Bonjela in his eye, any other first aiders out there?

I was giving LO some bonjela on his teething ring and he grabbed for it flicking some up across his eye.
He started squealing and trying to rub at it so I rushed him into the kitchen and poured cold water across his eye and face for a bit then sat with him wiping his face and eye over with a wet cloth.
He seems ok now sitting playing on his mat and it hasnt gone red or anything.

I was trying to remember my first aid training but I think iv done everything I can, any other suggestions?
Ill keep an eye on him and call nhs or take him done to the hospital if it goes red or flares up but im pretty sure I got all washed off quickly enough.
If I thought he woke up in a cranky mood he deffinatly is peed off now after having cold water poured on his face

i would just get some warm water cotton wool and wipe the eye from inside outwards and repeat a couple of times should be fine x

Thanks it doesnt seem like any went actualy in his eye or I pressume it would have gone red at least and he is fine now playing with his teddys
I think it must have mostly been his drool and just startled him.

You washed it out hun he shoule be fine. Like a lady said just some luke warm water and cotton wool, wiping outwards should be fine
