Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

She's definitely the most vocal baby in the class but we've found a way to work through it. As the instructor said, you always worry that the crying is bothering others, but really, no one else cares. It's true- the other babies cry and I can ignore it but when Emma starts fussing, my pulse starts racing, lol.

Oooh, it's not just me then. You're so right though - you can ignore all the other babies, but when your own baby cries it just sounds so much louder than everything/everyone else, even though you know it isn't any different.

Forgot to mention that yoga also seems to clash with when Emma usually has a bit of a nap but we're just back from it now and she's totally conked out on the couch beside me :) I usually take a few minutes to BF her before leaving yoga so she's got something in her tummy and then she falls asleep in the car- only a 5 minute ride but after all the excitement, she falls asleep everytime :)

Mornin' Girls

Hoping you all had a good weekend. Well it looks like Autumn wanted a lay in this morning. She woke up at her normal 630 to come in to our bed. Well I woke back up at 815, showered, dressed, checked on her .. fast to sleep, so I went down stairs, made her breakfast, bottle, go up stairs at 9am .. STILL asleep!! I ended waking her up at 915am cause we had to go out at 10 lol.

So is anyone elses LO a noisy eater? Autumn has become very vocal when she eats .. and as the meal goes on it gets more intense haha. I recorded it this morning to show you what I mean:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoSp35ciTFA

Maffie ~ Thinking of you for tomorrow. Hoping it produces some good results. :hugs:
Re the Jumparoo .. it took Autumn a couple of weeks to realise she could acutally bounce.

Flora ~ You're brave leaving Harry. I'm just not ready. It's not that I don't trust people, I'd just be like you .. checking every 2 mins and I'd not enjoy my self.
Congrats on your OHs job!!

Kaites ~ Great pictures! Looks like fun. I'd be on my arse in 3 seconds haha.

LK ~ Hows things with your now EX .. is he still being a pleb?

Kte ~ Is this the child minder that was difficult about Chloes eating? She sounds like an idiot.

Eswift ~ I agree, the year has gone quick, although this time last year I bet all of us would have been saying its dragging and we wanted to hurry up and meet our LOs!! haha.

Ack, gotta cut this short .. someones making sounds like an old man having a poo .. better go sort that out!!

Love the Video Chaos, its fab!!!! ha ha really funny, George is noisy when he sees his bottle, gets loud and excited

Evening all,

I hope we're all ok.

Colsy & Maffie - hope you will be able to make it to a meet.....been trying to get it sorted for a while and I'm definitely still up for it!

We've had a nice day. Mister has had poorly teeth but the new MAM teether has been a success. He's getting the hang of grabbing it and holding it to chew - still not holding on to it for long but better than before. Also, today hubby and I had some dips and breadsticks while watching a movie, and Earl was getting rather excited so we gave him some to hold and well, straight into the mouth! :dohh: He got really upset when we took it off him again. Still, at least we have the high chair so if he continues in this ilk, we can keep up lol. Hoping his new chair should arrive tomorrow....would have thought it would be here today but nothing. His bouncy chair is going to be retired lol.

Mister is in bed already. He's taken to just instantly settling down to sleep....literally, tuck him in, give him his dummy and blanket and zonko! He's eratic with his sleeping too - has been for a while. He will sleep through but he has a dream feed which is normally 7oz and then will wake up at 6ish and guzzle another 6-7oz. He used to sleep through til gone 7 but this stopped about 3 weeks ago now and I can't see it returning.

Gonna get off now and dish us up some soup for tea......think we've settled for the night! Sometimes he will wake up a couple of times before settling but nothing so far :happydance:

Chaos that video of Autumn is just like sam having his food!! He makes so much noise too.

We went to see HV today, he's now weighing 18lb 6oz and gaining weight well, she asked if i had thought about weaning, played down a bit what we had been giving him thinking she'd just have a go at me if she knew he ate loads, instead she told me it was ok to go onto 3 meals a day and his milk. I just said ok but he's already eating that much and would eat more if i let him be a little piglet.

