Morning girls. Won't be on much today as it is my great-grandmothers funeral today. Just wanted to say hi and hope everyone is having a good day. Is anyone else's baby struggling with the warm weather? James has been so crotchety the last few days :(

Morning all,

LK: :hugs: Sorry to hear about your Great-grandmother. Chloe seems okay with the weather but I daren't take her out in it much yet, need to buy sun cream, a sun hat, a shade thing for car window. I have a shade thing for her pram though.

Aimee: Was it in here you posted this question about nappies  Anyway, bizzarly Chloe has been in size 3 for ages, its the one thing at the moment that seems okay.

Forgot to say, my microwave kind of broke last night. Was warming up Chloe's carott and it was like there was metal inside, not good. Do you think the food would be okay if I warmed it in a pan? Not sure what to do now, no way we can afford another microwave at the moment. She may just have to eat it cold.

Hi everyone,

Kte - It was in the Bigger Babies thread - I've put Earl in Active Fit now and they're much much better!!

LK - Sorry to hear about your Great-grandmother. Hope the day goes ok. :hugs:

I need your help ladies: https://www.babyandbump.com/work-finance/314290-inspiration-business-name.html

Any ideas for a business name? I'm going all guns blazing, have my business plan written, but I can't get much further without a name and I just cannot think of anything?! :dohh:

Hope we're enjoying th sunshine. We're going to go and sit in the garden soon, once it's warmed up for the day. Earl is beign particulalry cheeky at the moment so I think he'll enjoy being out in the sun....got a dun hat and the 50+ SPF cream lol, so were ready lol.

Good morning!

Hope everyone is having a good day :) Emma let me sleep in an extra hour this morning which was nice. We're having a slow start to the day- I'm waiting on a FedEx delivery so our day is on hold until the package arrives.

Kte- my hubby-filled weekends have come to an end too- DH is working Mon-Sat and then on Sunday he helps a friend out with the maintenance of an apartment building that his friend owns for part of the day (rest of the day is laundry, groceries, etc.). It does suck big time, doesn't it?! I hope Nij's schedule changes soon so you guys get a bit more time together. I'm hoping DH's slows down a bit come June. How is Chloe liking her purees? Cute photo of her :) If you lived close by, I'd offer you a microwave- we've got 2 sitting in the basement. We seem to inherit them from BIL who's a bit of a shopaholic, lol :)

Maffie- Glad to hear Noah enjoyed baby group :) I need to sign up for more classes since swimming is finished and Emma doesn't get to see other babies otherwise and she loves meeting the little boys

LK- Sorry to hear about your great-grandmother :hugs: That's great that James is back on the 25th percentile though!

Colsy- Emma loves watching us drink too- I have to be careful if she's sitting on my lap because she'll grab the cup as I try to take a sip and wrestle me for my coffee :haha: A while back, she was christened in Guiness when she was sitting with DH and decided to bat at his beer :dohh: Emma loves the plates/bowls too- I just put veg and fruit right on her tray rather than using plates now. Keeps her from trying to play Frisbee in the kitchen, lol :) Isn't BLW fun? :)

Aimee- Good luck with the business! No suggestions for a name- I'm terrible at that kind of stuff. Did Earl enjoy the sunshine? I think we're going to have a picnic in the garden later too. I've decided to try to do that whenever it is nice outside since I'm tired of cleaning up the BLW messes in the kitchen 3 times a day  I'm sure the bunny that frequents our back garden would appreciate the veggies- he ate most of the veg we tried to grow last summer, lol :)

Anyway, hope everyone is well. It's almost lunch time so I should probably finally go eat some breakfast...

Morning all, how are we all today?

Kaites: Thanks for the offer of the spare microwave! :flower: Is a shame we don't live closer! Did the parcel arrive?

I'm still adjusting to Nij's hours. Feeling very lonely at the moment, especially is he is off for a lads nite out tonight so I won't even see him now until tomorrow nite. I'm sure I will get used to it eventually. Just miss family time

Aimee: Any luck with a business name yet? How was your afternoon in the sun?

Just a thought, wonder how Flora got on with the flight delays etc . . . can't remeber how long she was on her honeymoon for! Hope they are all okay.

Chloe has photo day today at nursery, got her dressed up all nice and made sure her hair was washed. It's a professional coming in, bit like a school photo. Can't wait to see it!

Best go, been given a big job, enjoy the rest of the day all :hugs:

Kte- I think we have a couple of ideas but nothing that's really leaping out at me - we'll get there lol.

Our afternoon was good...hubby even got the BBQ out . It's meant to be getting up to 20 degrees or more on Sunday so a good chance to break out the Summer wardrobe lol.

