A portion the size of Earl's palm wouldn't see him at all.

lol! I know right? Autumn would look at me like I had 2 heads if I offered her that.

Since she has started cruising big time and standing with no hands it's like her appetite has increased 10 fold. She just DON'T stop eating ALL day!!

Yesterday she had:

Breakfast: Quaker oats w/ prunes mixed in. Some dry cheerios and 8 oz of formula.

10am snack: Yoghurt + some dried blueberries and cranberries.

Lunch: A WHOLE tin of chicken and dumpling soup, toast washed down by 6oz of formula.

230pm snack: Some cubes of cheese, a few ritz crackers.

Dinner: A whole chicken and veg pie, a pot of mixed fruit, a few pretzels + 8oz of formula before bed.

She also drinks a good 3 cups of water a day, she LOVES water lol. In between those meals shes normally snacking on some pretzels or little snack 'goldfish' (they are a little baked cheese snack here for kids)

I just don't know how on earth she fits it all in her little belly!!! I know where it ends up for me to clean tho! lol. I guess she just burns it all off quickly being so active.

Morning all

Far far to early to be up but I'm waiting for my painkillers to set in, my fissure has kindly woken me.

Kaites: That is so cleaver! Lol licking her toys and popping them in the sand.

Hmm, maybe they should rename a few places here, that really was a smart move for them to change the name Hull :haha: (Half my family live there incase anyone is offended!) I can see how the forum names could get confusing, hmm, I;ll have to keep my eye out too now, I just assumed they were UK :dohh: :haha:

Seriously her bottom can be foul! It took me back to my festival going years (2007 was last one I went to) I mean I know smells can conjure up memories but why did it have to be that smell? I always say she takes after her Dad in that respect to people

Hair wise, Nij is all fingers but that's why he has decided he is practicing on me now, then again, if she like me when she is older it will be short back and sides!

Helz  Happy 9 months to Ethan :D Your still a Bumpkin! I remember us few hanging around near the end! My cousin's LO is the same, rolls about, he gets to where he wants to go so is quite happy! Hope the teeth come through soon, maybe that could be why he is fussing with his feeds? :flower:

Maffie: What kind did you get to look at? I'm like a pram stalker in town lately, i'm kinda worries people will come up and say 'what you lookin' at?!' Just trying to get ideas, see what works and doesn't! Hope your still up for shoping, i'll read this again tomorrow and I'll figure out my train fair to Sheffield and then we can book a day! Yey for hearing HB  What's that like 2nd time around? (as apposed to when you heard it with Noah?) Shame the MW is pants :hugs: I have always been told your tummy is the size of your own clenched fist, so Noah's clenched fist in his case. I think its another every baby is different thing and anyways, from when I was there in he ate some banana, spied your bro's orange and had a bit and then he and Chloe had one of those biscuits, so its kind of little and often and hey - it's fruit! I don't get how Chloe isn't a gannett as Nij and I certainly are! Although we laugh because at nursery she sure makes sure her puddings are eaten little madam.

Aimee: Major :hugs: Silly MIL! Must be so frustrating. Mmmmmm cookies :) Can I ask, are you still on the same formula for Earl? I'm wanting to take Chloe off HB now, kinda seems daft to still be on it when its for babies that are too early to wean, she is on 4x6oz HB and 3 meals a day, although sometimes she only eats 2 meals. Plus a snack. I'm not sure if I should go to stage 1 or follow on (the 6 month stuff). I was against it in the beginning but I just don't want to suddenly switch from HB to 'just' cows milk.

Sent off Sun 9.50 holiday application yesterday, can't wait for the reply to confirm it :happydance: A week or a long weekend in the Lake District in October either just before on on Chloe's birthday, depends what they give us.

Well best attempt some sleep

Morning all, Kte still up for shopping. I looked at the P&T vibe but didnt like it, I need to look in a John Lew is at the Icandy.

I pram stare too  was shopping yesterday and I kept pointing prams out to mum. Got some bargains yesterday as the Disney store had a big sale section.

Not much sleep here its so rainy and noisy.

Im trying to write an important letter but not sure what to write so think will have to GS the problem later.

Morning all, the weather is awful here, but on a good note, George is getting better!! last night was the first night he hasnt woke in the night, so i feel alot better today, the rash has gone too, so we will see what hes like late evening and if hes alot better i will have to go to work!!! Hope everyone is well, Maffie hows the Pregnancy going, are you excited, what date are you due?
KTE - I hoped you managed to get some sleep xxx

Morning Sam, pregnancy is hard but going fast if that makes sense. Due on the 8th Jan if they let me go full term this time. Mixture of emotions about it all really.

