Good morning ladies!

How's everyone's day going? Not much on the go here. I think we're going to walk over to my parents place this afternoon if the weather holds and steal their car. They offered it to me while they are abroad for the week so I might as well take them up on the offer and get some of the errands done that I've been putting off. I thought my mum was insane for buying a car seat for their car, but honestly it's come in handy.

Kte- Hope you're okay hun :hugs: I'm not 100% sure we'll have another baby either. Somedays I really want another and other days I think things are perfect with just Emma  Hubby is the same so I guess we'll just wait and see- we can't ttc until January at the earliest anyway (I'll be self-employed by then but paying into benefits and have to wait 12 mths from going back to work to put through another mat leave claim) so we've got a while to talk about it.

Jo- no teeth here either- I think we are super close though. I'm hoping anyway since we've been teething since about 10 weeks too! There is one tooth along the bottom front that is just barely covered by the gums.

Aimee- Hope you feel better soon :hugs: No experience with rats- I just know they creep me out, lol. It's their tails that make my skin crawl. The rest of them is cute enough though :haha: We're trying to use the cat as a "pets are part of the family" learning experience too. Emma just lights up when Beasty walks in the room, so I guess it's working :)

Chaos- eek 5:45am! Autumn, let your mummy sleep in!!

Maffie- lots of sticky vibes and I hope your doc's appt goes well tomorrow :hugs:

Flora- yay Harry for making the transition to his room well! We're still struggling with it a bit- most nights Emma will settle in her room but then she wakes up around 1am for a feed and then won't resettle in her room. It's like she misses Mum and Dad and wants to be back in our room.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Hey ladies,

Just a quick one from me, I do read your posts pretty much everyday  just never join in...going to try make more of an effort though, even if its just to say HI!

Theo is doing great, he is sitting up unaided now for about 10 mins max, then he gets tired and starts wobbling, normally falls over if i'm not there and hits his head ... still no teeth, little gummy bear! Can roll the whole way across the living room to get to things he wants :haha: ... also hes on 3 meals a day and a mid afternoon snack!! Little piggy!

Had him weighed today and he now weighs 19lb exactly ! DD didn't weight 19lb till she was 1, so its a big shock, Theo is just sooo different!

Onto me, I got accepted onto a college course today to do an access course in Health professionals :happydance::happydance: i'm soooo happy, will start in September, can't wait!! Finally on track to my dream of becoming a midwife! :D

Maffie - Congrats! :flower:
Kte- sorry to hear your going through abit of a rough patch right now, I hope things get sorted :hugs:

Hello to everyone else, can't remember who posted what now :dohh:!

Oh I know someone said something about sex drives & i'm sooooo relieved its not just me!! Think we have DTD about 3 times since Theo was born, my friend was horrified & asked how our relationship was still going :-s ....luckily DP isn't too bothered, he sleeps on the couch most nights as Theo somehow crawls into our bed ...:haha:, we still have plenty of cuddles and kisses though watching films etc...I just can't be bothered with sex right now

Hi girls,
Taking me SO long to catch up with this thread...
Congrats Maffie!

Thought I would pop by and add a picture of Thomas as he's getting big and it doesn't seem like 3 minutes ago we were all talking about sickness and itching and things!! He's had a horrible cold this weekend which is been difficult in the nights and feeding as he's so snuffly. We're hoping to start BLW properly this month. Not much else to report - just that he's just turned 7 months and 18lbs 8oz now!! And he is getting hair! :happydance: I'm hoping to stay off for the summer if we can afford it..

Well - will try to stick around a bit more. Take care for now xx

Thats pretty much the same as the course im doing :)

:happydance: We have a tooth!!! :happydance:

Emma woke up from her morning nap with just a little bit of pearly white poking through! So weird because over the past few days she hasn't been grumpy, chewing or drooling  I would have thought that she'd have shown some signs of it coming through- it's like the shifting that happened prior to the tooth being ready to come through is what caused her discomfort but the actual tooth erupting didn't bother her at all. She's growing up too fast

Hello all, hope were all well, have i missed much, Georges christening was great, he was really good all day, got lots of gifts.
Huge congrats Maffie, hoping your feeling ok, have i missed anyone else whos pregnant, will u be due roughly the same time again

Awww Chaos - is she ok? It's ok though, they do start to get injuries now as they get more mobile. Earl fell off the sofa right in front of me the other day. What makes it worse is that I was filming him at the time so I have video evidence!

Kaites - Wooohoooo on the tooth! I'm so jealous lol.

Congrats to Jo and Mellie on the college courses. My hubby is starting a 4 year foundation degree in September - kind of wish it was me as I miss studying (weird statement I know ) but I need to work to keep us afloat.

I don't really know what's going on with Earl's sleeping at the moment. He is sooooo awake, he's obviously doing some major growing up at the moment. The past 2 days though we've had trouble getting him to sleep at his bedtime. He'll have a big nap from 11ish til 1ish, then by 4 he's shattered so he'll have a short nap, then still be awake at 8pm!! :dohh: If he doesn't have that short nap by 5 he's completely and utterly overtired and a nightmare, so I don't really know what to do for the best. He was still full of beans at 8pm last night (eventually went down at 8.45!). He woke at 1am for a feed then woke at 5.30 for the day. I had kind of hoped that he'd sleep a bit more as I'm utterly shattered and need a nap myself lol  I'm going to try to keep him awake but keeping it all low-key this afternoon. Going to be difficult as hubby is the most exciting thing ever! lol

Morning all,

Chaos: Awh poor Autumn, hope she is okay. :hugs: I have had Chloe flop backwards when sat down and not land on a pillow and that is bad enough. Like some have said, guess now they are more mobile there will be more bumps ahead of us - cuddles at the ready! :flower:

Jo & Mellie: Congrat's with your courses :flower: I am finishing a course next year but it's Educational Admin, not the most exciting but it's my job and if I ever want to progress here I need it. I dunno if I should be going in a new direction or not but I want to at least finish what I started.

Neon:  Happy 7 months to Thomas

Kaites: Hurray for Emma's tooth! :happydance: Chloe's still hasn't appeared yet, though it was so close, she got the tiny bit of canine one that appeared at 3 months but nothing else, the front one just won't come . . . hope it just pop's up like Emma's!

Aimee: Hope you manager to get Earl to take a nap and/or sleep better. :hugs:

Chloe has decided to wake every 2hrs at the moment but last night she woke up at 1.30 then 2.30 - I mean I have heard of sleep regression but thats crazy, I was worried I would have to get up and start making bottles at silly o'clock! Her day naps seem fine though, seems to be a hunger thing, even though she ate breakfast, usual bottles, butternut squash and pear

UGH she did the most gross explosion this morning when we were all ready to set off for nursery/work, in fact we were early! Just about to set off and BOOM! Everywhere, all down her legs, up her back, seaping from her nappy, all over her freashly put on outfit! I rushed to get her a new outfit and clean her best I could, she really needed a bath so I felt guilty I couldn't do this and had to scrub her with a million baby wipes, when she was rolled over I couldn't help but laugh, she was just on her side, chilled like a good little girl and her little bum sticking up made me smile! :haha: Bless.

Kte - thanks. Is Chloe eating at every waking? Gotta love the 6 month growth spurt....they don't tell you about that one. Everyone warns you about the 4 month one but the 6 month one has been more disruptive for us with teething etc.

Earl has got my cold  He is all sniffly, runny nose and tired. He woke me at 5.30 this morning like I say. By 7.30 he was back in bed and didn't wake til 10. He's starting to look tired again but I'm hoping to keep him up until 1 so I can feed him then pop him down. He's had calpol and has an extra jumper on to keep him warm (as well as socks but we'll see how long they last! lol) - Poor munchkin, he's never been ill before, although he doesn't seem to be suffering, just breathing through his mouth all the time which makes drinking interesting....he keeps taking deep breaths, drinking as much as he can, then taking a few seconds to breathe, then repeat lol.

Oh yes, every waking, normally 11.30, 1.30, 3.30, 5.30 then sometimes a snack at 7.30 before off to nursery

Hope Earl feels better soon too. Would saline drops just before a feed help? I have done that with Chloe's colds, she hates it but makes eating after a bit easier :flower:

Mornin' girls,

Well she seems none the worse for wear this morning .. she slept 13 hours too lol (6 to 7! Mama enjoyed the 'layin'). I had taken her upstairs to get her in her bath, but she was asleep, so I popped her on our bed whilst I ran to her room to grab her sleep sack, well she must have woken cause I just heard a big thud. (lucky our floors made of sheets of wood so not super hard) I ran in there and she was on her back on the floor crying. I think it must have scared her more than hurt as she stopped crying when I picked her up. Gave me a heart attack too. Made me feel especially bad because she had just had 2 jabs that day. (She's 17lb 8oz now, was 16.9 a month ago!)

Today we're going to a place called The Little Gym. My friend just opened it up here. It's basically a child development gym and they have different classes for different ages. This one has 2 of her little boyfriends in it, so should be fun haha. Then we're gonna go to my friends house so she can splash in the pool.

Aimee ~ Oh that video evidence did make me chuckle a lil ;) Everyone has been telling me its a rite of passage lol. I hope Earl feels better .. do you have 'baby vicks' back home? Is less strong than our adult burn your nose! It really helped lil miss when she was a great big snot ball .. I remember my Nan used to put those vicks capsules on my pillow when I was sick. LOVED those things!!!

