Board game advice

We like to play a game before need each night and have quite a few orchard toys ones from when Lucas was younger. Both boys play but I know eldest is a bit fed up of the basic lotto each evening. Looking for recommendations of games I can play with both boys that are not too manic (have hungry hippos, pop up pirate etc. but not great right before bed!)

Didn't think about connect 4 that's not a bad idea. We do have snakes and ladders but Oliver does not get it at all and it really winds Lucas up!

we love habba games and have the my first orchard one, it's a game where you work together to collect the fruit from the trees before the raven gets it. All the parts are really good quality wood and easy for small people and slightly older kids to to play together. Just google habba games on amazon for others that they do.
