She has 2 pairs of soft shoes from tesco's but I have yet to pop them on her and I have been eyeballing some cruisers on the clarks website just to start looking. I'm crying at the prices but want to get it right for her feet! I think I need to start introducing the ones she has soon a little each day so she is used to them on her feed as she loves to stand on the bus station chair so when she is even more mobile I can see her wanting to wander about more!

Me too, I flat out refuse to pay $15.00 for a pair of baby shoes that she is going to outgrow in 3 months.

Over here is a thing called consignment. Basically it happens twice a year. You get all your baby stuff (I'm consigning all Autumns new born stuff and baby toys this year), and take it to a big second hand kids sale. You get 70% of the sales, (Organizer gets 30% which she puts to charity)
Its where I get all Autumns clothes/shoes/toys from. This time I'll consign all her winter newborn stuff and I'll buy 12 to 18 month winter stuff and toys. I get stuff for a 1/4 of the price in the shops. The lady that organizes it is strict with qulity of stuff she accepts so it looks brand new.
For example, I got the shoes for $2. I got her jumparoo for $15.00 (normally $90 brand new), high chair for $18, normally $70 brand new)
The way I see it is, what is the point on wasting my money on brand new stuff when she out grows clothes in a month, she gets bored of toys in a month, you know?

Totally agree about second hand stuff, most of Chloe's things are second hand, good quality stuff. I suppose they do the NCT sales and that over here but think you have the better bargains! Was amazed at some of the prices you mentioned in the original Bumpkin thread!

I'd love right now $15! They are bloomin' approx $34 (£22.00) from Clarks. I just can't afford that every 3 months! Still struggling selling my bloomin' silvercross at £85 quick, things are £300 brand new, I got mine from a friend 'cheap' but not '£85.00 cheap'!

Did you measure Autumns feet by yourself? My one and only worry with second hand shoes is when you wear some else's shoes you can feel where the other person's feet has broken in the shoe so I'd rather she got as new as possble (and as cheap as possible!) so it doesn't affect her walking development. I'm prob just over thinking this!

Nah had them measured at the shop.
Re broken in shoes, moat the ones I find are the 'never been worn' ones .. plus shes in the soft soles ones right now while she leans to walk so she can bend her foot, thet don't really get worn because the out grow them so quick.

Look who was climbing up the screen on the outside of my patio doors this morning! I guess he wanted some porridge lol. We have a bunch of baby squibbles out back right now.

True :D

I'll get Chloe's done after the Back to School rush, she will only need her softies until then anyway!

Afternoon girlies!!

I've just got back from an interview to an empty house so I'm making the most of it lol. Stargate on the telly, chocolate to eat and feet up on the sofa! lol :coffee:

How are we all?

Re: Shoes - Earl needs them soon too but he has a pair of sandals that we use most of the time if we're out and about. I read somewhere that bare feet are best until they're taking unaided steps as they need to learn how to balance - I dread to think what size Earl will be as his sandals are a 12-18m and his toes are nearly at the top!! We're planning on getting him some shoes for a family party we're going to in October - we think he'll be walking by then

Kte - Ewww to the rat! I don't blame you wanting to disinfect everything. Evn though like you the rats themselves don't bother me, I don't like the idea of them near the house lol. Glad you got your cat back too

Hope we're all good. We're ok, if not a little bored of being here. Hubby has taken up reading and I'm still applying for all the jobs I can. I've only had 2 interviews so far and no news (1 was this afternoon so we'll see) - I'm torn as I really want to stay at home with Earl and while I'm on JSA I can afford to take my time, but on the other hand, I can get out of the house, get some bills paid off and get us moved out if I work. I guess i've been lucky having nearly 10 months with him uninterrupted. I'm sure anyone would kill for that!

Earl has developed the cheekiest sense of humour in recent days. He's learned to play hide and seek and runs (well, crawls lol) away if you chase him! He's also learned to throw things, which he thinks is hilarious! lol He also tries to feed the dogs when he's eating, which theytake full advantage of (we've got 3 very fat terriers in the making here! lol)

I've got a Dr's appointment on Thursday to try to get my body fixed up. I've had 3 periods in 6 weeks (sorry for the TMI) despite being on the pill, have really bad aches and pains in my knees, hips, ankles and coccyx, feel sick, have massive mood swings (think my thyroid is still out of whack slightly). I need a smear (still haven't had one :blush:) and all sorts lol. I'm falling apart generally - surely this still can't be related to Earl? Or could it?

