Hope everyone is having a good day :) We were off to an early start thanks to the sun- Emma has blackout blinds but honestly, the sun still kinda halos around the window, and she knows sun=wake up time. I think we are going to attempt to mow the lawn this aft and finally fill the little pool in the backyard- I keep procrastinating with the pool. It's definitely hot enough for a swim- Emma's just wearing a nappy today- but I figure it'll take a couple days for the water to get to a decent temperature so maybe by Monday we'll be chillaxing in the water

Kte- Those pics of Chloe are gorgeous! That's good that she's settling well in her travel cot- I'm sure if it was warm last night, having the extra room for air to circulate is nice for her too.

Maffie- Sounds like Emma when she's has too much foremilk too. Unless he's been eating lots of spinach :haha: Emma's been snacking lots in the heat too- it's driving me crazy! She'll pop on for about 30 seconds and then go back to wanting to play with toys and then 2 min later want more boob  I gave her water yesterday too.

Colsy- I replied in the BF section about biting. RE spices, I've introduced some hotter foods (Emma's had chilis and curries) with mixed results. The chili was a bit too hot and she cried a few times but she calmed down after a drink of water. She was fine with the curry though. I keep plain yogurt in the fridge now so that if it seems like something is too spicy, I'll mix a little into her food to help cool the heat. It's worked well, even if it's made for some weird food combos (like arrabiata pasta with yogurt). Emma is always rubbing her eyes and nose while eating too. Emma is the same with the crawling too- hardly ever rolls but is making some attempts to crawl if put on her tummy  Emma still doesn't nap in her cot- only sleeps there at night. For naps, she'll sleep on either our bed or a mattress in the guest bedroom (both are mattresses on the floor so no big falls if she rolls off- which she hasn't done so far anyway). I hope the transition goes well for you :flower:

Chaos- I hope Miss Autumn is feeling better and you manage to get some rest after your long night too :hugs: Have fun at the carnival!

I hear the sounds of a waking baby- best be going!

Afternoon all well Noah is finally asleep I think the heats bothering him today. I think we might skip the sleeping bag tonight and none of our bedroom windows will open :grr: stupid landlord and his stupid house.

Must get some usmmer clothes for Noah as its way too hot for all his dungas. He seemed much happier when we switched into a little short legged romper today. He's also a rolling machine. :haha: I'll be happy when the crawling starts he might be a bit less frustrated. The number of times he gets all hot and bothered and huffing and grunting with his crawl attempts

Kte the pictures are lovely, i'm having some done of Noah but thankfully free as OH is branching out more into photography, he's got some clients booked and he needs more portfolio pictures so Noah is gonna be a model

I heard from eswift on FB laptop problems, but sounds like life is still hectic.

Kaites not tried spinach yet so definitely not that. It's bit of a pain the constant need of a quick suck on the boobie for a minute just to quench my first mummy.

Colsy sorry to hear Monty is biting, we had one bite weeks ago and I put him down for a few minutes then put him back to BF and was fine. I hope he stops soon for you. I have read that its most common to happen towards the end of the feed and to watch for signs before they do it and unlatch.

Well I called the Dr and they want to see her at 245. They said 102.2 is too high for it to be teething. They said the reason its gone down to 100.7 is because of the Motrin (Calpol) so they want to check her out for the weekend. She aint really got any other symptoms, Shes had a bit of watery poop the last few days that gave her a bit of nappy rash, but I put that down to fruit as that tends to happen with her.

You watch, by the time we get there it will be back to normal lol.

Kte ~ Those pics are adorable!!

Oh no! I hope she's okay and it goes away quickly! :hugs:

Hope everyone has a good Friday night :) I'm impatiently waiting for hubby to get home- I want a beer but don't want to drink alone :haha: I got the grass mowed and then had another picnic with Munchkin. Still didn't get the pool set up- I realized that a 12 foot diameter is actually pretty big  Don't know what we were thinking buying one that big- it's going to take up so much room :dohh: On the bright side, I'll have less grass to cut next time :happydance: I guess that's why they suggest 2 people for installation too- my excuse for procrastinating :) Happy Friday

Its called Roseola btw.

Her fever peaked at 103.7 last night. Is at 102.5 right now. This totally sucks :( Shes so quiet .. no smiles. Is odd :(

Aww poor Autumn :hugs: Wow, that's a high fever. Has the rash developed yet? Roseola sucks since it's contagious before any symptoms appear- not like you can really protect your baby from catching it. I hope she feels better quickly!

Afternoon ladies,

hope everyone is ok.

Chaos - Poor Miss Autumn. I hope that she feels better soon. :hugs:

It's really hot here but thankfully it's not muggy. There's a nice breeze which is keeping us nice and cool, but it's so nice to be able to go out in the sunshine. Earl and I took our afternoon snack out onto the field at the back of the house. We were there for over an hour watching the world go by and the birds dipping the school's nature pond......nice for Earl to see so much going on. Posted some pics. We found a red ball on the field (the school just leaves it's equipment out for the village children to play with) and Earl loved it....I was tempted to steal it and take it back tomorrow lol. I took some piccies nad video as we were walking around kicking the ball and he was laughing his head off.....not sure why it was funny, but it was definitely funny lol.

Earl is at that grunty stage too with crawling. He's getting closer and closer though. You can see dayling between his tummy and the ground now and his knees are taking some weight. I'm waiting for the stage when he's up on all fours....then I'll start to panic. Although he's getting quite good at pushing himself backwards! :dohh:

We're off the seaside tomorrow....going to visit hubby's grandparents at their caravan at Bridlington for a cuppa and may sneak for an ice cream or 3 lol. They're really close to a quiet little beach so we're going to take a mat and things and have a bit of time in the sand. I think Earl will like it...we'll soon see lol.

Must make him a new sun hat tonight (shouldn't take too long - hmmm we'll see lol) as he only has the one and it's his nemo one (in the pics) and it doesn't go with half his clothes lol (as you can see in the pics lol)

Anyway, must go....nearly time for dinner. Cottage pie with steamed brocolli....yummers!!

Have a lovely day ladies, and enjoy the rest of the weekend. And don't forget to slip, slop, slap!!

Colsy - I don't know if this had anything to do with it or if it was just plain luck but I let Chloe nap still in the moses basket but put her upstairs in the cot for bed time. Then last week, once I knew she could settle in the cot I just started taking her up to the cot. I sat with her for the first few times and now I know I can leave her and pop back if needs be but she is usually asleep.

Aimee: Slip Slop Slap? Im confused! Gorgeous pics

Chaos: Poor Autumn! Hope she makes a speedy recover and is back to her normal chirpy self :flower:

Well i'm kind of moody even though really I shouldn't be. My Sis is coming to the city near where I live for a night out and she invited me and Chloe to join them for a curry. Her original plan was to set off from hers and arrive in the city at around 2pm. I would meet up later after Nij's visit and we would go eat. So I text her and she hasn't even set off yet! She won't get there until 6.30. Now I can't be bothered but I still have to go, thing is we were going to a curry house, I thought she had planned which one but she isn't sure and I am now worried as I don't ever remember there being highchairs in a curry house. I don't really want Chloe sat in her car seat the whole time. TO rub salt in the wound I know Nij's is at his mates house enjoying the sun and a BBQ. The best I get is sat on my own, well with Chloe but no offence to her its different from adult company, in my shady back garden. A complete flop to what was planned. Oh and now I have had to go back in because Chloe got bored of the toys I had taken outside and the garden is a mess, I had to put a sheet down before I put her toys down. Now the from room I vac'd this afternoon as cat fur all over it so I can't even put her down on the carpet yet ARRRRRRRRR! Sorry just needed to vent. Its only little things I know but they seriously get to me sometimes.

BEst go, Chloe grumping again but Isuspect its food related now :dohh:

:hi: all, hope everyone's enjoying the weather.

Chaos, hope little Autumn gets better soon, bless her.

Kaites, 12 foot does sound HUGE, lol. Harry's got a little pirate ship inflatable thingy that can be used as a paddling pool or a ball pit. I got it for my nephew a couple of years ago, & they only ever used it inside with the balls, so it's still pretty much brand new. Can't wait to see what it's like as a pool! :)

Kte, those pics are beautiful; Chloe is very photogenic :)

Aimee, Earl looks like he enjoyed being outside.

Well, we finished the spare room today, all the painting is done & new skirting boards nailed back on, ceiling painted etc. Just got to vacuum it all now (plaster bits & dust), buy wardrobes & a new double bed & that's everything done in there. Just our room & the hallways to do now. I'll be sooooo glad once this darn house is finished. :)

We're having a BBQ now, so I will no doubt be full as a pig, lol.

Maffie, Happy 7mths to Noah :)

Oooh, meant to add, gave Harry some cous cous last night & boy did he LOVE it! He was spooing up[ handfuls of the stuff & yelling for more :dohh:

Kte - Slip Slop Slap is the Australian sun safety slogan.

Slip on a T-shirt, Slop on some cream, Slap on a hat  I'm a terror for sun safety as I'm really fair and now Earl is too I'm even worse lol.

Sorry to hear about your plans falling through - if you do go I hope you have a good time. If you don't get yourself a takeaway to make up for it.

Oh goodness, Earl has managed to put the Japanese news channel on the Sky. I left the sky remote on the floor next to my feet and he's managed to fhuffle and roll the 4 feet over to me in the time it's taken to write this. Oh, now it's Top Gear! Best go rescue the remote :haha:

**note to self**

Must buy paddling pool! We used to have one for the dog but I can't remember what happened to it - drat! :dohh:

Flora: Thanks, she loves the camera bless her; shame I can't afford one :( Gutted. They asked if they could use her pictures for advertising, maybe I can trade! :haha:

Aimee: I know what you mean about the sun - obv being a red head its my enemy lol SO CHloe has factor 50 cream, in the shade and sun hat to boot!

Main reason why I didn't car boot today, was worried she would be out in the sun far too long.

Well I went out in the end. I was going to go then Chloe poo'ed all over and got it on my only pair of jeans (and her moo cow which is now on the washing line!) So my sis said get my butt to supermarket and she pay be back for jeans too. IT was a real nice meal and evening and Chloe had a great time too.

Mornin' loves!

Well lil miss is so much better today. Thanks for the well wishes. I think we could have had our professional pictures done to day rather than postpone them, but then you know Murphys law .. she's be still sick. Plus the photographer has a lil boy and I didn't want her taking it home to him.

Her fever is still a little high, but she's eating and playing now rather than laying on the floor groaning to her self.

Kaites ~ No rash yet. Ped said they don't always get one, but don't be alarmed if she does, it will go away by its self. But then her fever is still there .. she said it will come after the fever goes.
12 foot is huge! I think you should come set it up in my garden haha. I got Autum a lil 46 inch wide paddling pool from Dollar General. It is deep up to her belly button. As long as she's in water she don't care!

Aimee ~ Oh exciting Earl will be crawling soon! Once lil miss got on her knees, it took 2 weeks of rocking before the first 'steps' where taken, she took 4 and then splatted out on the floor like Bambi on ice haha. Go on Earl!!! Loving the pictures of him :)

Kte ~ I'd be pissed too re your plans. Kinda inconsiderate of your sister not to let you know, what would have happened if Chloes bedtime was early at 6pm? grr!

Flora ~ Hope the BBQ went well!

I was thinking today, I wonder where all the Bumpkins have gone. We used to have a big ol group of us!

Oki I have a lil video for you all ;)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6KV4LrMX3w

Chaos, that video is awesome!!!! Go Autumn! :happydance: I'm with Kaites though, I kinda hope Harry doesn't get crawling or walking just yet as my house is a baby nightmare right now with cables, paint, plaster etc... :dohh:

Hello ladies, I haven't been on here for ages, thought I would have a wee look at what you were all up to.

Chaos that video is AMAZING!!!

The reason I came on was to see what all the babies Rory's age were doing.

He is 7 months old and.......not actually doing very much :(
He is bright and alert and babbles away, but not very interested in solids and shows no signs of sitting up by himself, let alone crawling!

Is anyones elses baby not doing these things yet?!

Mornin' Girls,

Well we've had a restless night here, lil miss kept waking up every couple hours last night, finally waking up properly at 2am, I brought her down stairs and we both fell asleep about 3. She was kicking and arching her back a lot and I kinda thought it might be trapped wind as she'd calm when I rubbed her belly. Well this morning it was confirmed when she did the loudest fart and got a 'woah, what the hell' look on her face :haha:

Flora ~ I know! As much as its great she's crawling, she's in to freaking EVERYTHING! She has an obsession with my laptop cord too. I can't count how many times I lift her up and put her back on the other side of the room away from it a day!!

