Lia- dont worry about the charts if dylan us gaining weight...the bloody things did my nut in with jac... He was on the 50 th when born and then jumped to above 95th ...so i was always worried he was too big. I am now wiser and dont care much for them. If your baby is feeding and having wet/dirty nappies then all is good IMO  these charts cause far too much worry. If they need them then HV should keep their own charts and raise any concern if needed:thumbup:

I didnt think u could overfeed a baby either FF or BF they will spit up if take too much. Mosr babies will level out when they get mobile.. Jac was a woping 27lb at 12 months... And hscing weighed him at home i think hes only gained a lb or so in the past 5 months.... And im not worried cos hes thriving.

Didnt hold her as saw her in town just after collecting Mogster from school - he didnt want to come home :dohh: She looked big, getting Jack weighed thurs and think he will be close to 14lb if not a little more, we seem to be having another growth spurt  She is FF but like you dont know if you can overfeed? Anyone else know?

Heres my stats... I dont think you can overfeed... I have a healthy fit but big boy for his age..
Weighed 7lb 15.5 when born, 13lb 7oz at 8 weeks, and nearly doubled birth weight of 15lb 10 at 12 weeks:thumbup: . Like i say... Its all evened out now. Oh... I do t my little girl will be far behond either lol

And my HV has always said they are doing great:thumbup:

Xx

For comparison Mogster was 6lb 6oz at birth, 9lb 15oz at 8 weeks and 12lb at 12 weeks, he too though had almost doubled his borthweight at 12 weeks.

Scary to look at those stats as Jack is probably now what Mogster was at 19/20 weeks

Different is good though as despite their differing size both boys were/are completely in proportion in terms of height and weight it just doesnt necessarily match the age on the chart

Lydia - does your LO fall asleep on the boob usually? The reason I ask is during the day when Dylan is knackered and really needs a nap, he will often root for the boob, and is only on it long enough so blatantly just wanted to suck to sleep? Trying to stop that now as spotted what was happening, and its going well during the day. I just put him in his rocker/seat thing while I popped to the loo, knowing he was tired and due a nap, and he was asleep when I came back down

Lots of the time yes, but I'm trying to discourage it on the advice of the HV, so she doesn't become reliant on it to fall asleep?

Getting a chair tomorrow, fingers crossed!!

Thanks ladies - I don't think 50th centile should be his curve to be fair as would be well out of proportion with the height/head one

We were 7lb 3oz at birth (which dropped to 7lb 2oz first weigh in with mw), 8lb 13oz at 3wks, 10lb 2oz at 6wks, 11lb 11 at 9wks.

Bless him not wanting to come home moggy :haha:

Just me tonight as hubby has a meeting, so I have to do the bath  also have my mummy coming to stay on Thurs for a couple of days :happydance:

:hi:

I dreaded first solo bathtime with these two but its just a matter of organisation  Dont put him in the water until you have all eventualities covered! I even take the phone in just in case! I love bathtime but its so much easier with Daddy here too!

I 2nd moggy-its all about organisation. Luckily Jac is loving his daily shower now...tantrum if he doesnt get to join me or daddy:blush: so he only gets a bath once a week for play time now. Ana i do when jac is sleeping and used to doing it alone now with hubby on shiftz. When hes home we both do it if we can.

Xx

Have you seen my fb status? 45 week waiting list for the scan to see if I have gallstones

have a week end Nov-early Dec where Sat-Sat am going solo with them both

Thats ridiculous Lia!!! Grrr

I'm doing my first bathtime on my own tonight, but my sister is here for some supper early evening, so I might rope her into helping...

Dreading next week, DH working 6 days and then away playing golf on the 7th day. Fortunately my Mum is on holiday that week (but at home) so I should be able to have some help from her.

Does anyone know how long it takes the uterus to get back to its usual size? Feeling a bit tender still in my lower stomach and wondering if its that?

About 4 weeks if i remember correctly. The tenderness could bd down to csection though? I get it on and off and will do for a while...

Argh @ the solo time - I am bad enough when hubby has a night out and it's just me and Dylan :haha: though I'm sure you ladies will be fine, I am just a flapper :haha:

Relief here - hubby has come home instead as whatever he was doing isn't on, so he can do the bath after all :haha:

Hi Ladies!!

Lia: 45 weeks is insane!!!! I can't believe that!!

Lydia: I had tenderness and even pain in my lower belly for a good 4 weeks. Still a bit now if I do too much. Almost like a pulled muscle feeling and I had a vaginal birth??

So on the issue of weight gain and percentiles....my MW never even discussed this with me? Maybe cause P was slow starting to gain? Does anyone know how to figure it out?
We had our last apt with our MW yesterday...the 6week check and all is well. Peyton now weighs 7lbs 10oz...so she gained 9oz in 13 days. I know it's not as much as most, but it still makes me excited. Before this she was gaining only a half ounce a day.

So birth 6lbs 11oz
Day 1 6lbs 4oz.
1week 6.6oz
4 weeks 7lbs 1oz
6weeks 7lbs 10oz

In other news I think she's having another growth spurt. She has been EXTRA cranky since yesterday evening. Only time she was is quiet was on my boob, sleeping or in the bath. And today it seems she has been none stop on my boob...and not being very productive at eating either. :-(
