Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

Kaites he's a food monster so wont venture far if food is on offer :haha:

^^ lol- I wish that were the case for us! Emma will choose chatting with strangers over food everytime- I honestly wonder why I bother even ordering her food because she never eats it :dohh:

Kaites: I love it when people chat to Chloe, they think they are in it for a little conversation, I think sometimes they wish they never started! :haha:

I have popped a post in the finance section, any mathematical minds able to help? :flower: https://www.babyandbump.com/work-finance/562391-financial-maths-help-we-getting-so-wrong.html#post9653546

Chaos: Hope Autumn is feeling better after having her tubes in :flower:

Morning, well afternoon all :flower:

Chloe was up at 4am this morning, no real reason, I am putting it down to a bad dream as she just wanted cuddles. Good job Nij is away until tonight so I just brought her into bed with me. She was just staring for ages, wouldn't go to sleep, I drifted off and with my blocked nose started to snore  Cheeky miss started grabbing and prodding my lips! :haha: Bless her. Needless to say she was zonked come 6.30 when it was time to wake her. She was great on the bus again though and at the station she was giggiling and being chirpy so she seems to have not missed out. I on the other hand have another stonking headache!

:hugs: :flower:

Hi everyone!

Day off today - and I wish I could say that i'm enjoying it. Hubby was making my life a misery to be honest!

We went into town but I forgot my card so couldn't do any of the shopping I needed so we went for a wander and got the next bus back home. Obviously a success lol. Got back and hubby had asked me to get him some cigarettes. He'd run out completely last night and didn't I know it this morning. I got home and he was sat on the internet again (he spends about 4-5 hours per day on forums, looking at his hobby sites, dream bike shopping etc) and I put Earl down for his nap about 11. Hubby then decides that instead of doing his work which was due in at 3pm, he would re-new the car insurance, renew his driving licence and generally be miserable! I got on with my jobs (put washing on, did washing up, sorted out toys etc). I got so fed up of his snapping at me I got in the car once he'd actually started his work (at 1pm! Earl was still in bed) and went to the shop for the bits I needed and his cigarettes. I got back in and he was bitching because he was hungry so when Earl woke up I made us all egg on toast (which he complained wasn't cooked properly) and then darted out of the door to get to Uni on time to hand in his work. He's then going to the pub so Earl and I have the afternoon to ourselves, but it's now gone 2 and I'm knackered from running around after hubby all morning. My God! I just want to sit still and not be worried. It's bad enough that while we're not 100% skint any more we're still quite low on the scale of well off and I think this is also pissing him off (we've just had to spend £120 on car insurance to get it back up to scratch! And I still need to sort out the electricity company but we have enough (thank god!) to get by on....just!

Sorry to moan girls - I don't know what's gotten into him. Normally if anything like this is going on I keep it to myself as it's normally my fault (my thyroid can make me really grumpy sometimes) but today I just feel is totally uncalled for!

On the plus side my course work has arrived so I can make a start on a new life tonight! :happydance: Hoping to get it complete within 3 months.

Fraggles - I'm doing a Professional Proof-Reader course. I'm hoping that it will be a way for me to work from home very soon

Oh no! Earl's got himself stuck on the top of the fishing box again! He can get up but can't get down so just sits with his arms out waiting for me to rescue him

Aimee: Sounds uncalled for to me :hugs: Course sounds really interesting

Fraggles: Good luck hunting :flower:

Colsy - Chapter house - only got it this afternoon and I'm itching to get started. If you don't mind me asking how do you find it as a job? Then again, anything is better than my current job :dohh: - also, not another thing we have in common!

Kte - thanks for the support - I just needed to moan. If I know hubby he'll come in and either apologise straight away or he'll act like nothing ever happened and be back to his normal self. He gets really het up by his course sometimes and it's completely alien to me to leave everything to the 11th hour like he does. never mind- all over now.

I LOVE it. It's the only career I've ever known, since graduating. Things will be a bit diff for you, as you're taking a diff route from me - I trained on the job, in-house, with a London book publisher, which means I've had the all-important "contacts" from day one (in the media world, "contacts"are about 90 per cent of getting a good job). But having said that, few people these days are lucky enough to get even voluntary in-house training, let alone paid training, so you certainly won't be alone in looking for work before you get the contacts.

If you're serious about it as a career (which I presume you are, otherwise you wouldn't have paid for the course), then take a look at www.sfep.org.uk SfEP is the editing industry's official body in the UK - it's kind of like the publishing equivalent of the NUJ, but without actually being a union.

Having said all that, I now need to get back to the job I'm meant to be doing. But give me a shout if you want any more info.

