Mornin' girls!

Thanks for the complements on my pictures! :) I do love to take pictures. Always wanted to do photography, just never got round to it. DH said he might be able to get me a new camera with his next bonas. We'll see!

Well it's 730 and we just got back from our morning walk. I've had to start earlier before the sun actually rises cause if not its SO hot and humid out. At night the temp sits about 78F, and its at that when we go out about 6am. As soon as that sun comes up its hits the 80s by 8am and is at 100% humidity! Phew!!

I like to take the baby out for a walk first thing because it helps her morning nap. Yesterday she napped for a total of 2 hours ALL day. 1 hour in the am (which is normal) and 1 hour in the after noon .. which is shorter than her normal 2 or 3 hour pm nap! I put her but to bed by 6pm last night and she slept thru to 545. This kid is gonna make me a mornin person  :coffee:

We got a colours playdate today with my mamas. Gonna take some pictures of the kids and make some fathers days cards, then prob go for a swim to beat this heat!!

Colsy ~ Sorry to hear Monty isn't well!! You handled it better than me, if Autumn was limp I'd have been on the phone hysterically calling an ambulance lol Dreading the 'first' A&E trip!!

How many naps does Monty take a day? Maybe you could cut him back to 2 a day, one for the AM and one for the PM. What the HV says makes sense to me, it's why I don't let lil button nap after 3 or she wants to stay up later till like 8 and then cause she's stayed up late she has a really unsettled night, odd.

Ok I need some breakfast before I eat my arm!

I wasn't hysterical, because I told myself 'Look, he's sick, everyone gets sick, just see how the next few hours go before losing it'. If anything, I was sad, because he had such a sad look on his face that I just wanted to cry for him. However, I DIDN'T cry because obviously he needed me to be strong and do useful things for him, so somehow I held on in there.

Re napping, nowadays he tends to have two naps, one AM and one PM. Both can be anything from an hour up to almost three hours (although an hour and a half is usually the norm). It's quite hard to reduce how often he goes for a nap because he does show all the sleepy signals after a max of being awake three hours since the last night - and of course, once you head into the realms of overtired, all sorts of nasty things happen, most particularly the refusal to nap at all (as has literally just happened, so OH is taking Monty out for a loooong walk while I'm working). I guess we'll have to try waking him up if his naps get too long, although I have to say I hate waking up a sleeping baby, it just seems wrong!

Noah seems to of dropped his naps for power naps  im lucky to get 20 minutes out of him even in the cot. He will nap longer in the pushcahair, managed an hour this morning while I pushed him around. It's hot today, I must start wearing shirts rather than jeans.

Sorry Maffie, gotta laugh - got this image of you trying to get your feet through the armholes of your shirts, LOL

Colsy, Harry has just 2 naps a day now (he used to have 3 or 4) & they last about 40-90mins at a time, and he is sleeping well at night, usually waking once (either 1am ish or 4am ish) sometimes twice (around 1am & 5am ish if it's twice) then sleeps through till OH gets up for work (when he's not working away) or till about 9/10am (!!!! Love it !!!!) if it's just me in the house. If we're out & about in the car for more than 20mins at a time, he will sleep in the car too, but wake immediately once we've stopped moving. I think him increasing the amounts of solids he's taking & sleeping less (but good quality sleep, not restless sleep) during the day has definitely contributed to his better sleeping patterns. Not saying it will work for Monty for sure, but it has for Harry!

Neon, no probs; it's hard to take a backseat with the weaning, and I get frustrated when he wastes whole meals by lobbing them across the room, then laughing coz he thinks it's funny (I hate seeing good food go to waste), but I know that if he was really hungry, he would eat pretty much anything & I do get kinda fascinated watching him figure out how to pick slippery things up, or the way he hides food down the side of his leg in his high chair, then comes back to it when there's nothing left on the tray, and the way he tries to latch on & lick/suck the edge of the tray if there are sauces on it still- cracks me up! Thom will get there in his own time. I find singing keeps Harry relaxed when eating & mimicking noises he makes, copying his chewing action etc, which imo, all help to reinforce the fun in food & how yummy things can be & how every meal is kinda like a mini adventure in a way & a discovery of how hands & mouths & food feel, squish, taste, move etc... I keep trying to remind myself that it's still so alien for a baby to be presented with all these bright coloured, different textured things & learn what & how they're meant to act around them, iykwim?

Aimee, glad to hear your dad is getting a bit better & that things are going better with the move too. Are you still moving to Norfolk?

OH has just announced he's having a couple of old school friends (& there labrador puppy!) are coming round this weekend for a BBQ get together... So I will now be spending the rest of the week blitzing the hbouse, changing bedding, tidying, dusting, and yet more painting (it feels never ending), so they dont think I'm a lazy SAHM slob!!! Anyone else got any plans?

EDIT: Colsy, hope Monty is back to his usual self soon & that it was just a quick bug that's now out of his system! :hugs:

Thanks Flora. Ain't it funny how they wake up the MINUTE you park the car or the pram? The only time Monty doesn't do this is when I absolutely need him to wake up, say if we're going swimming and we've just arrived at the pool with ten minutes to go before the class starts. Gosh, you're very lucky with Harry sleeping til 9 or 10 in the morning. What time does he go to bed at night?

BTW, is anybody on here dreamfeeding? We have never done this, but now and again I think maybe it's a good thing to do as perhaps it'll help Monty go just that little bit longer through the night. But it seems to me most people are giving up dreamfeeding at 8months rather than starting it.

Just realised, my li'l pudd'n is eight months today. EIGHT months! Where did that go?

awww, Happy 8 months Monty! :)
Harry goes to bed by 8pm, but sometimes he crashes by 7pm. I just try to look out for his sleep signals any time after about 6:30 & go from there. If I try to put him down before he's showing signals he will wimper & cry out & then I feel bad, lol, but definitely by 8pm, he's soundo!!! Yeah, it's heaven when he sleeps till 10am- I feel so refreshed on days like that, because I'm soooooo not a morning person, but OH is- it's why I love the weekends he's home coz he gets up with harry & lets me stay in bed till 11am, lol. :)
Re the dreamfeeding, I dont do this, but have been wondering about it to see if will help him drop the 1am feed. My sister always used to dreamfeed her 2 & swears by it, though another one of my friends did it & all it did was teach her baby to wake up at that time & deman a feed! :dohh:

Happy Wednesday!

Hope everyone is having a good day :) Not too much going on today- yesterday hubby had the day off work so it was nice having someone else around to help with Emma since she's been a bit of a handful lately. Finally tried to talk to hubby about his lack of help with Emma/around the house lately- it sort of all boiled over when we were trying to sort out that stupid oversized paddling pool in the yard yesterday and hubby said "why are you always so emotional with this pool?!" Argh, I wish I had been more eloquent but I basically just went on the offensive and I went off on a rant about him not mowing the lawn, not helping with Emma's basic needs that he could be helping with (baths and diaper changes) and my lack of sleep lately. I think I just came off as a whiney, demanding bitch which pisses me off even more since the main issue I had was him coming home and doing nothing to help with Emma and somehow I ended up being the unreasonable one :growlmad: He had the nerve to suggest that I should get out of bed before Emma gets up so that I can have some "me" time, even if it means I'm tired later in the day- umm, yeah, that's real helpful- so I'm beyond regular tired when she's up half the night and I'm even more likely to lose my temper and take it out on Emma while he sleeps through it all. Anyway, sorry to vent- I know it's trivial compared to what some of you ladies are going through atm...

Colsy- Happy 8 mths Monty!! I hope he's feeling better today :hugs: Emma's sleep is all over the place still- she'll have a couple nights of decent sleep and then we'll have a night like last night where she's up from 1am-3am :( She'd fall asleep for like 5mins and then wake herself up thrashing in her crib, like she had restless legs or something and then not be able to resettle on her own  I'm convinced it's a developmental thing at this point since she's so busy trying to learn to crawl and cruise at the same time during the day and at night when I've been both walking her and feeding her, she's kicking her legs like she can't stop tryign to figure out how to use them. That's interesting about what the HV said- I've read that some babies need less sleep than others. Emma often sleeps best at night when she's only had one brief nap and then goes to bed late- argh, I need her to nap more than that so I get a break, lol :) Other than last night, how's Monty's sleep been lately? I'll be interested to hear how a later bedtime works for you guys. I've sort of tried to dream feed Emma if she's fallen asleep on me in the evening, before I put her down in her crib but it hasn't worked- she needs to be awake to start feeding

Neon- We sometimes do picnics on the floor with Emma, covering the floor with an old bedsheet, when she's not interested in eating in her highchair. Hasn't happened too often, but she seems to find it fun  Hope Thom's gums aren't bothering him anymore!

Aimee- Glad to hear that your dad is doing better :hugs: We use the aquarium supply store as an aquarium since we don't have one in this city and we always see lots of other parents doing the same- have fun at the pet store, lol :)

Kte- how's Chloe's eye doing now?

Maffie- your post cracked me up too :) I had visions of you deciding if you were going to go either topless or without jeans  Topless would make BFing easier :haha:

Chaos- Have fun at your playdate!

Flora- Enjoy your BBQ weekend! I think we have similar plans, and my parents and BIL are coming over on Saturday for a BBQ, weather permitting. I'll be cleaning and mowing the lawn too- bleh!

LK- hope James has a better night tonight!

Sorry if I missed anyone! Hope we're all well :hugs:

Is anyones else's LO back to the clingy stage? Chloe did it around 3 months and all of a sudden over the weekend has started again. I though it was since she was off nursery but her personal nursery person has said she has started to be clingy to her as well. So its just me and her she wants to stick with. Hoping she comes out of it as nursery person is off on holiday next week, it may help.

Colsy: Happy 8 months Monty! :happydance: I kind of do still dream feed, although its harder to catch her que now she is in a different room but I usually get there before she has fully woken up iykwim. I'm just going to do it until she drops a feed, I don't give her one is she doesn't show me she is hungry.

Kaites: Hug, its totally not trivial, its very frustrating :hugs: Hope he listens and helps a bit more, its such a hard subject to approach in a way I think, things are okay then all of a sudden your in a routine you didn't realise and aren't fully happy with.

Chloe's eyes are better thanks, it started in one then both had it. Her eye drops helped but had to give them 4 times a day, they were stored in the fridge so a bit too cold for her liking but she soon forgave me :)

Maffie: Was a good typo :haha:

Flora: Seriously, just pop a few posts you have put on here about what you have been up to, just dott them around the house for your guests to peruse, they will soon see how your not a lazy SAHM!!

No major plans for the weekend yet, Nij is working Sunday so think we moving fathers day to Sat :haha:

Chloe: Hope you and the ma,mas and obv LO's have a good time :)

Maffie - it took alot of chatting and the fact that Tom is such an easy person to trust. He has been hurt before so he knows how it feels. You will get there. Just give yourself time hun :hugs: and PM me any time if you need to rant :)

Had to have a nap this evening im just exhausted. Noah has been a little monkey today. He's being a bit clingy but I cant have that with needing to work soon.
Im sick of these injections im taking already, I didnt bruise alot last time but im getting massive bruises this time.
I feel a bit whingy myself tonight sorry

Kaites no comment men make surprises me anymore the get up earlier to have 'me' time is a classic male brain response.

I accidently knocked a display over in M & S today :dohh: got the pram into the baby section (mum was getting me some vests as we've used all I had here in 2 days) and I got stuck the way I went in had been blocked and the aisle out was too small. The manager came over to help and was so lovely. I felt so embarrassed to pretty much knock a whole display over but he said he had seen how much I was struggling to fit through a gap we didnt fit through and he was so apologetic and helpful. He started to get staff to rearrange things as another lady with a pram didnt fit either. Excellent customer service

I forgot what else I was going to type :dohh:

Oh dear Maffie lol. I'm forever knocking things off shelves....that and James decides anything he can reach is his for the taking so if I'm carrying him I have to regularly check he doesn't have a handful of merchandise lol.

lol Chloe nearly helped herself to a bucket and spade set the other day

I hate how shops can be so unfriendly for prams.

EDIT: double post, my comp keeps on coming up with database error too for B&B :growlmad:

Morning all, well Noah has learned a few new tricks. He keeps wriggling on his belly to the edge of the sofa to put his feet on the floor. Then laughs when he's managed it. :haha:

I'm sure he's going to bypass the crawling and just opt for the walking

Mornin' girls!

Well when I woke up yesterday my right eye felt a bit itchy and was a lil bit blood shot. I thought nothing of it, because this sometimes happens if I've slept on my arm and an eyelash has irritated my eye in the night and normally goes in a couple hours. Well I was out the house by 9, did some running around and then went to the play date. At about 1ish my friend said "what have you done to your eye?" I was like, "huh?" .. so I went and looked in the mirror and it was all red bloodshot and swollen!!
On my way home I popped to the Dr and they said I have freaking pink eye!!! (Conjunctivitis) Blah. If I had known I would have never gone to the play date with all those little kids. Anywho I now have eye drops for it.

I tell ya, I've never got so many sickness than I have since I've had a kid. I never used to get sick.

So I'm banned to the house until it clears up, which sucks cause there are playdates and birthday parties this week :(

Autumn made me laugh yesterday, she was playing on the floor with a toy and then two of the toddlers (boy and girl) came a long and got interested in it. Well it came to, the 3 of them tug of warring over it! An 8 month old and two 18 months old! I think my kid is gonna be a tom boy haha.

Oh and all she says at the moment is "Dadadadadadadadadada" Pfffft!!!

Colsy ~ Nope, not dream feeding, although is she's eaten her dinner with particular gusto, I'll give her a couple more ounces after her bath/before bed.

Kaites ~ Oh I feel you with the melt down at the OH, two week ends ago I had one at mine. It was like all of a sudden he just came in and admitting he would feed her and put her to bed, but that was it. He used to wash all the bottles for me at night to help me in the morning, he used to help me clean the house at the weekend by pushing the hoover around. It had stopped! I got SO mad and basically told him he was a prick for breathing .. it didn't help that lil miss had that cold and wasn't sleeping which = me not sleeping. I'm a total arsehole when I'm tired and it just all got on top of me.
Needless to say now the bottles are washed at night, he puts the dishwasher on for me, pushed the hoover around twice in the week and did all the laundry at the weekend!

Ok I need some breakfast

Morning all :flower:

I really didn't want to send Chloe to nursery today, she was her usual morning chirpy self and I just though I can't wait until the weekend when I get to spend more time with her.

I have been sifting through old photo's these last few days (attempting to decorate the bedroom but OMG there is so much rubbish tucked under the bed!) I had about 10 albums and have now got 3 :haha: Anywhoo, was looking and saw her 26 wk scan pic that was on 19th June last year, so amazing!

Chaos: Don't worry, im sure they would of got it another way somehow, they may still be fine. Hope it clears up soon for you :flower:

Hope everyone is having a good day :) We had a better night's sleep last night  My parents dropped round this morning for their "Emma fix"- they are coming over tomorrow to babysit while I am out for my medical assessment (one of the hoops I have to jump through in setting up the home daycare) but couldn't wait another day. I'm hoping all these little visits mean that Emma is comfortable being left with them for a while  I think I should tackle mowing the lawn this aft- hubby said he'd do it, but we're supposed to be going to the zoo and having family over on Saturday, so I don't see it getting done unless I do it. One of my best friend's announced she's pregnant again- her son is 6 mths older than Emma.

Maffie- Sounds like Noah is getting more mobile in his own way :) Emma is always going over the edge of the couch too- just head first :dohh: I have to keep a hand on her ankle as she tries to crawl around because eventually, she always tries to venture over the edge.

Kte- Sounds like Chloe really enjoys nursery :) re: clinginess, I think Emma was clingier a few weeks ago too. tbh, I can't remember if it was when she was starting to get sick but I kinda think it was before that. Generally she is a clingy kid to start with, but it's a bit better now. I hope next week goes okay when her favourite nursery lady is away :hugs:

Chaos- Hope your eye clears up quickly :hugs: Glad to hear it's not just me and my OH, lol :) He started off pretty helpful after Emma was born and he's pretty much gradually slacked off more and more ever since. I hate having to nag him like a teenager but he's doing less than he did before she was born so I think it just reached a boiling point. I think the meltdown may have helped a little though- he played with Emma for an hour before dinner yesterday so I could go upstairs and sew and have a break.

Any special father's day plans?

Well what a day.

I get woken up at the butt crack of dawns mother to 3 cats racing around the house, a crying baby and my phone screeching because it's running out of juice.

I'm banned to the house all day cause of this stupid eye, and then this afternoon I walked in to the toy room and what do I see? My child, who when I walked out the play room, was wearing a white onsie, covered head to toe in shitty handprints. My wooden floors .. shitty handprints. :dohh:

She's been rubbing her left eye a lot today, I'm hoping she don't get what I got .. she's also got a terrible outbreak of nappy rash again, which only means one thing .. MORE TEETH!! Cause thats the only time she gets it!

Well it's now just gone 5pm and she's fed, bathed and in bed. She normally don't go to bed till at least 6pm but she was absolutely exhausted (so am I!)

Shesh, I need a beer or 4!!!

Kaites ~ Glad you got some sleep =)

Kte ~ Aww, I was looking at Autumns old scans the other day, so insane how quick it's all gone.

Ok, I'm finally gonna hop in the shower for today!!
