I've been considering having a private gender scan and wondered if anyone has had experience of Brayford Studios in either Lincoln or East Keal, Spilsby or knows of anyone who has?

I had my gender scan done at 17 weeks at Lincoln, Brayford Studios. I thought it was a lovely place and a lovely sonographer. He told me I was having a boy and this has been confirmed by my 20 week NHS scan. My sister went there for an early reassurance scan at the same time as she has lost 2 babies previously. Because she was so early in the pregnancy, they invited her back for a free scan the week after just to make sure.

So I give Lincoln a

If I go, it'll most likely be the Spilsby one (both sites are about an hour away), as I'm driving right by it on my way to visit family at the end of next week. Still can't decide what to do though! xxx

i've been to the lincoln studio and it was lovely i went for a 16 week gender scan and then went back for a 4d scan.

I will say if you get a 4d scan on special offer be prepared for them to be running late! I was waiting for an hour past my booked time.

They are very nice and friendly though and offered tea and biscuits whilst we waited etc.

I think its the same sonographer at both studios they just open on different days.

I would certainly reccomend them

Oh i'm also from grimsby too! I currently live near lincoln but i'm in grimsby at the minute staying at my mums because i'm having my baby at grimsby hospital

Crikey Boony, you're very close now aren't you, the very best of luck to you!!! :flower:

PS I might have to take my 19 month old twins with me, is there anywhere for them to play, or is it not kiddy-friendly? A member of staff keeping one toddler amused is one thing, but two really do need a designated play area.... (think I'm clutching at straws here lol) xx

they are child friendly the lincoln one had a box of toys and they interacted with my son and offered him biscuits, but they wont look after them for you you would have to take them in with you so might be a good idea to take someone else with you aswell?

Thanks, will keep that in mind. I'll def not be going en route to family's then, as I'll be travelling alone xx
Looks like Lincoln's the one with all the praise (from other sources too) so maybe I'll go there with Dh. Cheers xxx

I have used brayford studio with last pregnancy and this one i love them the sonographer is the nicest bloke u will ever meet ever so friendly he even pointed everything out to my other kids so they could see what was what lol he got babys gender right with oscar and says this is a boy too :) i am in grimsby and cannot reccomend them enough xx

Hi hedgewytch, don't suppose you want to go to Brayford together do ya??? :happydance: Only kidding, I'm not sure I can warrant the money, as I only intend to do the £50 gender scan, not the 4D experience, and it's purely impatience... :dohh:

do you have to pay a deposit for the gender scan? or can you pay on arrival? :)

At the lincoln site?

I've just rang them its 25 quid for a deposit on the 2d gender scans :) x

Did they tell you if there's much of a wait i.e. can you like book for the next day or is it book a week / fortnight in advance? If I go, it'd have to be making the most of an impulse now I think! If I booked it a week or more in advance, I'd stew over what else I could've spent the money on, lol!

I went to the one in Lincoln for an early reassurence scan and it was lovely! The sonographer was really friendly and made us giggle all the way though, which was nice. He also assured us that the baby was fine straight away. We found it quite funny how baffled he were that we had come from Sheffield and that he had somebody else coming from Sheffield that day too, he even told us her name to see if we knew her :haha: We are going back for a 4d scan :-D x

Lol okay, I'd say I'd go the same day as I'll be exactly 16 weeks on Tuesday, but I'm 'dahn sahf' ('down south' for those who don't speak suvvern!!) next week, was going to make app on my way back up on the Fri a.m. as I pass the Spilsby branch (did I already say that? can't remember) en route.

DH has got a new job :happydance: so could I perhaps indulge myself with this scan as a treat for all his hard work????

You can book in advance hun :) and on the gender scan he does flick on 4D for a preview of the face wich is soooo cute to see .. They are really very friendly and helpful .

I just found out today he was right for a 2nd time on us having a little boy :) xxx

Just been drooling over the website again!!, and they've now got a special offer on 4D scans next weekend (2nd/3rd October) in case any of you are interested! :flower:
