OK, so I just had a loooonnng & tearful conversation with my boss & she was really great! I feel so much better. My shifts are still a bit pants, but it's the best she can do & with the economy being the way it is, social services wont let her hire anyone new unless one of us quites, so she's kinda stuck atm too, espcially since one of the girls on maternity leave at the moment is only coming back on 16hours instead of 39 & the other pregnant girls went on maternity leave last week & doesn't know when she'll be back...
She's giving me a week 1 rota only, rather than the 2 week scedule, so at least that's good & she's compromised on some of the shifts, so now, when I go back, I'll be doing mon 4-10pm (on my own), tues off, weds 8am-4pm, thur 8-4pm, fri off, and every other weekend doing sat 7am-2pm & sun 2pm-10pm. Still not the greatest of hours, but much better than the first ones she gave me. At the worst, it'd mean using a CM for the weds-thurs shifts, getting a permanant babysitter for the mondays, then OH take over from her when he gets in, and the weekends I have to work and OH is not working, he can look after Harry, and the ones where he is working, I will either have to use a CM or Harry could possibly sleep over at my sister's or her & her 2 boys could sleep here at mine in the spare room... (Kinda thinking out loud, lol)
Once OH gets paid next week, we can get a better picture of our finances & if it's feasable, I may try & drop either the sat or sun shift. The only other option she could offer me was night shifts (10pm-8am) but I dont want to do those, as night shifts killed me last time I did them & I only lasted 4 months before I quit, lol.
Oh well, at least I feel like I'm making headway. And as for the pumping at work, she said so long as I'm not on my own during a shift, I could lock the office door & she would buy me one of those lockable money box type things that I could keep & store my milk in the freezer so that the service users couldn't get to it or anything, so that's pretty helpful too.
anyways..... I'll be quiet now. (until the next thing pisses me off!) Thanks for the advice & support everyone- it really helps, ya know?