Hope the rest of you are doing good - sorry so quiet at mo, but got a shed load of work on, so any spare time is really spent with Monty. xxx

Hi girls. Sorry Ive not been on for a while but been manic with work and dont have a computer so using my parents when I have time. Things are a bit rubbish with FOB atm. Getting debt collection letters to my house which is seriously frustrating. James is awesome though. Hes teething again but hes got this little thing atm where he just grabs your face and gives you a big kiss. Over and over lol. Its so lush.

Colsy - Thanks for the info. Yes I am very serious! I want it to basically allow me to swap 4 days a week in a call centre to Earl going to a CM/nursery 15 hours a week to allow me to work (should be in line with the Early Years funding etc) and then the same when the next LO comes along (when that happens - no rush lol)

LK - sorry to hear about your troubles with FOB. But glad that James is doing well. Earl is perfecting peekaboo at the moment but with a delayed Boo! at the end which is hilarious. Also if you say 'I Love You Earl' he'll come from wherever he is to kiss you :cloud9:

Morning all :flower:

LK: Sorry to hear about FOB, hope you can get the debt letters sorted. Chloe loves coming up and giving me huge hugs, she wrapps her arms around my neck :cloud9:

Colsy: It's still nice to have you pop in even though your super busy and it's totally understandable every spare moment you have, you will want to share it with Monty :flower:

Eswift, Kaites, Chaos, Nanaki, Fraggles, Craftymum, Flora, Jo, Sam, Mumof42009, Nerefet and anyone else I missed out (sorry) Hope your all okay and so are you LO's :hugs: :flower:

Chloe is in fancy dress today for Comic Relief, as much as I was tempted to send her as a pirate I didn't have any pirate type clothes so she has gone as a 'Ballerina Princess'; she does look pretty cute but I may be biased :haha: Will try and ge a pic on later.

Kte, I only come in to read threads lol. Yes me, Billy and lil bump is fine and I got an appointment to see a consultant on April 6th when I will be 16 weeks and the same Consultant when I was pg with Billy and my mum will be coming with us because of Billy.

Nothing up this week really and waiting it out for 20 weeks! I think I am in need of a holiday. :(

With everythings that going on. Long story with DH's sister in law - I have blocked her on FB and had enough of her problems. I dont let her get to me but she is carrying on saying things we cant say it back. But I did after what she said about my son's speech/listening as he is not interesting in our voices at the moment. When I said on FB to go out for the night and can't due to no one look after Billy and she offered to babysit him and I got angry because they never asked us to babysit her daughter for nearly 3 years!! Sorry about my rant! Xxx

Good morning :)

I'm still here too and read everyday too- just having one of those weeks where I'm feeling too lazy to post  Emma's good too- not much new with her either.

LK- Sorry to hear the FOB is being an @ss :hugs:

Kte- Chloe sounds cute as a ballerina princess! I dug out the Halloween costumes on Wed as something to do (rainy weather- didn't feel like dragging the kids outside in the mud) and they enjoyed playing with the hats. I think we're starting to get to the dress-up stage which will be lots of fun :)

Nanaki- Sorry to hear you are having problems with your sil :flower:

Anyway, hope everyone is well :hugs: Any special weekend plans?

:hugs: I think I remeber you mentioning before about her talking about Billy and his speaking and putting her two pence in where it wasn't wanted. She was out of order, why on earth would she think you would suddenly be okay her looking after him :shrugg: :hugs:

Glad all is well with Billy and lil Bump, I remeber it was hard waiting between appointments :flower:

Kaites: Weekend wise I have my Mum and Dad over which will be nice as I haven't seen them for almost a month now. Then Sunday its Nij's parents! I am going to turn Chloe's Halloween pumpkin PJ's into a teddy as she has outgrown it now so I am going to stuff it and stich it up :D I think Emma's duck costume was awsome! :flower:

Morning girls. Off to Santander in a few so hoping to get it all sorted. My mum is coming with me so I'm sure it will get sorted. Just not feeling at all up to it cos I've had 2 hours sleep and my IBS is giving me terrible trouble. And its raining :( Ah well. Tis 11am already so not that much longer before bed time lol. And I now have 11 days off cept for babysitting tonight.

OMG, just got to tell y'all about THE best eBay bargain. I've been looking for a Baby Jogger City Mini so I can go on the bus easily (can't get my lovely Bugaboo on the bus) but still get Monty to sleep in it - he sleeps better in a buggy if it reclines, so a Maclaren thingy wasn't any good to us.

Anyway, brand new in John Lewis they're over 200 quid. And mostly on eBay they go for somewhere between 100 and 150 quid. But you won't believe it - seriously I still can't - we got one yesterday for just over 50 quid! I am soooo pleased. I LOVE it when I get a bargain. I had really given up on buying one, because we couldn't really justify more than 100 quid on a second pram, but this is just fab.

Apart from that, nothing to report. Ooooh yes, the sun's shining :happydance:
