Hi, I posted this in the 'Breastfeeding' section but got zero response maybe because not many were planning for another within a year. I hope someone here could help with my query because I really do want to BF my little one.

Hi, my OH and I just delivered our LO on March and plan to try for another baby end of this year. However like our current baby, we have to go through ISCI.

For those who have been through this, is it safe to BF when I'm having the daily injections? Or would I stop producing milk before the ICSI cycle begins? I really want to keep BFing LO. How can I do that? What is the standard method?

I've been breastfeeding (less now) but still do it .... for 21 - 1/2 months. I just did an ISCI (failed), and am planning another one soon (June / July). Dr. never discouraged me, nor would I have probably listened if he had. I am on DHEA now, and still breastfeeding (during the night only), but she and I just haven't been able to completely give it up yet.

Wow! Congratulations for successfully BFing for such a long time. A few questions:

1. Did doctor give you some medication to get your period to start or it came by itself?
2. Is it safe to BF when injecting everyday?

My fear is that my milk will stop producing once I start my period or that it's not safe to BF with all the hormones injected in me.

Thanks!

period came by itself one year to the day later of having my daughter.

period came by itsself. You probably have to wait for it. The Milk did not stop during injections. Dr. did not say to stop. So, I didn't. Harmful or not ? I don't know. He didn't seem concerned.

My situation is a little different. I am just doing clomid, trigger injections and bd. I just recently stopped bf my 24 mo(I was ready). Dr said it may be effecting my progesterone( it was a little low) and was causing my lining to be thin. I stopped 3 weeks ago and progesterone and lining have both improved. I am 38 almost 39 so that too can affect keeping pregnancy while bf.
