We started today; three days short of six months, he had some pear (tinned in juice) he found it difficult to pick up at first and threw most of it off his bumbo tray but he managed to pick it up and bite off quite a big chunk twice, first time he spat it out but the second time he gummed it and then swallowed it. Then I gave him some chunky penne from our evening meal; with tiny bits of tomato sauce on I made the sauce from scratch with low salt stock but I'd put a bit more stock powder in than usual; so I just gave him the pasta pieces with traces of the sauce on; at first he couldn't chew them and got quite upset but he persevered and when I took him out of the bumbo and put him on my lap he enjoyed taking the penne from my plate and he 'chewed' them into several small pieces some of which he must've swallowed because there were a lot of pieces missing out of the pasta xx

there is a recipe in the blw cookbook for chickpea patties. i haven't made it yet, but the ingredients are basically the same as a falafel recipe i did make once.
