Just for background I am 41, this will be the first child for my husband and me, and I have had multiple miscarriages. We conceived this baby right after a miscarriage with no period in between. This baby is a strong little thumper, despite me bleeding for five weeks, she has always been on track or ahead. So at 12 weeks, because of my age and history, my fetal maternity specialist runs a bunch of blood tests and we get the results two weeks later ( I'm almost 14 weeks now). The baby is healthy- chromosome wise, no indication of Down's syndrome, or any chromosome defects and it's a girl! We are so thankful to God. But my testing came back, and they won't tell me my results over the phone- I need to go in and see the Dr. on Monday. It could be for a thyroid problem, clotting disorder, or whatever else they tested me for that causes me to miscarry-but they would not say over the phone! So I have the weekend to wait and pray that my baby girl is still okay, despite whatever they found wrong with me. Help anyone! Surely if they thought the baby was in immediate danger they would have wanted me to come in yesterday, right!?! I just keep trying to be positive and thank God that this Dr. found whatever is wrong with me early enough that they can treat it and it won't harm the baby. Any other ladies pregnant with thyroid or clotting disorders who did not find out until later in pregnancy?

Im not much help, but my guess would be thyroid. Thyroid can pop up out of the blue.

However just remember no matter what it is, its most likely fixable, and your baby is safe. Try to relax, the added stress wont help anything. <3 I know its tough but hang in there :)

I'm not sure what it could be but I'm sure they'd have you come in immediately if it's something big. Whatever it is is probably something that can be controlled. Try to relax, everything will be fine. Be positive!

I really believe that they would have had you come in right away if it was something that could cause you to lose your baby. It's probably something they just have to discuss with you in person due to confidentiality, and they can put you on something for it. Congrats on your girl! I know it's hard to relax when you are worried, but I do think the doctors wouldn't have you wait the weekend if the problem was a threat to your baby. Hope all is well!

I dislike results given on Friday or when you have to wait Monday... With that said I agree with the two ladies above... try to relax and enjoy the weekend. If it was major they would have asked you to go in, or go to the ER

Thank you all for your reassurance. I am going to keep positive, and keep praying. I'm thinking it might be a thyriod issue- for a few years I have had severe fatigue, I've gained weight, and have been depressed. I've wondered if it was thyriod related and even asked my ob/GYN about it but she kinda blew it off ( I have a new one now). On Monday, I will ask them to check on the baby and will keep y'all posted. Thanks!

Is it too early for gestational diabetes? My sister has thyroid issues and gets gestational diabetes every time she's pregnant. Hopefully its something minor like that so it's easily controlled. If they though baby was in immediate danger I'm sure they'd have you come in asap or go to the er like other posters have said.

Oh and congrats on Baby Girl!!!!

Congratulations on you baby Girl :)
I too had a phone call last Wednesday about my blood results and they told me it was my Thyroid. My results were just over the recommended level. I have to wait a week to go and see my consultant. Free T4 should be at the highest level 20 and mine was 20.4
I agree with others, they would have asked you to go straight in to see them if there was any serious risk.
It could be your thyroid, if it is, don't worry too much. I had an overactive thyroid after the birth of my first son and after medication for 3 months, I was back to normal.
The consultant told me then if my thyroid went over again if I was pregnant, then they can treat it with medication even when pregnant with no risk to the baby.

Good luck xx

Everything is GREAT! All that worry over the weekend for nothing! It turns out my blood is a little "sticky". It clots a little too much. So I have to take a baby aspirin a day. It's funny, but I read that a baby aspirin a day can help with recurrent miscarriages, so for this pregnancy, I started taking one everyday right away, but stopped at week 7 because I was bleeding and diagnosed with a subchorionic hemmorage. Well the sch cleared up, and now I'm back on the baby aspirin. This is my fourth pregnancy in a year and my only one to make it, so maybe taking that baby aspirin early on helped. We saw the baby, she was waving her arms, and the Dr. said she had a stomach and bladder full of amniotic fluid, so she is already swallowing amniotic fluid! I'm in the SECOND TRIMESTER now! Woohoo! :happydance:

So glad, Daisypetals! It's really so silly that they had to worry you like that when it's not that big of an issue. I'm glad everything's fine now. :)

Awesome news! I didn't know blood could be sticky! haha sorry they caused you so much worry but congrats on making it so far! hoping the next 26 ish weeks go just as well :)
