Ruby only likes cherry humzingers, all the others have been thrown across the room!
The naan breads...
250g plain white flour
2 tsp sugar
110-130ml milk
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Pinch of salt (leave it out for LOs under one)
Half a tsp baking powder
Topping - 1 tbsp melted butter plus other toppings if you like, I did crushed garlic and chopped fresh coriander
Sift dry ingredients into one bowl, and mix the milk and oil in another bowl.
Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour in the milk and oil.
Mix to bring the dough together. If too wet, add more flour, if too dry, add more milk or water. (I found I did need to add extra milk but flours vary a lot so you might not.)
Knead for 8-10 mins until you've got quite a firm but smooth dough.
Put into an oiled bowl, cover with a damp tea towel (or muslin) and leave in a warm place for 15 mins.
Divide dough into 5 pieces, roll out thinly, add toppings if you want, and grill on upper shelf for 1-2 mins until lightly browned. It doesn't seem like long but believe me that's all they need!
Brush with the melted butter and serve.
