Happy 10 Months Autumn :happydance: wow time is flying.

Kte changing in the boots a bit easier if no pram in there.

The 3D was in there as well as engine parts that Nij had pulled out to see what was actually up with the car whilst we were waiting for the AA to tow us home :dohh:

I'd never seen a baby changed in the carboot until the other day. Now it seems you're all at it  Wouldn't risk it in ours, as our boot is always full of greasy things (one of the hazards of having a mech eng in the family!). Now, I have changed Monty on the front seat and the back seat, but I couldn't poss do it now, as he'd roll off it within in a nanosecond. Best place I know is on the grass beside the car if you're lucky enough to be in a grassy carpark. As for those wall-hanging nappy changing things in public toilets, I am VERY nervous of them nowadays, as it's almost imposs to keep hold of him AND get stuff out the bag AND actually change him AND stop him rolling etc. Very scary!

Chaos massive :hugs: and hope you make a speedy recovery

All is sort of ok here, am hating being on my own, OH going was so out of the blue. We'd had ups and downs but no huge fallings out really. He has moved back to wales with his mum and im stuck here with no childcare and supposed to be at work - thats without starting on mortgage and bills! But ive managed to get Sam into nursery as of september so between now and then i have to pass him round to people kind enough to look after him so i can get to work. He has no job now and is about 2 hrs drive away so god knows when he'll see sam :(

Aww Jo, I'm so sorry he's done this to you. Men can be such pricks. hugs

Hi...

Sorry haven't logged on for a while and had some reading to catch up on whats been going on.

Aimee-Lou - Great weight for Earl, great weight loss for you and hope the job search gets better for you.

Kaites - Your pictures of the bike ride to the beach are fab. Emma is absolutely gorgeous and looks quite the beach babe. :baby: We are going through separation anxiety at the moment and it sucks. Thankfully after about 3 weeks she is getting slightly better and I'm now able to go to the loo for a few minutes without taking her with me. She also had stranger anxiety and teething too all at the same time. She went "strange" with daddy which was horrendous. She wouldn't let him near her for about 4 days

Chaos - Huge :hugs: to you. You seem to be really suffering at the moment. Hope you get better soon. Happy 10 months to Autumn! :happydance:

Florabean - Glad to hear that Harry is better now. What a nightmare about that womens comment at Baby Group and BLW. How opinionated are some people? I hadn't heard of BLW until recently so I went down the TW route with finger foods with Megan. Trust me it is just as messy. Most days she uses her food as shampoo! Unfortunately she hasn't mastered the pincer grip yet so she just gets frustrated with the daily cheerio test. All she seems to do is delight in flicking them around her tray and doesn't get to eat them unless mummy pops them in for her. Not sure when she's actually gonna start self feeding and she hates lumps! I wish I'd done BLW from the start. :dohh:

Kte - Belated Happy Birthday to you! :flower:

Maffie - Great weight for Noah :happydance: Hope that he doesn't have a hernia. Your commute sounds absolutely dreadful. I don't know how you manage it. :nope: I'm not working at the moment and just looking after a 9 month old I'm exhausted each night. She isn't even mobile yet!

By the way, Megan was 9 months on 25th July and weighed 18lb 1oz. I think Noah, Harry & her all seem to be around the same size.

Colsy - Sorry to hear you are having sleep difficulties. I can sooooo relate to that. Up until 5.5 months Megan would wake 5 - 10 times a night. It was horrendous. Due to her tiny size and with her being so poorly for so many months when she was born the pediatrician had told me to feed her whenever she woke which inadvertently caused the nursing to sleep situation. Anyway at the end of my tether I did Sleepsense. However, I still wanted to feed her once or twice a night due to the low weight but didn't know how to go about it. Anyway I ended up hiring the Sleepsense consultant Pam Nease who helped us. She was wonderful and I couldn't have done it without her. Now Megan has 2 1.5 hour naps a day and sleeps from 7pm til 6/6.30am every day and night. It was Megan herself that decided one night that she would rather sleep than eat and now STTN. The BnB group on here also seems very supportive. What really helped was letting OH do the nightwakings so that Megan knew BF was out of the question when he arrived. Hopefully it will improve for you :hugs:

megewansmum thankfully commute hasn't started yet, due to soon but pushing for more leave.

Colsy I hate those changers on the wall, ive found half are far too high up the wall for a shortie (im only 5'2 at a push) and some seem too flimsy. I have found giving Noah a nappy to hold while I change him stops him rolling about too much.

