Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

Morning ladies, Well ive got a cute little boy here giving me loads of smiles today posted a pic of his cheeky smile on facebook and just lookign at it makes me  with happiness. Feeling very blessed to have such a lovely baby.

Going to start sorting through a load of stuff today, I need to declutter and make cash. Just trying to decide do I go for selling things individually on ebay or in bulk bundles

Right better crack on with it all, have a lovely day ladies, im sure i'll be back later

:hugs:

We're off to collect her a Jumperoo this afternoon; I've looked at the door hanging one, I've only one door way that we could use. That's the kitchen door, and we use the kitchen back door as our front door. So, not really a good idea to have her dangling in a busy through way... Another ebay bargain... (I know we couldn't afford a new one...)

Have a great day, oh; Happy Valentine's Ladies...

Do let us know how CC enjoys (or not) her new Jumparoo. I am also thinking of getting one off eBay, but don't want to spend lots of money if people think they're not worth it at this age. We got some local paper bargains yesterday - an almost brand new Baby Bjorn Active (the sort with a proper back support) and a Graco swing for the total of 35 quid. Methinks this is v cheap?

Morning ladies

No luck finding a chair but I think I'm going to order a Link-a-doo's as I can't find anything vaguely suitable otherwise. I know they have mixed reviews but I'd rather he be comfortable and use the kick-stand it has, than squeeze him into something that may give way at any minute lol. I'm still looking for a walker/jumperoo as there was literally nothing at the car boot - got a liquidiser which we've been needing for about 2 years lol, for £4! Brand new and everything lol. But nothing for Earl so we're going to the shops tomorrow - BNB meet in York  - so will pop into mothercare/M&P etc and see what we've got.

Anyway, Earl is a lot better today and has expanded. He did really well while we were out though. Had his breakfast bottle at 6.45, then didn't get his next one til 10.30!!! He'd normally be screaming the house down but only a little bit of whinging before polishing off the whole 7oz bottle lol. I think he enjoyed going around the car boot but looked a bit annoyed at all the randoms smiling at him lol......put on a proper grumpy face lol.

Eswift and Colsy - well done on the bargains! I appear to have lost my touch although I've managed to win a ladies winter coat for £4.50 yesterday. Really nice M&S one. Got a few bits of clothes for Earl but I'm finding the larger stuff more difficult to come by as I'm unable to pick up so rely on postage ones. :nope: I need a high chair too.....d'oh! :dohh:

Autumn has one and LOVES it!! She's in it now, screeching lol

This was her in it a few weeks back:

Oh God, I'm so hungover. I had 3 friends over last night. Damn that bottle of wine. Urgh!!!

Maffs ~ I saw the smiling big. Totally adorable!! :) Selling things individually will get you more cash I think?

Aimee
~ Thats great that Earl is going longer between feeds!

Ok I need to get some food in me, see if it will make this self inflicted headache go lol.

Hey girls,

Haven't been on for a while.

Aimee Lou we might be moving to Norwich too! I've just been offered a part-time teaching job in a fab primary school there, starting in the summer term. Hubby's got an interview for a job up there too. His parents live there and they'd be happy to help out with childcare which is great and we're desperate to get some more space we're in a small 2 bed flat in London..so hopefully it all goes ahead!

Isla's 15 weeks now, still waking for food quite a bit in the night so roll on weaning!

She's getting more and more smiley which is lovely and loves grabbing and biting her toys.

Hope everyone's well and happy Valentine's day - we're having the Waitrose meal deal later can't wait!

xx

Colsy ~ Went and collected the jumperoo, CC's been in it and loves it; the one we've got is a horse... It neigh's, plays music and sounds as though it's galloping too... (Only paid £14.50, kind of think it's money well spent)

Aimee-Lou ~ Happy shopping; let me know if you do another York BnB meet. I'd be up for that... Some of the highchairs aren't too badly priced even with delivery; I must admitte I've looked at one's close by. Managed to get a Cosatto Highchair for £15... Couldn't have even looked at them new...

Panda ~ CC's doing really very well with the weaning; good luck for when you start... I couldn't keep up with her demands, hence us starting early; at least this way I'm still Bfing and she (and I are getting more sleep)... Good luck with the new job...

Chaos ~ Autumn looks so happy and she's so adorable...

Evening all,

Chaos ~ seeing Autumn in her Jumperoo makes me wish there was an adult size one :haha: Hope your feeling a little less delicate now, slightly jealous lol

Aimee~ Have fun at the meet tomorrow, gutted I can't come. So not in the mood for work tomorrow, I got the Sunday blues, its depressing thinking about it. Maybe when I am back in my own office things will feel better  Anyway, shut up me, have a good time :D Bless upside down Earl pic :flower:

Eswift~ Id be up to meet in York too. Glad CC likes her jumparoo, maybe something we should have got Chloe? Her feet now touch the bottom of her car bouncer though so need to get some batteries and see how she gets on in it. We got Chloe's high chair today, don't blame you for giving CC's a good deep clean :)

Well Chloe went to sleep at about 8.30 and slept through to six  She ate 90ml then went back to sleep so I got to lie in to 8am :happydance:

Evening girlies and bubs. OMG I nearly cried earlier. James was giggling absolutely hysterically at me. All I was doing was flicking my head round to grin at him and I've never heard him laugh so hard in my life! It was amazing and even though I didn't think it was possible, I think I fell in love with him even more :)

little kitten Jacob does this too, it's so funny. We were out yesterday and Jacob needed fed so we went into a cafe and my hubby lifted him out of his pram onto his knee, Jacob just looked at me and I smiled and he started giggling like mad which then had me and half the other customers in the place laughing too. It is so adorable when they giggle!
chaosWe bought a door bouncer today and Jacob seems to love it, but after seeing your video of Autumn I'm really wondering should I invest in a jumperoo :)

Morning all, I have only sat Noah in his jumperoo once i'll have to put it together this afternoon and give it a whirl.

Off to the docs this morning for me, hope it warms up a bit brrr I love winter but im ready for some sunshine.

Morning girlies. Argh I'm so anxious today. Starting back at work tomorrow and cos I have to commute to Oxford I will be leaving at 5.15am and getting back home at about 9.30pm :( Seriously worried about it and hating hating hating the thought of leaving James for all that time. Not even gone yet and I can't wait to be home again lol.

Morning all,

Maffie, hope doc appointment goes well :hugs:

LK :hugs: Its not easy but its the best feeling when you get home again for cuddles, makes it worth it. How long do you have to commute for?

Im at work today, dropped Chloe off at the Childminders for the morning before Nij goes and collects her. She was in a good mood this morning. I am a little upset, not sure if its too strong a word for the situation really. I am not in my usual office at the moment, I'm hot desking until the temp who covers me leaves. I am in with two other women and one of them made a drink for herself and the other the other lady and didn't even offer me one. It's not my office or my tea coffee pot but you would have thought it would have been nice to offer? I'm not going to drink them dry! Makes me feel a bit crap, its my boss too! Everyone was so welcoming at first and now . . . I dunno. Normal, but I am still adjusting.

Best get on, got lots of papers to print.

Hope everyone else is having a better day :D

So, everybody who's got a Graco swing told me it would be the best thing I ever bought. Can't say I agree so far. Monty has sat in it a few times, but he's not exactly desperate to be in there. Maybe I just need to persevere and eventually he'll decide he loves it. Any of the Bumpkins use one? What do your babies think of it? Did it take a few attempts before they decided they liked it?

Re Jumparoos, all I can find online are Fisher Price Rainforest Jumparoos, and they're expensive. Are there other brands that also make jumparoos? If so, any suggestions would be welcome. (As I haven't seen a jumparoo of any type in the flesh, it's hard to know what I'm actually looking for.) Again, did it take a while for your LO to get used to it, or did they love it straight away?

Finally, any info on when the Northern Bumpkins meet is planned for? I think there was talk of meeting at Meadow Hell (I mean 'hall' of course, ha ha).

OMG, that's a LOOOOONG day. You don't plan to do this for too long do you, LK? Is James staying with a family member, or do you have to take him to nursery? Hope you find a better solution soon :hugs:

Third post on the trot - I keep forgetting things and then returning to the thread!

Funny happening of the day - Monty was on the changing mat on the floor with a cloth nappy on, and I could hear this funny sort of ripping noise. When I looked, he'd got hold of the Velcro tab that does up the nappy and he was trying to undo it, LOL. After several attempts, he actually undid the nappy. (I realise this wasn't intentional, but it's cute to think he really was trying to undo it!)

Colsy ~ CC's got the Gracco swing, she enjoy's sitting in there; when we're all at the dinner table and she's not eating. Or I move it upstairs when there's not one home and I'm in need of a shower; I can still see her on the top landing... I guess it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but CC's only whinged a couple of times about going in it; when she's tired and doesn't want to sleep... Mum's arms are better any day...

The Jumperoo I managed to get was a Galloping Jumperoo by Fisherprice... (Seen a couple by mothercare...) I just put jumperoo in on ebay and filter through distances close by... Some are very very expensive...

I got her leapfrog groove thing the same way; I've found if I set myself a limit as to what I'd be happy paying I don't feel too bad... Limit I set for the jumperoo was £30 and the leapfrog... Managed to get jumperoo for £14.50 and leapfrog was £26... If I get out bid I get out bid... (think they've paid too much or think it's worth more than I do...) Highchair was £15 and I'd given myself £30 limit... Happy hunting...

LK ~ Hope you have a great 1st day back; safe journey too... I know the hours are long, just make sure you still get enough rest too... Keep looking for sommat closer... I'm sure something will come up soon...

Kte ~ Sounds like an awkward situation to be in, hope they make you feel a little more involved in their little secret squirel society soon... It's horrid feeling as though you don't fit...

Right best go get noisey her lunch...

I got mine 2nd hand for 18 bucks .. about 10 quid! I refuse to pay full price for baby items at the moment as they grow out them so fast. Look on Ebay for 2nd hand ones.

Well Chloe is home and she is very shouty today!!!!! OMG my head is banging (not sure if its Chloe shouting or my wisdom tooth that got removed)

:(

Afternoon all, well went to docs im booked in for an ECG on Wednesday as BP is getting a bigger difference in each arm and pulse is very weak on one side. Must say I didnt like the sound of that. Hopefully what ever it is will be easy to sort/fix etc.

I got my jumperoo second hand no way could I afford a new one, same as my swing (I got the link-a-doos magical mobile swing).