Weather is awful here too going to be staying in as want to keep Noah warm he seems to have earache from the teething. He's just polished off a bowl of porridge and half an orange so just having 5 minutes to scoff an orange myself

Hi everyone :hi:

Sorry haven't been able to log on for a while as having terrible trouble with this site. When I do get on I can't read any new posts past my last one...weird.

Kte - Yeh, Megan was born on 25th October. Thanks very much for the link I'll definitely have a look when I get the chance. I was BF but told to supplement with formula due to low weight of LO. Now she has 1 bottle of EBM and 3 bottles of soy formula (due to cow's milk protein allergy).

Someone actually told me that Nova Scotia means New Scotland and I have to say it still makes me smile driving around at all the UK names. We also have a Highlands too! Its very weird.

Florabean - I've no idea how I'm going to make a vegan birthday cake. I've downloaded a couple of recipes for carrot cake with silken tofu topping  and some sort of alternate chocolate cake so I don't know. I think as long as I use vegan marg, no eggs etc it should be ok.

Maffie - Hope Noah's earache gets better soon. Poor little guy. :hugs:

Aimee-Lou - I can't believe how much Earl eats. He is only 1 day younger than Megan. It must be a dream having such a good eater. Megan is horrific with food.

She is really worrying me now. For the past 3 days she has opened her mouth and just spat out everything. She's not eaten a thing. Even her beloved avocado and yoghurt too! She won't even eat her finger foods. It's so stressful although I'm trying not to show her that as I've read it just makes it worse. I tried her on jarred food yesterday with some texture and that just got spat out instantly. I so wish she would eat like your babies. Just don't know what to do!!! :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Afternoon all,

megewansmum: I was having probs this morning, little B&B forum gremlins - go away! I did a nice long post and then *gone* ](*,)

Really hope she picks up food wise again soon, she under the weather for any reason? Besides teeth? Been to any baby groups that are passing any bugs around? I'd be tempred to give your HV a call since its been 3 days, at least she is getting her milk :hugs:

We have a vegan at work but she won't be back until September otherwise I could of asked for some tips :dohh:

Sam: Glad George is doing much better  Shame about having to go back to work early tho! I managed to get some sleep thanks, was super comfy at about 6am typcially when it was time to get up but at least I had a few hours sleep in the end.

Maffie: I was looking at one yesterday and realised it was the same as the one I had :dohh: :haha: There is a double one in a car on the way down to work when I walk but I daren't peek against the glass to see the brand, it looks good as it's folded quite compact but then again it's two seats next to eachother. I know which one I want now but just need someone to buy my 3D, seriously it's on ebay super cheap and there are 8 people watching and no one bidding! Sheesh, can't give it away, how crazy is that, apart from a tiny tear in the basket which is still fully functionable the thing is as good as new, I only want £85 for it!

Try and up her formula/boobie milk intake for now. Maybe her gums are bothering her, have you tried to rub a bit of numbing gel on them before she eats. Autumn is the same if a tooth is coming thru .. won't eat until those gums are numbed right on up.

Maybe take her to the Dr for a check up too, could have a sore spot in her mouth or a sore throat? Does she have a fever? As long as she's getting lots of fluids, try not to threat .. a couple weeks ago Autumn was sick and didn't eat for 7 days and only took about 8 to 10 oz of milk a day. She's now making up for lost time. Can you get some pedilyte to offer her or something similar? Maybe try some of the pedisure shakes. :hugs: to you both.

Hi again...

Thanks Kte & Chaos - It's weird but she is fine, quite happy at the moment, so I really don't think she's under the weather, coming down with anything or teething. Last time she was teething she was horrific so I'm pretty sure its not that. She's only just had full check-ups with her pediatrician and her family doctor too and they said all was well.

I e-mailed my HV this morning and she thinks that Megan may be on "hunger strike". She said it is quite common around this age, although I've never heard of it and it sounds like none of your babies have ever suffered from it either. She was on vacation but gave me the main number to phone.

I just spoke with another HV who suggested trying to give her all her favourite things, which I already tried. She e-mailed an attachment about starting solids...think that would've been relevant 3 months ago but not much help now! :dohh: Guess I will just have to ride it out for a few more days and hope she snaps out of it. Why did I get a baby that won't eat?