I'm so annoyed. I bought 3 vests in ASDA in 12-18 thinking they can go away. I washed them and went to put them away so I got out a current vest to see which drawer they need to go into (I have 2 - 1 is a 'next week' and 2 is next month lol) and they are actually smaller than his 9-12s which are also from Asda!! Luckily they fit but I'm so annoyed as they're only going to last 2 weeks or so :dohh:.......at least they weren't expensive £4 for 3.

Good morning!

Kte- :hugs: I miss family time too. Emma has been super clingy now that she doesn't see DH as much and I don't have a car so I'm starting to get a bit of cabin fever, lol. At least it isn't raining this week so we've been out for lots of walks. Package arrived, thanks :flower: It was a free pair of glasses- an online store here was doing a free prescription glasses event and I managed to score one of the 500 pairs up for grabs  They even look pretty good- wasn't too sure if they would since I couldn't try them on. That's awesome that they have picture day at the nursery!

Hope Flora's flights weren't cancelled! It's crazy how much that ash cloud has crippled the travel industry! I guess she might be stuck in Italy- not a bad place to be stuck though :) My parents have another trip back to the UK booked for May 3rd and my mother gives me daily updates on the ash  She's paranoid that the volcano is going to blow another pile of ash right before their trip, lol. (speaking of AWOL bumpkins, any word from Eswift? Hope her and CC are okay...)

Aimee- that's annoying about the vests! I've had that happen a couple times too. At least you'll get a couple weeks out of them. I've tucked clothing away assuming it's too big just to discover later that it no longer fits :dohh:

Emma's newest trick is hissing- it's freaking the cat out big time! Poor Beasty looks bewildered everytime she does it. I think today we are going to walk to the grocery store- we need more tortillas. I made fajitas with homemade salsa and guacamole last night and Emma loved them so we're having it again tonight since there were lots of leftovers  She's a little guacamole monster and was plasted in green goop by the end of the meal :)

Hope everyone is having a lovely day! :)

Kaites, does Emma have tortillas too or just the fillings? I haven't really got to grips with BLW yet so still v confused, despite reading most of the book by Gill Rapley. Monty has "eaten" (but not really!) avocado and that's it so far. Do you and Emma sit down for all your meals together? We tend to eat breakfast a bit randomly (usually while walking round the kitchen doing other jobs) and we don't have dinner until about 8pm, so the only meal that's really good for BLW is lunch. But that's usually just a sarnie or toast, which of course means we will have to cook separately for Monty if he's having steamed veggies. You seem quite advanced with BLW already, Kaites, so I'd love to hear a few tips from you. And from anyone else too who's also BLW.

Sorry been so quiet this week, have been working quite a bit. Yesterday Monty and I joined the local Sure Start pushchair walk around Chatsworth. Met up with a girl who I've become friendly with lately, and also met some other mums. Was a really lovely afternoon in the sunshine.

haha, I'm hardly advanced- just have a couple more weeks experience under my belt :) I do a "deconstructed" fajita for Emma :) I put pieces of tortilla on her tray with the guacamole and salsa (the messy stuff) on it and then just the strips of peppers, onion, tofu and steak in a little pile on the tray (trying to offer her both the veggie and meat-eater versions, lol). She seems to just suck the tortilla and doesn't really try to eat it. I found reduced-sodium tortillas so if she does decide to eat it, it's not a big deal. I make a point of sitting down with Emma for all the meals now. I want her to have the opportunity to play with the food and I always sit with her even if I'm just having a snack since I feel like it's a safety issue. I used to just grab stuff on the go too so it's been a bit of an adjustment- feels like I'm always preparing food, eating/watching Emma eat and cleaning up after her  I replied to your thread in the weaning section too- like I mentioned there, leftovers are a huge time-saver. I'm also trying to keep more veggies and homemade dips in the fridge too since it's something I'll snack on. I wouldn't worry too much if Monty is sleeping when you usually have dinner. It's still early days yet- if you want to give him more opportunity, you could always add a "snack time" before bed and before your dinner but there are often days when I get busy or Emma falls asleep and she doesn't get 3 meals either  Try not to stress- milk feeds are still the main source of nutrition so nothing has changed there :hugs: HTH :flower:

Evening all (got another killer headache) going to book an appointment with the docs I think i cant keep these up

Noah is loving his food, had toast today and dinner has been baked sweet potato and then some stewed pears.

He likes sunday roast, I popped him in his bumbo when I made one and popped Yorkshire pudding, broccoli, carrots, parsnips on the tray and he ate quite a bit.

Had a rubbish day, Noah has screamed, cried and niggled all day. Wondering if a wal down into the town would do us good. Think I might give him a feed ad head out. Fresh air might help my head too.

Evening all,

Maffie :hugs: Hope the doc can sort out your headaches, its hard work looking after them when ill, the last thing your head needs is a grizzily Noah on top too. Im sure if he knew he would nice and quiet for his Mummy :flower:

Aimee: How annoying about the vests!

Kaites: Chloe did that for a bit too, I was worried the cats might think she was starting a fight with them or something  Thankfully she stopped now, she just coo's and grabs at them instead! They used to get a bit freaked by her hisses bless.

Bandit has been a git today he tried to steal my breakfast, sarnies I made for lunch and got into the meatball tin I had for tea. Cheeky chap now has an orange stained paw from the sauce :haha:

Chloe had more carrot today she is really getting into it :) Bath time tonight too, it was weird as she could actually sit up without flopping, supervised obviously!

Well bottles and bed, night all xx

Well I resorted to a feed and popped him in the pushchair and went walking, eased my head alittle and Noah was fast alseep in minutes, did that for hour and half (gosh the hills are steep here) then home change feed bed. Hopefully he'll have a good night. Might turn in myself soon.

Aimee im one of those annoying people who opens packets to check sizes (I have to make sure they'll fit over his cloth nappies :haha:

Right time for bed I think (might have a piece of bakewell tart first though)

Morning all

Well its 6 months old for Noah today :yipee: and he slept 9 till 5 :yipee: (well he woke for all of 5 minutes at 3)

:) Look at that smile!

Morning ladies,

Just a quickie from me.

Thanks for the back up about the vests - I've decided I'm actually going to write off to ASDA and send them a 9-12 and 1 of the 12-18 vests and basically have a go lol

Kaites and Kte - Earl doesn't Hiss yet, but he does make this 'possessed' type noise that freaks the dog out big time. Sounds like something from the exorcist!

Colsy - I do the same as kaites and basically deconstruct whatever we're eating. Earl does have some spoon fed stuff especially at breakfast, but main meals I encourage as much self-feeding as possible. Earl eats lasagne (was amazed to see him pick up the sheets with a pincer grip last night!), homemade nachos (baked tortillas covers in salsa and cheese), roast dinners (every bit including the chicken or beef now!), toast with anything on it, pasta in any form except spaghetti (even I would get frustrated by that lol), whatever we're having really. He even had some curried chicken the other night.....out of my incredibly mild tikka lol.

As for routines. I tend to just go with the flow whenever we have a good window in the day for a meal. Breakfast is normally after his first nap (around 9) and thenlunch somewhere between 12 and 3 dependent on when he sleeps (I normally eat when he's asleep then have an apple or something with him if it's getting late), then dinner is at 5.30-6 either with us, or I make myself a slice of toast to eat with him lol.

Weaning is a trauma....I have porridge oats embedded in my carpets thanks to this mornings breakfast. Earl decided to tip the bowl over, onto his tray then play in it. Went all over his, and I had to give him a bath afterwards. How he got it inside his nappy I'm still to figure out! lol :dohh:

Just need to give a little woohoo!

Earl has finally sussed out that the door bouncer bounces! He doesn't go in it very often as I find it quite fiddly to get him in and out, and also I can't get it down again once it's up ---weakling you see

Put him in as he's being really fussy but doesn't want to sit up to play and he's quite happily bouncing up and down being watched intently by a quite ill-looking hound! lol :haha:

Afternoon all,

Aimee: Yey Earl! Hmm, good idea about writing about the vests.

Chloe loves bouncing, it was funny as they even commented on how much she loves it at the nursery! That's my girl! :cloud9: When I went to collect her one day last week she was sat in the jumperoo looking very tired but very determined to keep on bouncing!

I have a feeling something should happen today, something exciting, although nothing is planned so I'm not sure why

Weaning wise it's just a mine field for me! I'm coping with the puree's so that's a start! I'm just going to go with the flow - its seems to work with other things I have done with her, whatever is good for her and me I am happy with! TBH I need to crack on with decent family meals, at the moment what with the 1hr we get on an evening its just been fish finger sandwices

Happy 6 months Noah!!

How is everyone today? James has finally figured out he can scoot into other rooms....looked up earlier and was like where the hell is James?! Dived up and looked round and he was in the kitchen doorway  Can't take my eyes off him for a second anymore. Exciting news though. My mum bought him a highchair on Sunday and it wasn't due to arrive til 13th May.....but it arrived last night! So he had his breakfast in his highchair today hehe. He rather enjoyed it. Hope everyone is having a lovely day and you all have lovely sunshine like we do.