Anyhoo ladies, I'm off to enjoy the peace while it lasts lol. Have a good afternoon and evening. :hugs:

Afternoon all,

Hope your all okay :flower:

Chloe now has a top tooth :D So that's 5 down . . . :haha: She loves showing them off! (Plus grinding them).

Aimee - Think it could be, I have never been right since either! Good your getting checked out and I hope they can figure out what is wrong. I was at the docs a few months back for something else and since I had abnormal cells last time and was due for a smear re-test pretty much at the time as well I asked at reception and they said the nurse could do one then  But it's done now and I am still awaiting the results. I have to say the one I had after Chloe hurt less than the second one, the second one didn't hurt hurt, was just a twinge, almost like being tattoo'ed on the inside, annoying but bearable. Anyway I hugely digress, I was meant to be saying good your getting one sorted, any earlier and you could have had abnormal cells due to having Earl and had to have another anyway. Hope that makes some sence! I didn't sleep too well last night so my brain is on a go slow :dohh:

TMI also, but my periods are just not right either. Did you always get aches, I know you mentioed growing pains but not sure if you suffered AF joint pains either? My knees always ache, I have 1 achey knee right now. Having said that, no AF  I stopped my monthly pill on Sunday and I yet to be graced with her presence. I'm at a loss really, think I will let it run its course and then start the pills again, rather then starting again on next Monday. Its just been out of sync for ages which can't be right / good.

Chaos: I miss squirrels! They used to be loads when I lived at home with my Mum and Dad as we lived next to a huge park.

:hi: ladies, how are you all?

I've had a quick skim-through of all the messages, but my memory is all over the place at the moment so forgive me if I forget people :dohh:

Aimee, hope the interviews keep coming through for you & that you get a wicked-cool job asap.

Kte, my body is, for want of a better way of putting it, screwed since having Harry. It wasn't in the best of shape before getting pregnant what with years n years worth of sporting injuries (gymnastic, trampolining, lacrosse, netball, swimming, dancing & athletics) & then mega weight gain while at uni etc... But now, I thihnk it's broken beyond repair. My lower back, tail bone, right shoulder, left wrist, achey neck & knee joints & constant cramp & shooting pains in my shins are gonna be the end of me, lol.

Megewansmum- how's the eating going with Megan? Hope it's getting better.

Chaos- sending you a virtual 'break'. Poor Autumn; I hope it clears up soon, but WTG on the steps! That's awesome!

Kaites- how's Emma?

Maffie- I can't believe you're almost 20 weeks already; the time is flying by!!!! And yay for Noah being an active climber- harry's into climbing everything too; we've had quite a few tumbles this past week as he's getting far too adventurous for his own good!

Colsy- yay for the developmental check & all being well. I really hope Monty figures out the STTN soon & that things continue to improve between you & your husband.

Neferet & Bingers- :hi: Hope your little ones are doing well :)

Well, we had a lovely time in Norwich, visiting friends & family, eating out a lot, showing off Harry to everyone, shopping (I've only just discovered Primark- stocked up on clothes for Harry for Autumn time for only £20- freaking amazed!) & even went to Snetterton race track on the way home, lol. It was lovely being away from Hampshire but it really made me realise just how homesick I am... I love seeing all my aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents & old school friends, but it reminds me how I'm not part of that anymore & I really, really miss it. I felt like I was 'me' again while I was there & was actually quite sad when we got home. Even OH said that he would love for Harry to be hbought up somewhere like where I grew up because he can see how community based & friendly it is compared to here... Ah well, such is life...