You know, when Autumn did that with her naps it took me ages to figure out what she was trying to do (as her bedtime was at 8 or 9pm at that point) and it turned out she was actually bringing her bed time forward to 6pm!! Do you think when he's super tired at 5 or 6 he'd settle for the night if you tried to put him to bed then? If I try to keep her up past 6 and ignore her tired cues, like you say with Earl, she's a total nightmare with being over tired and is really hard to get to sleep and has an unsettled night. Generally now she'll go to bed at 6pm, sleep to 6ish, then naps at 9am for between 45 mins to 2 hours then another nap at 1pmish .. this is generally her long 2 hour one. Although as of late she's been making this shorter and shorter .. I think she might be going to 1 nap. NOT allowed. Mama needs ME time in the day!! lol.

Kte ~ Omg don't you just hate those 40 year old trucker poos??? Someone likes to do that just as I'm going to the Chiropractor! With out fail! Its like she KNOWS!!! Last week it was all on her white outfit, my sofa, her legs, her back, my hands, THEN she did a death roll. Urgh!!! Gross! How can such a small creature crap SO MUCH?!?

Ok I need to get my day started!

:hugs: to little autumn. :hugs:

second night in his own room went pretty well too- woke at 1:45 & 6:30 then slept in with me till 10am. My body appears to have given up on me & I amj unablen ton see, stand, function etc till after 9am these days- i feel totally wiped out for a-parent reason. still, ive had a productive day shredding old paperwork, bank statements, bills etc. and found out that harry is terrified of black binliners while disposing off the shreddings! he howled likeb a baby wolf!!!

anyway, i'm starving so better go get some lunch down me/in me!

Chaos - I don't think his bedtime is coming forward although if he needs an early night tonight I will do that - it's already at 7pm (give or take half an hour). He slept for 2.5 hours this morning, lasted until 12.45, and has so far been down for over an hour! This is very unlike him so I'm putting it down to his cold - all I do is sleep when I'm ill....it's handy in a way as it means you recoever quicker. Thing is I can't get myself to bed so I'm still sniffly.

I am hoping though that we're onto just 2 naps a day now as his 3rd nap has been causing small issues for about a month but he is miserable without it. Hoping that these 'big sleeps' today will help to set a new benchmark!

Glad that Autumn was ok. It is a right of passage, you're right. Once they've fallen off/over once, you're on the ball afterwards, but up to that point I was so complacent and never really realised just how so.

Kte/Chaos - I often ask the same question. When we were mid teething problems he was eating less yet managing to fill 4-5 nappies a day  - some of them were 'interesting' but I don't think we've had any nappy 'explosions' since he was about 2 months....it was doozie though, so I think I paid my dues that day lol. Earl's carseat and highchair seem to have a laxative effect on him though....whenever we go anywhere I have to change him immediately on arrival lol. All the family think he permanantly smells everso slightly of poop!

 Yeah why do they feel the need to smear it in more and grab it?!? I put her nappy to one side and I could see her hands going for it :dohh:

She was fine for ages and then last week came home twice in babygrows (her emergency spare clothes) as she had done it there too!

Afternoon all, I think we've skipped the 6 months growth spurt although he did start having 2 night feeds a night but those have now gone and for the last 2 night his early morning feed at 5am as gone so he's going roughly 8.30pm - 7am

Went to see doc today to start ball rolling with this baby and he kept trying to talk termination I was so upset and angry at him, and he had a feel at my back as its still hurting from the fall I had with the pram a few weeks back and he thinks my coccyx is fractured.

Maffie - I would have been angry too. I suppose they have to talk about it but they do have a tendency to just carry on and not listen to you. I hope that your back feels better soon :hugs:

Chaos - Thank you :flower: I have put Earl to bed as he was shattered and he's gone straight to sleep. I know he'll be awake in a couple of hours as he hasn't had any milk since 2pm but he didn't want any when I put him to bed. Bless his little cotton ones...he's growing up very fast just recently...he's started to shimmy his bottom around when he's on his tummy. But, maybe I was wrong to dismiss him moving his bedtime.....now, if this carries on I'm going to have to shift it, but on the plus side, he may start to sleep better and later

Burger and chips for tea - burgers from the butchers so not naughty....honest

Hmmm spoke too soon. :dohh:

He woke up after about 45 mins, looking for his bottle. Poor little thing couldn't drink it....his teeth are playing up again now as well as being all stuffed up so I eneded up bringing him downstairs and giving him a couple of oz in a beaker. He's wide awake though (and drenched lol) but hubby has gone to get him changed and to try to get him back down to sleep. I'm not that optimistic if I'm honest.

Arghhhhh he used to be so good......when will this phase end?
