Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

Colsy - I know what you mean re being excited and nervous! We haven't told anyone yet so s nice to be able to mention it on here. It happened a lot quicker than we expected as I was worried it may take a while as I will be 36 this year. In the end it appended first month of trying! I always think things always appen when they are meant to happen! Am already worrying about how Phoebe will react x

we've starte the process in starting Milo in his special ed pre-school. a lady comes out next friday to observe him. then we have to schedule testing and see what they say!

hope everyone is doing fine :hugs:

Hi ladies,

How are we all today?

Can I please have a little bit of a rant - only a little one. I'm actually in a very very good mood. Today is my first day of my maternity leave, so for the next 10.5 months minimum I'm a SAHM!! :happydance: I am soooooo excited and happy and I put up a post about it. I mentioned the fact that it's 10 weeks approx until LO is here (given how Earl was late we're expecting this one to be too lol) and all the comments I've had on BnB and also from a few friends/colleagues at work and on other threads when I've mentioned about leaving at 30ish weeks, are about how they hope I don't get bored. How on earth could I get bored? I have Earl, I have my house, my house-wife duties of cooking, cleaning and generally sorting all the stuff out ready for baby. Earl goes to school and for the next 3 weeks the CM too. If I was a SAHM they wouldn't say that because I would have been at home all the time then! Would I have been bored? I suggest not.

Just annoyed me a little that being at home is 'boring' - granted most of them don't have children themselves so maybe they would see it that way, but I just find it a little odd to have this comment from so many people.

when i was prego with Milo i was working. and me and some work friends were talking. i said i wouldn't mind being at home with the baby while OH worked. one friend (who doesn't have children) said "wont you be bored?" :dohh: the other girl in the conversation has children, and she was quick to say "no!" :haha:

Bingers! Congratualtions to you as well! :flower: :hugs:

Aimee: I'm sure your over it now but pffft, people! Life is never boring with a toddler in tow! I don't know where they get the ideas from that it will be boring!! Goes to bloomin' quick in my opinion! Enjoy every moment as planned and ignore them!! :hugs:

It's just that it came from so many separate people - maybe 1 or 2 but from so many

I'm having a whale of a time. Earl is great (apart from yesterday when he found half a bag of maltesers (big bag) on my bedside table from my midnight snack and proceeded to eat the lot at 7.30am! This of course set us up for a total nightmare of a day. Much better today though - marmite on toast and milk is a much more balanced option! lol :haha:

Next thing on my agenda - sort out loft, and scan next friday! :happydance:

Hi all,

We're all very quiet. Just wanted to share my latest scan pic with you:

Hope we're all well xxx :hugs:

Milo started OT yesterday. and last weekend he said "weee" (really it was "eee") on the swing

Aww Gosh Aimee - your pregnancy is flying by! Hello Mini Earl Sibiling :flower:  5lbs at 32 weeks! Have you found out the sex or are you leaving it a surprise? Are you on MAT leave now? It was soon wasn't it!?!

Milo'sMummy: That's great news for Milo :D :flower:

Colsy / Bingers: How are you getting on? :hugs:

Well, Chloe has officially had her dummy out for an entire week now, no fuss at all, she asks and I remind her she lost them and she just kind of goes 'oh' and then is on with something else.

Colsy / Bingers: How are you getting on? :hugs:

This is how I am: https://www.babyandbump.com/pregnancy-groups/890798-november-2012-due-dates-107.html Uggggghhhhhh. (But thanks for asking :flower:)

Oh you poor thing. I feel so bad that I hardly had anything once again. Making up for it now though as I'm so tired and achey.

Hope it passes soon for you :hugs:

kte- glad to hear you got Chloe broken from her paci  i'm scared to take milo's away  although his is encouraged for oral stimulation

colsy- hope you feel better :hugs:

Colsy: I have PM'd you and I hope you start to feel better soon :flower: :hugs:

Milo's Mummy: Thanks, I was intending on doing it around 3 but she just kind of did it herself, she lost 3 dummies so I said she could take some tombilboo's to bed instead and thankfully she opted for those rather than a meltdown and it went from there, a good fluke!

Colsy ~ I'm around, mostly on FB .. just don't really have a minute to my self with 2 of them! Keep me on my toes! Bel is now nearly 6 months old. Time flies.
Congrats on your BFP!

Bingers ~ Congratulations to you also!

Kte ~ Autumn is the same with her words "Where'd Daddy go? Daddy work?" "Where'd Gramps go?" "I did it!"

The one that cracks me up the most is when you ask her what her name is. Because she can't pronounce it yet, she states "I'm girl!" "Girl and Bel!" she tells me lol.
With male/females she identifies them by mummy/daddy. We was out to lunch the other day and she sat quietly looking at the waitresses, she then told me .. "1 mummy", as she pointed to 1, then she points to another and says "2 mummies!" .. yep I said, then she looked at me, thought a second and told me "lots of mummies!" lol
She's also really interested in numbers .. she knows her numbers 1 to 10, but walks around singing them in random order all day .. her favourite combination is "2,9,2,9,2,9,6!". Strange little sausage!

How are you all? I'm still feeling  Occasionally I have a day when I think I've got round that all-important corner ... then I feel bad again the next day. Got my first scan in just under 3 weeks. Seems sooooo long. I just want to officially announce - it feels such hard work not telling people!

Colsy - Hope you're ok - good luck at the scan!

Hope we're all ok - just had to share my weekend's work. The 'nursery' (such as it is) is complete! I have sorted out all clothes up to and including 3-6m, washed them and the majority are put away. I have cleaned both bouncy chairs and the bumbo, washed the pram liner and covers ready to go on the 3D, and I've written my hospital bag lists and 90% is packed (baby bag is complete, my bag and Earl's nearly there, hubby's doesn't need doing yet lol).

Busy buys busy - piccies attached.

Kte - I have been on maternity leave 4 weeks now (or is it 5 - not sure myself) 11th March was my last day. I'm so glad I went early as I have my energy back. I think if I'd carried on I'd be broken lol. We're staying team yellow again, but it was difficult not to look and once again hubby and I think we saw 2 different things, so we're still none the wiser. I have another scan on my due date (volunteered to help the school of medicine through hubby's uni lol - free scan, free pic and free biscuits!), and I'll be keeping my eyes averted from that one lol.

Oo that sounds fab Aimee - the extra free scan  Nursery lookes lovely, must be exciting getting all the baby things back out - minus the cleaning things! But I always find cleaning baby things fun as opposed to normal things. Glad you have some of your energy back too :flower:
