Well i just posted that my period has come back, im still in shock to be honest i thought i had way more time.
Does anyone have experience breastfeeding and being pregnant?
If i get pregnant i really really wanna breastfeed til at least a year old. I love breastfeeding, i cant imagine not doing it, and now that my baby is in daycare it feels even more our special thing.

I'm only 4 weeks 6 days but I'm still breastfeeding Sam and plan to carry on until he's at least 1. I spoke to my doctor about it the day I got my :bfp: and she said there's no reason to stop - some women find that later on in pregnancy it can cause cramping, but that's quite rare (and something you can deal with if it happens) and lots of people do successfully breastfeed throughout pregnancy and even tandem feed. She did say that I might find my supply will decrease, but I'm not too worried about that now as Sam's no longer feeding all day every day. Some babies do also self-wean but Sam's not showing any signs of wanting to stop yet! x

ah thanks sam's mum , how often does sam eat? and congrats on the BFP hun! may i ask did u get your period back before getting your bfp or did u get your period back and if so how long after did u get your bfp..
sorry for all the questions..

I have a friend who was tandem feeding her LO's. She said that it wasn't too bad so it can be done!

He usually has 3 or 4 feeds a day at the moment but sometimes 5 if he wakes up at night when he's teething. I got my periods back at the beginning of October (when Sam was 7 months and still feeding about 5 or 6 times a day) and started TTC straight away (had been trying before then too but I didn't think I was ovulating and had no idea how long it would be before my cycles were back to normal). I started using opks and temping the first month and I did ovulate. It took us 3 months to get a :bfp: - still shocked as it took years with Sam! Good luck! :D x

I have breastfed my 3 children exclusively and only introduced some formula at about 7months each time. I start my periods 4wks after birth and am regular as clockwork everytime:hissy:....I'm the only person I know who does this. And for the record...I got pregnant while exclusively breastfeeding my youngest who was 5months old at the time and am due any day now....Toby is only 14months old:blush::dohh:

Don't rely on breastfeeding as a contraceptive even if you don't have any periods as you can still ovulate:baby:
