Hi there UK mums. Have any of you had a bad experience with Mothercare's Blooming Marvellous maternity clothes? Earlier in the year I purchased a pair of maternity PJs to put away for when I had a bump and for Autumn. I also bought a nightshirt and had to do this online as there are no local stores now. I ordered both 2 sizes bigger than my usual size. Now im in my 3rd trimester. I havent gained any body weight or fat due to chronic nausea and HG. My bump isnt massive just average but these things dont fit at all. The pjs are so tight they cut into the bump and are entirely not suitable for maternity, noe are they meant to be under bump either. Not sure what too
Wear now or what brand are best for maternity wear.

I've found their tops to be small. I'm size 14/16 and needed size XL to fit my boobs.
I've not tried their PJs though.

M&S do some amazing PJ bottoms online. THey are £12 and are really comfy with a massive stretchy bump panel. They come in light blue or dark blue floral.
They are massive sizes though. I bought size 14 and they are huge so tried the 12 and they fit me much better. I'm size 16 pre pregnancy and have an enormous bump and there's loads of room to spare.
They do tops to match but I've not tried them.

Ive got a blooming marvellous top which only just about cover my bump

Ive also got some jeans which only just fit too- the elasticated waist bit digs in at the top and baby kicks against it

Not sure where to advise for maternity clothes though... all of them seem a bit crap. cant wait to be back in normal stuff!!

ive just been buying normal clothes in really big sizes lol ive given up on maternity clothes, seems pointless to me. its all either too small or incredibly uncomftable

I found new look online to be really good for maternity clothes xx

I have bought all my maternity clothes from New Look and had no problems with them.

I've not bought any clothes at all from Mothercare because I've heard bad things about their sizes and fittings.

H&M for maternity clothes can't go wrong very reasonable prices.. I only have one pair of maternity pjs got them in the sale at next they summer pjs tho.. There's a maternity onsie on Asda website at the moment and also they have pj bottoms for £6 which are great just get them in the next size to what u normally are they do just as good xx

I've found Next are pretty good for maternity clothes. I got some joggers from them and they're the comfiest clothes I've ever owned!

Jojo Maman Bebe do lovely maternity stuff :) Really comfy too!

Agree on the PJs, I got some maternity ones in 12-14, my normal size and they only just fit me at 28 weeks! Luckily tried them on just after getting them so managed to return them for 16-18. Considering they were under bump I was expecting them to be huge but they seem to be just right with hopefully enough room to take me to term in the top....they def come up small!

Asos are good and my H&M vest tops are fine in the same size, stretch nicely over bump as are quite long in length :)

Asos are brilliant for online shopping as they stock new look stuff and other brands.

But tbh at this stage ive just been buying size 16 from primark as it super cheap, comfy, and can wear it after baby as slacks round the house.

I second this. I got a pair of jeans from there at 20 weeks and I'm still wearing them at 36 weeks. They allow room for growing bump.

In terms of pjs I dont bother with maternity ones. Just go next size or so up and wear under bump. X

I agree that H&M are good for maternity clothes.

When it comes to pjs thoug I have just bought normal pjs from Primark 2 sizes bigger than my normal size and they are sooo comfy! I got slouch pj bottoms that I pull down under my bump and pj vest tops with hidden support for my ever expanding boobs - these will be great for after the birth when breastfeeding too :-) x

apart from feeding bras with LO I have never found anything that has fitted well from mothercare..

All my work and other stuff is either gap (from ebay) or H&M.

My PJs I just brought mahusive bottoms from matterlan, or Asda as they where so cheap and it didn't matter if they got wreaked and feeding tops.... that was with LO and 5 years later a couple of the pj bottoms are still going

Im wearing a blooming marvelous jumper just now and find it roomy. I did find with my other pregnancies by 38/39 weeks even maternity stuff doesnt fit properly and tops ride up etc :(
