BLW - what did your LO eat today?

Brunch: Scrambled eggs, pancake, yoghurt, fruit pouch
Dinner: Pasta in tomato & sweet potato sauce, fruit jelly thing, few strawberries & raspberries, breadsticks in hummus.

LO is addicted to breadsticks at the minute. If he even sees one in the kitchen, or if OH has one, he goes mental until he gets one of his own. They're healthy enough though, right?

Good day today :)

B: shreddies & mandarin oranges
S: 4 apple baby rice cakes ( he recognised the bag in the supermarket trolley and kept picking it out & waving it at me :dohh: )
L: sweetcorn cheese & paprika muffin, grated carrot, raisins
D: risotto with mustard seed, smoked salmon, asparagus, onion, garlic - not a single grain of rice was left or dropped
half a homemade blueberry muffin, Greek yoghurt, frozen fromage frais

:haha:

We've not started having breakfast yet and are only experimenting so lunch is every few days (Will be every day soon)
S: bad mummy: Liam had a rich tea biscuit to keep him quiet while I did some housework. Going to buy him some baby biscuits in the shopping as he loved it. He ate half then I took it off him as I felt guilty.
d: scambled egg, 3/4 of a waffle and tinned spaghetti. He ate most the waffle, I think he ate SOME of the egg and he had pre-loaded spoons of spaghetti so ate a little of that.

We have no fruit or veg in atm and have no money so we're having a few unhealthy days :(

Today was quite a good day as he hasn't been eating much lately due to bad teething pains :(

B - Porridge pancake with banana
S - 3 mini rice cakes
L - french toast with cinnamon, 3 segments of a satsuma and a nibble of some organix tomato rings
D - Lentil and spinach curry, couscous and half a slice of garlic bread

Isobel had cheerios and banana for breakfast, fruit loaf with cheese spread and a nectarine for lunch and alphabet shapes on toast, plums and a yoghurt for tea :-)

Adam has had...

b: 1 Weetabix with natural yogurt, 3 pineapple rings, satsuma, few grapes, 3/4 rice cake spread with leftover yogurt from Weetabix, few cherry tomatoes
l: most of a 2-egg cheese and leek omelette, 1/2 a slice of bread spread with cream cheese, 2 satsumas
s: an Organix biscuit, 5 prunes, a banana
d: pasta bake, which he totally rejected :( baby really won't eat pasta unless it is lasagne. I made this exactly like my usual lasagne, layers of white sauce and meat sauce, except using penne rather than lasagne sheets and he wouldn't have any. think I might have to admit defeat on pasta. he did have more cherry tomatoes, another 1/2 slice of bread with creme fraiche and chicken, and a couple of grapes and yogurt, which we offered after, so it's not like he just wasn't hungry. grrrr. WISH he liked pasta!

G has been at nursery today - apparently he has eaten

B: buttered toast & banana
S: fruit
L: moroccan lamb stew & couscous
S: raisins
D: spaghetti hoops on toast & rice pudding
S (at home): sweetcorn & cheese muffin

I'm hoping that as he ate all his spaghetti hoops that maybe we might get him to eat proper pasta at some point - fingers crossed!!! I'm gonna try and make a soup/stew with slightly overcooked small macaroni in it at some point.

craftymum, how do you make your lentil and spinach curry? It sounds nice!

I made my first lentil curry last week and whilst it was tasty, it was the messiest thing I have ever seen. I was picking lentils out of the bath the next day!

I know how you feel re pasta!! G ate spaghetti hoops at nursery today - the closest we've got to pasta

Ruby had...

B - Shreddies
L - Half a wholemeal roll with cheese and marmite, fruit smoothie pouch, Plum oat biscuit, dry cheerios and a few raisins
D - Curry and rice at my mums, not sure if she had anything else...

Isn't it mad how much our babies appetites vary - Ruby eats tiny amounts compared to George and Adam! :)

I agree - I'm always amazed when I see the amount that some of the other babies eat on here!! And lots of them are younger than Bun! Often I write what Bun "ate", when it could be wishful thinking that he actually got anything in. So he is probably eating less than what it looks like!

Yesterday Bun ate like a champ (for him!):

Lunch: Oatmeal with chopped plum and apple butter
Snack: Peach
Dinner: Turkey ragu sauce on 1/2 slice toast

I would say he actually ate 3-4 tablespoons of food at each meal - not alot at all, but an improvement!!!

I made my first lentil curry last week and whilst it was tasty, it was the messiest thing I have ever seen. I was picking lentils out of the bath the next day!

The curry is so simple, chop an onion and some, garlic, fry them off in some oil, then add a tablespoon of curry powder, mix it around a bit to coat the onions and garlic then add 200g of red or green lentils (whichever you prefer) mix it around again to coat them then cover with water, bring to the boil then simmer for around 20 minutes until lentils have absorbed the water. Add the spinach at the end and just stir it all through until it wilts.
I play around a bit with different spices as I like it a little more spicy than this so I add whatever I have in the cupboard at the time, last night I put in a good whack of chilli powder and a baby veg stock cube and it was really yummy!

Ooh cool thank you! I might try this tonight. Sounds really simple

I like the idea of the spinach. Its a good source of iron and I really struggle with trying to give him iron-rich foods :)

I add spinach to all my curries! Also I puree steamed kale and add it to spaghetti sauce etc - you can't taste it, but it is sooooo healthy! xx

B - Porridge

L - Philadelphia Sandwich. Watermelon and Mango.

S - Ricecakes and yogurt

D - Cottage Pie. Jelly for pud :-)

(not very inspiring I'm afraid!! But Chloe was at CM today)

Ruby was grumpy but ate a lot today!

B - Big bowl of Shreddies
L - 2 whole homemade breadsticks, fruit smoothie pouch, papaya, 2 little pieces of sponge cake
D - big portion of pasta with tomato and leek sauce and cheese, 2 plum biscuits.

s: ricecakes (plain and Organix apple flavoured ones), another banana, a humzinger
l: slice of bread with creme fraiche and wafer thin chicken, grapes
d: poached chicken, baked potato, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, courgette, tinned pineapple rings

The amount George eats varies massively. Some days I'm shocked by how much but other days (about twice a week) he picks and has very little.

at today he had
before nursery he nabbed about 10 shreddies from my bowl then at nursery
b toast
s banana
l lemon sole with new potato & veg
s rice cake
D caulifloer & carrot bake, apple crumble
I always offer a snack after nursery as he eats much earlier

yes, Adam also has hungry days and not-so-hungry days - I try not to think of them as "good" and "bad" and make myself remember that it all balances out! it usually depends on how much milk he has had, he is getting a LOT less some days as I don't always offer a late afternoon bottle, so he might only have 10-12oz then.

George is still BF but never wants an afternoon feed now just morning & bedtime. He occassionally still wakes for a night feed about 11 but I've noticed recently that seems to happen bizarrely on the days he's eaten most!!!