So far its all been homemade stuff (except the porridge) and he loves it.

We took the dog to get his boosters and microchip today - he's 14 months old and a little jack russell cross patterdale terrier (he thinks he's a rottweiler or something though lol) i had to take him in and oh my god did he cry and yelp with that microchipping needle!!!! I think he actually made more fuss than when sam had his 3 injections last week lol

Best go get Sam ready for bed now, probably wont go down till 8-8.30 but then he'll sleep till same time in the morning :)

Chaos ~ I love your video's of Autumn! Chloe sometimes makes a really satisfield noise when she first gets her bottle. Yeah same onc, so far I have problems with food, tooth and cuddles . . . hmmmm

Colsy ~ You reminded me of when I stayed overnight in hospital with Chloe, when she was born. There was 4 of us in a room and our babies took it in turn to cry, it felt like there was constant crying in the room and off the corridor, it wasn't that bad really but everytime it was Chloe crying I felt really bad, worrying she was making too much noise. Then again I wasn't annoyed with anyone else's baby! Funny isn't it, maybe that night helped me get over my public crying fear, never really thought about it like that until now :)

Maffie ~ Hope all goes well at the appointment tomorrow :flower: Would be great to see you at the meet :D

Chloe is asleep with her eyes open again, FREAKS ME OUT!! I get her ready for bed at about 7.30, I put her in her jammies and give her a last feed before bed. She is usually zonked after the feed and that is it until 1 or 2 for a 90ml feed then again until 5 for the other 90ml. Then she wakes up at 7am properly. At the mo I do it all downstairs and transport her upstairs just before I go to bed incase she did ever wake up and end up waking Nij but once she is in her own room I will take her up earlier. Her teeth / gums are playing up today had to give her some calpol and she is still a rabid bubble machine!

Best go, she is stirring :( I have bottles to make up now too ::wacko: Night all xx

Evening All...

Chaos ~ I love the video, how cool is she!?!?

Jo ~ I've to go to a weaning thing this Friday... LOL Keep thinking about sending OH or just not going... Could be some good freebies though? CC is having about 4 meals a day, think I said that yesterday... (Old age is my excuse..) Gave CC Potatoe and carrot today; so had double portions. She ate two thirds of it... Guess I'll be stick at double portions from now on; I'd rather there be left over than not enough...

Katie ~ Hope you enjoy your trip; I keep pestering OH for a weekend away before I go back to work... With OH redundancy etc we've been all go and watching the pennies... Hoping to get the caravan away for a long weekend when the weather's nicer; even if I've to book DS time off school...

Colsy ~ I try to feed CC an extra feed if I want to either disturb her routine or push her feed back; seems to work for us. Might be worth a try before Yoga. Tends to keep her happier for a while longer...

Kte ~ I so feel for you trying to keep Chloe reasonably quiet when OH's are upstairs sleeping and LO teeth are playing up... My sister brought CC a lovely teether; the classic style of keys, she's trying to hold them in her mouth; but keeps pulling her arms out then moans until she gets them back in... LOL CC sleeps sometimes with her eyes half open... LOL

CC has been really good the past couple of nights (touch wood) settled about 8pm ish woke once about 8.30 ish and then that's it until 6am ish had a feed and back asleep until 8.30 ish... Woo Hoo... Progress...

DS has had a much needed PJ day, he's played on the Play Station, watched a couple of history programmes; had a much needed shower and then to bed... He has been lovely... Makes a real big change... Maybe progress has been made there too... Fingers crossed...

Hi girls. Too tired to put a proper post tonight but thought I would let you know work went as well as could be expected although I was in High Dependency! Talk about throwing me back in at the deep end. Absolutely shattered now. Left at 5.20am and got home at 9.40pm. Off to bed so will catch up properly in the AM lol x night

Yawn

Earl had me up at 5.20 this morning so I'm already shattered! I think his next nap may have to be taken in my bed lol.....we do occasionally take naps co-sleeping (throwback from when he was a newbie lol).

Today, we're going to try to get the house up to scratch (we always try....whether we succeed or not is another matter lol).

LK - Glad to hear your day was ok. Just think, 1 down, not too many to go  Hope James was ok with family.

Earl is testing his new noise at the moment.....it's a high pitched squeal followed by a very loud cough. Sounds like a firework going off! :dohh:

Right....I'm off to make myself feel vaguely human. Not an easy task right now. Mmmmmmm Toast!

Have a nice day ladies and gents

morning ladies...

LK ~ I'm so pleased that your 1st day went well, ok thrown in the deep end could have been held until day 2... LOL I hope James lets you have a lie in...

Aimee-Lou ~ Hope you manage to grab some zzz's at some point today...

Hey ho... CC is sound asleep on the play mat, she's had breakie already; woke at 7.15 ish... DS is asking if he can have another PJ day... LOL guess he likes them... OH is zzzing away got in at 5am aww bless him... May get to see a little more of him than I did yesterday...

Did you all have your pancakes? DS had his with banana's and golden syrup, OH had his with maple syrup and I so boring I love mine with lemon and sugar... LOL... Was saying to OH the premade one's we got last year (as I couldn't cook) are still in the freezer... Guess they should be binned they were crap last year, not gonna be much better after being in the freezer... Can't beat home made ones...

Same with Monty. Aren't they noisy all of a sudden? I keep thinking Monty is crying/yelling/screaming but actually he is just "talking".

Colsy - Very Very noisy lol. He's always chattering. MIL warned me about this though as hubby apparently wouldn't shut up.....ever! When he got to a point where he could have sweets she would give him a toffee just for 5 mins peace......what have I let myself in for? :haha:

Eswift - we had pancakes....lemon and a little bit of sugar for me too as I'm still off everything sweet, but I like that the best anyway. Hubby had chocolate spread, cherry jam, golden syrup and lemon and sugar......I think we had about 8 each in the end :dohh: - diet is goin well  lol

we had pancakes....lemon and a little bit of sugar for me too as I'm still off everything sweet,

How come you're off sweet stuff? Not morning sickness is it?! (Don't answer if you'd rather not!)

I bloody well hope not (don't think it hasn't occurred to me lol)

I've not been able to eat anything vaguely sweet for about 6 weeks. To start with it was things like chocolate, puddings etc but now it's everything - even tinned soup has a strange taste. It all has a chemically aftertaste and makes me feel really queasy. I'm fine with savouries though so I guess it can only help with the diet lol. Hubby had joked about getting me a HPT for v-day (got our BFP with Earl on V-day) but he knew he'd get divorce papers in retrurn if he did :haha:

oooh aimee sounds like you need to test

Colsy yep i agree noisy they are, Noah chatters all day, if i chatter to him he chatters and smiles with the odd laugh thrown in, if i leave him to get on wiht it he gets frustrated wanting the interaction I think.

Just had some baby rice and boy did he love that, so porridge and baby rice are a hit. he certainly understands the concept of open mouth aim at spoon close mouth

Morning girls. Aimee - test lady test!

Well so much for my lie-in. James had me up at 6.30am. Hes just had his 2nd bottle of the day and gone down for a nap. Was gonna join him but have too much to do :(

Don't say that girls....it's taken me the best part of a week to convince myself not to as I've had 3 periods since Earl was born and I don't have any other symptoms....apart from my tummy going hard again, but this could all be digestion related......sigh.....I'll get hubby to pop to boots :dohh: NOT a good thing to get a BFP now and I've been a relatively good girl with my pills........Oh bugger!

In other news....after Earl's escapades with a breadstick we've decided to try him on some baby rice next Monday (17 weeks precisely). I'm not normally one to follow things to the letter, but for some reason, food is really important to me and I really don't want to rush things, but lets just say that he tried to nab my toast again this morning and I think he's getting frustrated at getting so close, but not getting to eat it! lol

Oh, best be off.....monster calls! lol :cloud9:

Its probably digestive aimee but best to be sure. My tummy is all solid again atm but I'm putting it down to being due on cos I've not DTD since the day my period started!
