Does anyone's LOs have a lot of birth marks? Saskia has 4; a strawberry on her head about the size of a large grape, a flat red one on her thigh about the size of a 5 pence piece, a very faint one of her right eye lid and another faint one between her eyes.

Is it normal to have so many?

I can't answer if its normal or not, though I am constantly wondering what is normal and what is not. All I can say is that one of my boys has a strawberry on his foot X

The ones around the eyes are very common and tend to disappear as they get older - they are called stork bites.

As far as I know the only ones to be concerned about are the cafe au lait ones that look the colour of coffee, if they have multiple of them it can be a sign of an underlying genetic issue. My son has two large ones of those but only six or more is a concern. My daughter has one too younger daughter has a small pink birth mark on her temple.

My girl has 3 strawberry hemangianoma's - 1 on her cheek, 1 on her hand and 1 on her shoulder. Apart from hoping they fade / flatten down as she gets older for the sake of cosmetic appearances, I have no concerns at all. Doctor said there is nothing to worry about.

Vincent was born with a large speckled one on his thigh and a couple of smaller ones here and there. He's now 2 and they Have recently started to fade and flatten down a lot.

I think they're pretty safe and normal :)

Lachlan has storkbites between his eyes and on the back of his head and neck - the forehead was very noticeable in a big V shape when he was little but has faded to a very light pink as he's gotten older (is it terrible that I'm pleased it's mostly gone? :haha: hated it!)

Clementine has literally a dot of a storkbite between her eyes, same again on one eyelid and ones on her back of her head and neck too.

My son has two light brown birthmarks..... one on the inside of his thigh, right above his knee and one on his right wrist. :)

The strawberry marks are very normal, and they do fade. My oldest had several on her face, and one on the back of her neck at the hairline. She's two and a half now and the ones on her face have all disappeared. The one on her neck is still there but much paler, and it's covered by her hair now.
My new baby has a light strawberry mark on her eyelid and also a dark purple mark on one of her toes. I think the one on her toe is a port wine stain. I asked the HV about it, and she said it'll probably get bigger as baby's toes grow, but it will also become lighter and will likely have faded completely by the time she is two.
