not buying loads cos they are getting spoilt by everyone else too but we dont have a family unit really so she will only get a few other gifts not from us so everything i want her to have will have to come from us lol

Not my son, but hubbys birthday is 21st December and I have this struggle too. I usually get him his 'expensive' present for his birthday, and not much else, then other bits & bobs for christmas.

E.g. this year he's getting an xbox for his bday and some games, aftershave, clothes, jarmas, smellies for christmas

Cant think of a better way of doing it, I have to say if his birthday was at a different time of year he'd get 2 expensive presents but just cant afford it all so close together!!

x

My birthday is 22nd Dec and I have to say I never really get loads on my birthday as it's so close to xmas but one thing I hate and it's a tip for you mums with LO's, don't do joint presents! I have always hated having a joint present and end up just opening it at xmas anyway! x

Renah's birthday is 6 weeks before Christmas but the way my pay check is going lately, the might as well be two days apart. I bought everything I wanted to buy for her and I picked two "big" things for her birthday. I know she's getting a crapload of stuff from my family so I'm not too concerned. She's too little know who gave her what.

The rest is for Christmas, but remember that you're probably going to end up spending money on a stocking too if you do one. So...judge accordingly. I know I'm done shopping for Christmas (except I want to get her some finger paints) but then I think of all the things I'd like to put in her stocking and I know I'll probably end up spending another 50-100 dollars. Its ridiculous.

Amelie is 4th Jan so not december but still close to christmas. I'm spending about £300 on her and splitting it equally down the middle. If I'm ever skint one year or have not as many presents I'd give her the majority for her birthday as it's her special day and no one else gets presents on that day IYKWIM? I'll never do joint presents unless she asks when she's older for something really big. I'll ask family members not to get her anything joint either, and get 2 smaller things instead.

My birthday is the 20th December, and I always get more at Xmas, but I don't feel as if I miss out on my birthday. One thing to say though is don't let people miss her out just because her birthday is at Christmas. I think that is totally out of order for people to say that and then expect you to get them presents coz their birthday is in June or whatever:shrug:

as you know brooke and aidens birthdays are only days apart! (1 if i remember right!)

With aiden he is getting a smaller amount for his birthday and a bigger amoutn for his xmas

Growing up i always got presents for my birthday but when christmas came that was the big spoilt day!

So yeah we will be giving aiden more presents for xmas than his birthday but he will still get a good bit for his bday xx

Well i think what we're going too do (well what we done this year) is spend roughly about half as much on birthdays as we do at christmas so say Harrys Due Jan, he'll get half as much for his birthday as he did for christmas, same for charlie even tho his birthdays july xx

Claire is the 19th of December, Brooke is the 17th... right? So yeah, I'm feeling the same way. We've been buying things as early as back in September when stuff at Toys R Us went on sale. We've got a few big things for each event, and some smaller stuff too. I think I'm leaning more towards her birthday, for the same reason that it is her special day... and no one else gets presents on her birthday.

:hugs: I hope she never feels that she's getting gypped. I'm adamant as well on absolutely NO 'dual gifts'. Her birthday is to always be separate from Christmas. There are to be birthday cards, and birthday wrapping paper.... NOT Christmas paper.

A friend of mine is born on the 26th and it is a rare day that people wrap her gifts in birthday wrapping paper. Highly rude, IMO.

My neices birthday is Christmas day and we all make sure we split the presents equally so she know's her birthday isn't less important. We also make sure we have a party for her in the afternoon :)

I'm glad all you mum's arn't doing joint presents! I have to say like I said in my earlier post, that I hate it and now I'm an adult and everyone knows I hate joint presents, I do get them seperate. But my real pet hate would be when I was younger, presents from people who would either wrap my presents in xmas paper and say it was joint, or even worse half my present would be wrapped in birthday paper and the other half of it xmas paper!!! :nope: Grrr can you tell I'm traumatised by the whole experience lol!!!! :rofl:x