Jo did he even say why he was going or if he planned on coming back? some men are just beyond belief.

My diet seems to be going down the plug hole recently only thing I fancy are tomatoes on toast, prawn wonton soup and chicken kieves (not all together thought) :haha: On the plus side i've not been sick for 2 days :happydance: came close but im hoping the ms is settling.

me too :dohh: I give Harry my glasses case & it keeps him still & occupied while I sort his butt out! Otherwsie he's off in a flash.

I need some anti-rolling device! I hated those things before, those wall things. I don't know how nursery manage to change her on a table still!

Colsy: Before I forget I saw a tv programme about children/babies that won't sleep. There are two experts going into homes to help families and see which experts methods are better. Its on Tuesday, 9pm, channel 4. Enjoy all the festivities that are coming up, sounds fun :)

Chaos - Sorry to hear whats been going on. I know what you mean about being glad its all over. It doesnt make you in the remotest bit horrible. Hope you feel better soon :hugs:

James has finally cut his 2 front teeth! Came through today. He has been so accident prone today. Mum had him and over the space of today he has - fallen out of the back door, fallen over backwards several times, climbed onto the radiator (its next to the arm of the sofa) and fallen off (luckily onto the sofa), and then just after I got home he slid down between the side of the L shape sofa and the wall! Amazingly no marks or bruises.

evening girls i just put a post in GS if anyone can give some advice or opinions please :)

Morning all,

:happydance: Chloe is 9 Months today! :happydance:

Quick pop by during the big clean :haha: At least no inlaws this weekend so don't have to rush to get myself and everything ready :)

Hope we are all having a good weekend :flower:

Hey girls,

Am doing better today. Am still really sore. Missy managed to boot me in my bellybutton incision this morning and made it bleed a bit, its been ever so sore the rest of the day :dohh: Other than that doing well. I can move around easier that I could yesterday so thats something! I am getting tired quite quick tho.

I need to hurry up and get better cause I think being a stay at home dad for 3 days is about to send hubby to the coo coo house haha. He said (his words) "Its really hard looking after a baby 24/7" :haha: My friend came around today so he could go take a shower (I have to have someone help me with missy cause I can't lift her yet) .. we both looked at him and said "I wonder how we ever shower, we must sit in our out stink all day" haha
Ah well, bless him, he has been good, but I think he has an new found appreciation for my days now ;)

Thanks for all the well wishes :)

Littlekitten8 - Yeh for James' 2 front teeth. :happydance: I'm waiting for Megan to pop some more. The bottom two came through about 5 weeks ago. It was horrendous so I'm actually dreading another load.

Chaos - :hugs: to you and wishing you a very speedy recovery for your husbands sake too by the sound of it. I agree with you...I never thought being a mum would be sooooo difficult. I don't know where the day goes! OH can just about manage an hour or so while I nip to the hairdressers but thats pushing it

Kte - Happy 9 months Chloe :baby:

Jo - Big hugs to you and what you're going through at the moment. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for you.

I hate those changing things on the wall too. I've only used them a couple of times and normally Megan is ok. We took her shopping yesterday and changed her before we left the house. Got to the supermarket and lifted her out of the car and smelt it! As soon as I took her in the toilet and pulled it down from the wall she started crying. I think she thought that she was at the doctors bless her. That's really the only other time I've used them. Quickest diaper change I've ever done, quick cuddle and she was fine.

Not much happening today. Might go to Halifax and walk along the harbourfront or something. We have a bank holiday tomorrow so OH will be off so that'll be nice.

Happy Sunday everyone,

Hope we're all ok. Chaos - sendign you lots of hugs :hugs:

We've had a bit of a day today. Started off well. Got up and I was in a good mood, did lots of chores, Earl went down for an hours nap at 8.45ish.

Around 9.30 he woke up and brought him downstairs as hubby was making breakfast so I got on with some teas. Earl was pottering around and I picked him without realising that the teas were next to me. His foot caught one of the cups, spilt it right down my left side and back. The shock of it meant that I dropped Earl to the floor (thankfully the tea didn't burn him and he landed on all fours so it was just a shock and some bruised knees). He was crying, I was crying (well screaming) at hubby to get him in the sink and MIL came running as hubby was shouting at me, the dogs, and trying to calm Earl.

Thankfully we're all ok - I've got a bad scald on my hip that is giving me a bit of gip and we've stained the front of the cupboards with the tea :dohh: I'm just glad that Earl is ok - I felt so bad for dropping him but he's fine and you wouldn't know it had happened. I on the other hand have had to wear hubby's trackies and t-shirt because my clothes hurt where i've been burnt! :dohh: He says I look a bit 'butch' lol :haha:

Anyway, how are we all?