:hugs: I think Colsy's Monthy has had hunger strikes in the past thinking about it, i'm sure when she is back after she might be able to shed some light on it. I remember her saying about her hormones were affecting Monty, could be a similar thing going on? :flower:

Megansmum - Earl is a big eater and he's a handful to keep up with (eats like a horse!!). I was told by my HV about the hunger strikes - apparently anywhere between 9 & 15 months they can happen and normally coincide with major teething (although Earl seems to eat more instead of less - if you can believe that!). I was told to stop giving him 'meals' and to offer him little and often, and then to involve him in meal times so just give him food off my plate, do picnics etc. Offer milk more often and to quote my HV 'ride out the storm'. It's not brilliant advice but I've mentioned it to a couple of people on here and in RL and it seems to have worked. Maybe worth a go? I hope that she starts eating for you soon. :hugs:

Helz, harry has no teeth still either, and he only half arse crawls... He can crawl properly & does occasionally, but mostly, he is quicker & happier to army crawl his way around, or bunny hop. I keep meaning to video him doing it because it always makes me laugh when he bunny hops his way about, lol. He hasn't figured out cruising around the furniture yet- he just pulls himself up to stand & bounces like a manic, yet will walk about just fine if I let him hold my fingers.

Chaos- love the wrestling Autumn stuff on FB today :) Bless her.

I can't remember who first mentioned it, but re. portion size. harry might me little, but man he's started eating huge portions. If was to only offer him food the size of his palm or fist, he would be yelling at me for more, or would be permanently attached to my boob to make up for it. Tonight for tea, he had a whole jacket potato, 3 bits of tortellini cheese filled pasta, a whole slice of dairy lea on toast, about 3/4 of a stick of baby corn, followed by a fromage frais & an ounce of water to wash it down... 30 mins later, we were laying on the lounge floor messing about & he was attacking my top trying to get my boob out for a quick snack feed, little so n so!!! At least he's eating now though, so I dont mind.

Better go to bed. Got a friend coming round tomorrow morning to help me dye my hair. (keeping it the same colour but since having harry I've noticed I have a ton of gray strands & there's only so many times I can pull them out, lol)

Thanks Aimee-Lou and Kte - Unfortunately she's still refusing to eat. I had nothing else left in the house to try to tempt her but OH rice crispies. I tried her with a few of them and she ate a couple of teaspoons but that was it. Strange too as she won't eat lumps. :dohh: Its so worrying as she used to eat small amounts but this is ridiculous. She was doing well and gaining weight slowly and got up to 18lb 1oz at 9 months but after this I'd be surprised if she's gained anything at all if not lost this month.

Babies are soooooooo stressful. If by some miracle I could ever conceive again I don't think I ever would. :nope:

Aww sorry to hear your having such a stressful time with Megan's eating :hugs: I don't really have any advice as we've not experienced it yet but I hope this phase passes quickly. Is she still taking her milk feeds okay?

All this talk about portion sizes makes me realize that Emma must be a light eater. I'd worry except I've got the biggest bumpkin here :haha: Last night she ate about 2tbsp of chili, a Minigo yogurt (they're about 2tbsp too) and a 1" cube of watermelon- sounds like a small amount compared to some of the bumpkins.

:hugs: megwansmum :hugs: Really do hope she perks up food wise soon :flower:

Chloe was a little eater (not as little as Emma) but I took her off HB on Tueday and yesterday morning at nursery she had two breakfasts and ate all her lunch and dinner and both puddings! :dohh:

Kte whats HB milk?

Well today Noah had tomatoes on toast for breakfast (1 slice of toast and 2 tbsp of tomatoes)
Lunch was a jacket potato with 1tbsp cheese and 2 tbsps beans.

I wouldn't worry about Megan's food as long as she gains weight and has dirty nappies.

Some babies just dont seem overly fussed with food.

Another one here with a little guy with a MASSIVE appetite!! He can eat as much as his 7year old brother, and he can eat more than me some days!!!

Check out the new avatar (for those of you not seeing my facebook)..I absolutley love it! My friend does photography as like a hobby and she took a few shots of him last month. Were gonna get it enlarged and framed,or maybe onto canvas, dunno yet!

Love this too...didn't know she had taken it so was a lovely suprise!!

Thanks Kte, Kaites and Maffie - She was drinking slightly more than her normal 10 - 14oz a day (which I know is also low too, it should be 17oz min but her pediatrician didn't seem too concerned as she was gaining weight, albeit slowly). She had upped it to 17oz - 18oz whilst she wasn't eating but yesterday she only had 12oz and no solids. Today looks like it might be the same

She's just managed some yoghurt for lunch, only about 2tbsps but at least its something. She also squished some watermelon before hurling it on the floor. :dohh:

Kaites - I think Megan eats about the same as Emma on good days when she does eat. It's amazing how much some of the Bumpkins eat. It must be so good to have great eaters.

Helz81 - The photos are absolutely fantastic and he is gorgeous. :baby:

Weather is dire here today too so we can't get out. It's foggy and drizzling. I don't think we had this much fog in England! Seems we have moved into the foggiest Province in Canada!

I'm going to try to make Cornflake Chicken in a bit that I saw on a post on here for our dinner later and try to tempt Megan with something a bit different. Even if she just squishes it and chucks it at least she'll have fun.
