Hi Ladies
I don't really post much on here, but if anyone has any experience of this, I'd be so grateful.

I got a BFP on Thursday (5 days late, but hadn't tested since the day AF was due), I did two tests on Thursday and both were positive, decent looking lines too.

Last night I started spotting dark brown, then more red and that has continued through the night and today, it's more red, but it's not heavy. I should be 5 weeks today (LMP 7th Aug).

I went to the early pregnancy unit and they said it doesn't look good. The positive line on the test has turned faint. I'm gutted.

I came home and tested again with the same brand test as Thursday and it has gone fainter also.

I also used a Clearblue digital test and that said "pregnant 1-2 weeks" which is completely wrong.

I've got to call to hear the results of my blood test tomorrow, but I just know it's bad news.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Thanks ladies

I haven't experienced anything like this, but I really hope everything is ok.

I'm sorry i don't have any words of wisdom or experience just wanted to wish you all the best xx

:hugs: I've been in your position, not knowing what's going to happen :(

There really isn't anything anyone can say to make you feel better, just stay positive - if it doesn't work out this time then it will happen next time. I know that isn't very consoling but it's what kept me going when I had a MMC. I just kept thinking about the future.

Also when I was in the early process of MC, the girls in the pregnancy loss section were great :hugs:

Actually, the Clearblue Indicator would be correct if you're 5 weeks. They don't go by the date of your last period but fetal age. So, if you were five weeks pregnant, you would most likely be about 1-2 weeks pregnant in terms of fetal age. Also, the indicators aren't known to be 100% accurate. For example, a lot of women have to wait a good bit to see theirs change to 3+.

Have you been testing with FMU? More diluted urine could be the reason for fainter tests.

As for the bleeding, it may be delayed implantation.

It's good that you've contacted your doctor, though. :hugs: Please keep us updated.

This happened to me. It's called chemical pregnancy. Google it if you're not sure what is it by name. You get a positive test then days later you basically have a MC. Means baby didnt stick properly. Look it up if anything. Sorry for what you are going through.

:hugs: your clear blue is right though 1-2 weeks is the fetal age not how many weeks pregnant you are I really hope your little bean sticks hun xxx

Thanks for the messages ladies.

I haven't been testing with FMU - too impatient!

I have no cramps etc, but I'm a realist and I know what is coming.

I shall update you when I have spoken to the doctor tomorrow!

Thanks ladies x

I'm confused with the clearblue thing, because on the one I have it says it's a conception indicator? I'm not sure when I O'd but, if it's 5 weeks since my LMP then it should be at least 2-3 weeks on the indicator, shouldn't it?

Ahhh pregnancy maths makes my brain go crazy!

xx

Hmmm maybe, maybe not hun as without a scan there is no way of telling, with my last pregnancy i KNOW when i conceived as i was ill that month lol but at my 12 week scan i was put forward a week and a half!! bleeding can be so many things hun, my friend had it with one of her pregnancies for weeks ....she and lo were fine, you may well only be 4 weeks hence the 1-2 on your c/b?? xxx

It really depends when implantation occurred which can vary a good bit. So... say you ov'd at CD15 (just as an average). That's about two weeks into your cycle. Implantation is likely to occur around 7 days after that point (another average) which would be three weeks into your cycle.

Considering you're five weeks, 1-2 is about right. The indicator doesn't usually turn to 2-3 weeks until around the 3 week point for most women.

If you go to the ER and tell them you are pregnant and bleeding. if the pregnancy test there at the ER is positive you will get a scan.

If you are bleeding throughout the day, it was a chemical.

hope things are different for you xo

I had some bleeding with my first pregnancy at 6 weeks. I ended up having a healthy baby boy and no one could really explain the bleeding---it was just one of those weird things your body does to get ready to carry a baby. A LOT of women have some sort of light bleeding early on in pregnancy.

Yeah, and if you weren't using FMU, it wouldn't be as dark a line.

Good luck to you---I hope everything works out okay. Keep us posted!

Thank you ladies

It's great to have your support :)

The thing with the FMU is that, when I got my first BFP on Thursday it wasn't with FMU either, but those lines were much darker with the same brand as I used today - which was faint.

In my last pg I had a full period in my first month and didn't find out until I was 8 weeks. So I'm trying to bear that in mind with the bleeding I'm having now.

The test suddenly going faint is the big worry.

I'm feeling pretty emotionally drained now! I'll be calling the hospital first thing in the morning for my results.

just looked on another forum about clearblue tests, and apparently if it shows up
pregnant 1-2 it means your actually 3-4weeks pregnant,
heres a link to see the pic of them, https://www.buy-clearblue.co.uk/acatalog/clearblue-digital_conception.jpg

First update of the day.

I'm still bleeding, as before, it's not really heavy but you can't miss it either. If you know what I mean!

Just tested with FMU and same brand as before and the line is darker again?! I'm so confused.

Any chance the bleeding will stop and the baby was just having a lazy hcg making day? Or is that too optimistic?!

Calling the hospital at 9:30am to see if the results of my blood test are ready.

Thanks for all of your support!

xxx