Re: the changing units I've never trusted them after one nearly shut on my when I was using it (rather cheekily) to do my makeup when I was a student. Always thought 'I'll never put my baby on of the those' lol :haha: I tend to put Earl on the floor (on the mat I carry) and put him against a wall if possible and put the bag on the other side of him. I hand him a biscuit or a toy and he normally stays put (unlike at home where he just wanders off mid-change! lol).

I may have a job too but unfortunately it wont start until the Autumn (Oct/Nov) which is a bit of a buggar as we're pretty much skinted! It is that Museum that I have been talking about since April though so at least it wasn't a wasted bit of excitement. I still have another interview for it but from what's already been said it's all romising (trying not to get too excited though obviously).

Happy 10 months to Autumn, and 9 months to Chloe! I can't beleive how rapidly we're approaching the 12month mark. I'm already thinking about what to get Earl.....at the moment it looks like it's going to be a trampoline and a trainset  as well as half of Early Learning Centre I'm sure! lol Anyone else started planning?

Best be off. Have a good one ladies xx

aimee, is it at the castle museum next to the mall? I have had sooooooo many school trips there over the year, lol. :)

I got a new dishwasher today :happydance:

That is it for my life. God I live in exciting times :dohh:

will catch up tomorrow :hugs:

Morning all,

How was everyone's weekend? I did quite a bit on the house this weekend and actually managed to start in the bedroom so we should be able to start decorating soon :D Chloe developmed a fabulous new skill (not) this weekend - grinding her teeth! Ick!

Chaos: Glad your on the mend, hope your feeling even better. At least your OH knows what you have to contend with now, lets hope he remebers when things return to normal!

Aimee: Good luck with the Museum, must be so nerveracking (sp) really really really really hope it works out for you :flower: Birthday wise I have kind of worked out I want to make her a cake and I'm toying with the idea of it being a Giraffe but it may change depending on what Little Miss likes in a months time. That's the plan at the moment. We will be booking a holiday soon for sometime in October so think we will be away just before. Think all hell would break loose family wise if we denied them a first birthday celebration. Present wise, not a clue! :dohh:

Flora: Yey new dishwasher :) I was giddy when Chloe's new car seat came on Friday, had to get it out! Its back in the box now waiting to be fitted in Nij's car.

Megwansmum: How was Halifax?

Maffie: Is this your last week of freedom before work? :hugs:

Car is now fixed :) Got a part from a scrappie and all is well, phew.

I have now figured the best time to change Chloe is first thing when she gets up or after a nap as she seems to just lie there quite happily rather than flipping over and wandering off.

Well best be off for now, have a good day ladies :flower: :hugs:

Just a mega quick hi from me to say I'm here, even though you may not hear from me much this week. Had an immensely busy weekend, It's now Wakes Week here, and my mum is up, so we are probably going to be busy most days, most of the time, for the next few days. Monty woke 3 times last night, despite a much later night than usual and hardly any nap time at all Sat or Sun. But we're trying some new night-time tactics, so I shall report back in a few days as to what they are and whether they make any difference.

Still waiting to hear re my tender. They've dropped the second stage and moved direct to the third stage, which is sort of good, although I know I would have done very well at the second stage, so I've kind of missed an opportunity to show off a little!

OK, it's time for a super early lunch, because it's swimming this afternoon.

Hugs to you all, and will catch up with you again soon (ish). xx

Evening all

Kte yeah last week of freedom unless I get my leave then will be extended to another 6 weeks.

A quickie from me as Noah is so active at the moment.

My back is playing up (not sure if it's the fractured coccyx) maybe baby is lying funny on me.

Back later hopefully

xxx

Hey girls. Hope everyone is ok.

Chaos - glad your feeling better. Kids always manage to get you just where your incision is. I lost count of the amount of times James knocked mine.

Maffie - hope the back feels better soon. I had awful problems with mine cos of having scoliosis so you may find the weight of the baby causes more pressure and stress on the fractured coccyx.

Are any of the other bumpkins obsessed with pulling off their socks?! I cannot keep a pair on James for more than about half a second! Unless he has his shoes on in which case he is content to play with the velcro. Hes got size 3 feet so I dont think they even do those sock grip thingys big enough. Any ideas? Must dash cos he is yelling in his cot. Think its going to be a night for calpol :(