Harry's crawling properly all the time now (took him long enough, lol), pulling himself up to standing on blimmin everything & trying to climb up o the sofas, the TV stand, the bottom steps of the stairs... He tried to climb out of the bath last night too. :dohh: His tooth is growing through nicely & he's still eating well, although we're down to no more than 6 BFs a day now, unless he has a crappy night, when it's more... And he needs another haircut too (that'll be his 3rd) so I'm thinking he's gonna cost me a fortune in haircuts in his lifetime!!! He's also now saying mum-mum, dad-dad, nanny, boob-ba, (really should stop saying booby to him when he's hungry!) look (obsessed with pointing at things & sayihng look) & ta & is now doing some makaton. He's only picked up bird & thankyou so far... I think he's gonna be a quick speaker, the noisy git! Walking-wise, he wont even attempt to stand on his own unaided, but it happy to side-step using furniture, and walk when he holds out fingers, so we bought him on of those push along walkers, which he's loving, although he gets a bit ahead of himself & falls flat on his face after a few steps, which has caused some tears already!

anyways... I'll shut up now.

Love you ladies! :flower:

Flora glad you had a lovely time visiting your family. Noah's really dropped off the BFs now, although in the early hours while upset from teething he fed for about half hour :dohh:

Chaos- That's an awesome squirrel pic! I love squirrels! =]

Florabean- Yay for having a nice time visiting family! =]

I'm so, so sleepy! Isaac's asleep so it's probably wise to have a nap myself, but I'm too addicted to this place!
Had Isaac's hospital appointment today. There's absolutely nothing wrong with him. =] On his notey things that the doctor had, it repeatedly said it was female... So the doctor was super-confused when I took his nappy off lol!

Afternoon all, had Noah's HV here to check his development and he stood up and walked over to her. He let go of the play pen and wobbled over to the sofa (about 5 steps) well proud of him. He is so socialable and she said he's well ahead with his development. Got to take him in soon to be measured at baby clinic.

Hope everyone is well, typical of doctors to get notes wrong Neferet.

We had a 4.30 start this morning due to teeth so feeling tired myself. I guess Noah will be in bed early again tonight.

OMGOMGOMG Isaac just stood up without holding on to anything for 7 or 8 seconds. I'm so proud of him! =]

Hehe thanks... I love the name Noah! I was actually considering calling Ike Noah. =] Maffie- I've just startedd following your blog... Hope you don't mind. =]

Well done standing / walking bumpkins! :happydance:

Chloe is ill, chicken pox for sure this time :nope: the spots came out yeaterday, she was fine up until them but is very grumpy now. Poor madam has sports on her face too, I have got the mitts back out! Typical as had a nice shopping trip planned with Maffie and Noah tomorrow :( Hopefully this is it and she won't get them again, they look awful.

Best go, nicked Nij's laptop whilst he went to the loo and he is back!

Have a good weekend all :flower:

Morning all :flower:

Maffie: Happy half way point! :hugs:

Chloe looks a right state at the moment with her spots and lotion dabbed all over bless. Hope this is it for her and she doen't get it again, be nice! lol She was upset last night about am1 so I brought her into be with me and Nij, she slept well on me, she just wanted cuddles. When Nij went to work she took over the rest of the bed! Little fidget bum, I had to wait until she was properly asleep for fear of her flopping off the bed. It was weird about 6 am she just suddenly sat up *ping* and that was it, up for the day

Really should get dressed, been up for 2hrs now

Hello all

Cant believe im half way already it's quite scary. I had some weird nightmares last night about a ship  I woke about 6 times and everytime I nodded off I was back in the nightmare. Not a clue what that means.

Noah has started to get super grumpy of an evening so his bed time has been moved forward. He's fast asleep by 7.30pm at the latest now but last night he woke at 12 when I went to bed but thankfully settled straight back down.

I hope Chloes gets better soon, has she picked them up at nursery?

Ive not heard back from work yet, I informed them of pregnancy

Wonder if he is tiring himself out quicker now?

Yeah, oddly when they were rife she got away with them but there have been a few cases in the next room up. Chloe's friend Harry is moving in there so he is in ther and then back in the baby room each day for a few weeks for a settling in period so she must have picked it up via him somehow  Poor girl has more now, some of them are them in her hair now, under her armpits on on her little bum and even inside her ear  She has gone to bed now but I can see her coming into bed again tonight.

Hopefully if she has a good dose she shouldn't get them again. :hugs:

I think Noah is tiring out faster as he's so active, even the health visitor commented how on the go he is now. He also cut 2 more teeth today one's cut all way across and one is half through so i'm hoping they dont bother him too much tonight.

Off to the seaside tomorrow so hopefully will be ok weather.