Mrs029 ~ Sorry you're feeling a bit discouraged.
I found this lil chart about that lists what 'should' a baby be doing month by month. It's only a guideline tho so I'd not put too much in to it. Each baby is different.
https://www.babycenter.com/milestone-charts-birth-to-age-3
Have you taken Rory to the Dr and voiced your concerns?
My friend has a little boy who is just a year old and he's not crawling yet, he just learned to sit up. He's bright as a button tho. She took him to the Dr who sent him to physio and they said there's nothing wrong with him, he's just what they call a 'floppy baby' to were his muscle tone is not as developed, but it will resolve its self. She takes him to a lil baby gym weekly now to help him develop it.
Keep us updated!! :)

man, my legs are driving me INSANE. I went to my friends yesterday afternoon to let the baby play in the paddling pool with her son and the gnats there ate me alive. I have 6 bites on my right leg and 3 on my left. And I'm one of those people who get big ol welts. Gah! MUST NOT ITCH.

Ok lil miss wants her porridge!

ETA: I did some googling for you and came across these sites with the same kinda question as you re sitting. Hope they help some!!:

Interesting times ... not long after I posted on here re Monty biting while BF, he went on a BF strike. For the best part of 48 hours he refused to feed directly from me, literally screaming every time he so much as saw me unclip my BF bra. However, he would drink expressed milk (expressed that same time, so obviously flavoured the same as whatever was in me) from a bottle (a bit of a godsend actually, as it's so long since we gave him a bottle, we weren't sure he'd take one any more).

Friday night I was up in the middle of the night expressing because he wouldn't take from me. He then, on the hottest day of the year so far, decided he didn't want to drink any milk at all, whether expressed or direct from me. He barely slept and he was very, very quiet. And yet, bizarrely, he was still happy to try some solids and to take a little water from his Doidy cup. Then I started to panic because his nappy was almost dry after six or so hours on Saturday. We had friends up and he was happy enough playing with them, and to see him responding to them it was like there was nothing up with him at all. Then we had an absolute screamer of a going-to-bed session, so he didn't end up sleeping until after 8pm. He then gave us the best night we'd had in ages - just a single feed in the night, off me this time, and then straight back to sleep until 6am. Then Sunday, we had something similar, although he started tentatively to feed from me again. There was absolutely NO chance of him giving in and having a nap in the afternoon, despite showing all the tired signs. He finally gave in at 5pm and snatched half an hour. Then we had another hour-long screaming session at bedtime, followed by a huge sleep until 5am. (Just a shame OH and I didn't make the most of enjoying the sleep - instead we were having an extremely quiet row, about the same thing we keep rowing about every bloody day. Although I THINK we may finally have started to get somewhere so that's definitely good...)

Then this morning I thought I'd try Monty in his new cotbed for his morning nap. He fell asleep BF, just as though he'd never even stopped BF, so I popped him fast asleep in the cotbed and there he slept, entirely happily, for an hour and a quarter. When he woke he was all smiles and certainly very relaxed about being in the cotbed.

I can only assume that there's a big developmental thing going on. Is there one around this age (nearly 7 and a half months now)?

I have to say, during the biting and then the BF strike, I seriously assumed that I'd be buying formula, bottles and teats today. And you know what, one of the reasons that means I've persevered and not given in? ... well, the only organic formula sold in the UK has just changed status from veggie to non-veggie. Well done, manufacturer, you've probably just lost yourself quite a few customers there.

Enough of me. Chaos, wicked video :-) Mrs O, Monty isn't crawling or rolling over yet. Aimee, gorgeous pix of Earl in the sun.

Oh someone PLEASE help me. She's figured out that if she squishes Tiggers right hand he will bounce around and sing. ARGHH. I thought it was an accident at first, but she's done it 5 times in a row now and things its UBER funny. These toys are gonna torment me to death haha.

I think I might have to hide him

Colsy ~ Question .. have you got, or are you due on your period yet? That can cause BF strikes cause the hormones change the taste of the milk.
Glad he's feeding again! I think its about time you put some pics up of him! ;)
