i never used one with my kids as sids say they have been linked 2 sids my first was 7 years ago so the warning on these has been around a while i think you'll find there not recomended as they cause poor air circulation.

and exposed bars dont cause any troubles either?

i never had any problems what so ever with bars not been covered
