I am desperate to make some mummy friends but i think im just really bad at it. Ive now been to bounce and rhyme twice ( tried two different librabries) but ive not even spoken to anyone at either.
I dont know what im doing wrong, how exactly did everyone here go about making friends.

It seems to me like at the sessions i went to everyone just turned up, participated and then left with their own babies, not very chatty at all tbh. ive tried the meet a mum section in netmums and had a few messages back and forth, to the point where we add each other on facebook then it all goes quiet, ?
am i really just this anti-social?

( btw in regards to my other thread ive decided to give up and let lo rule the roost today so its time in the jumperoo watching cbeebies haha )

Ahh, it is really hard. Some other groups allow more time to chat to other mums. I went to the NCT coffee mornings which have been great and also Baby Sensory as there is about half an hour for free play where you can chat to other mums. Maybe other people are feeling the same? Just be brave and say hello :) xx

you should make a goal to talk to someone at your next baby group. i would say right today im going to invite one mum around for a drink and then force myself to do it. it sucks being the one to initiate stuff but sometimes you have to.make a goal and stick to it. find the friendliest looking mum in the place.

good luck

Ill maye have a look and see if there is any more groups in glasgow i can find, i stay in the east end and to be honest there is a pretty poor selection as far as i can see and i dont have alot of money to spare to pay for classes. Im going to have to just bite the bullet i think and make myself speak to them, i think this anxiety about it might stem from a lack of confidence i have, i am so afraid of rejection, i just have to learn not to care i suppose.

I just went with something like 'aww, how old is he?' to kick start a bit of conversation. Compliment the baby on something, after all we all like hearing nice things about our bubbas! x

Just smile and say hi even if you don't know them, they are probably feeling the same way as you too. I find at the library sing songs it is a bit like that, but at the surestart centre its easier to make friends.

Hey Rebecca what groups you going to in Glasgow? I go to a few too.

at the moment only bounce in rhyme , tried two of my local areas, do u know of any good ones ?

What bounce & rhyme do you go to? Your wee boy is a couple of weeks older than mine :)

Hiya
I'm in Glasgow too. I have also found that with bounce and rhyme, it's really good but most people leave straight after so you don't really get the chance to chat!

ive been to dennistoun and shettleston . what one do you usually go to ?

I live in robroyston so go to the barmulloch and sometimes springburn one. PM me if you like.
