Bumps2be2011

i'm watching it to. I'm sure the month's will fly and we will be soon be talking about xmas again x

I love one born every minute! OH was fascinated by the lady who's belly was moving he was like wow will yours do that?! And he said do all labours hurt like that? Bless him lol he says he can't wait until it's us though :) xx

i missed it :( OH wanted 2 watch something else,

how is everyone???
i went to a staff party last night im still hanging :(

Morning,

I'm going to watch one born every min later on on catch-up. Hubby had to watch Prison Break on DVD last night. *roll eyes*

I hardly read any books before we started to TTC the 1st time. I think I bought one book, can't think of the name now, which is about the conception, pregnancy and the life after. lol Gonna check later what it was called.

I spoke to my mate yesterday, she had her daughter 2 weeks ago...OMG the labour from hell. 36 hours of labouring and then the whole thing ended in a c section. Defo feeling for her. But hey she defo wants a 2nd one. lol

I'm gonna go swimming with the munchkin after his morning nap. I'm not sure if I'm excited or nervous. lol Wish me luck. x

Does it worry anyone else the amount of births on OBEM that end in a c-section? And in general as well - 4 of my friends have had their first babies in the last year, and 2 of them had to have c-sections. That's half! Really turns me off of a hospital delivery xx

yeah i scares me too, i really dont want to ever have a c-section, there was me and 3 friends that had babies last year 2 was natral 2 was a section :(

im gonna meet my friend and her baby today :D

Just seems like they jump in there with the c-section whenever something is not quite "normal," but have such a narrow concept of what normal is that only the minority fulfill it. I can see that there are obviously cases where intervention is entirely necessary, but it should be up to the mum - And did anyone see them get the consent of the mother on last night's episode?? xx

It certainly worries me! From working in Womens and Childrens though, and with that lady being a category one c section there must have been a major clinical reason to need to do it so quickly. I don't think they show you the full picture on the programme only the highlights so to speak! I really really don't want a c section though and I think it would take a lot to convince me otherwise, like a lot of mums have them with breach presentation babies now, I was breach and my mums first baby, and she still had me naturally! I think it depends on the circumstances. Defo don't want one though!! Xx

I was saying that about breach babies to my OH yesterday actually, as a friend of ours is 2 weeks off her due date and bubs is not engaged and so she has been told she'll have to have a compulsory c-section if baby is still breach come due date. I couldn't believe it!! My mum had my brother naturally, and he was breach. She only had a 3 hr labour with him as well, so obviously no complications. I can't understand why the situation would have changed so much. xx

i had a c-section because of pe . i was 36 weeks and they tried to induce me 3 times but he was quite happy where he was. i could of waited but could of been in there till i was 38 weeks and still it could of ended up being a c-section as im diabetic. I really hope my next one is a normal birth fingers crossed. hope your all ok?x
anna-i want to take caleb swimming soon, when did you start taking joseph?
i think the only thing i read was that book they give you from midwife and reading what other people said on here.
whats everyone upto?xx

Just finished work! Nice early finish for me today! What's everyone else up to? Hope you're all having a good day xx

Well, pink, today would have been his 1st time.

I'm fuming...I went all the way to Tidworth on the bus with Joe in his carrier and a backbag with all our swimming stuff. Arrived at the leisure centre and told the lady that I would like to go swimming with LO. She looked at me like I was from some strange planet and said "oh you wanna go to Aqua Tots, Aqua Tots is not on today, we got a party". I replied "no i don't wanna go to aqua tots I just want to give my son a taste for the pool and splash around a bit". She said "well you have to join aqua tots then, at any other time the small pool is shut!" WTF? :dohh: So I have join a couple of other mums with their children (who can be up 3 yrs) to do exercises in water, when all I want to do it splash around with Joe for a bit?!:nope: I'm not a happy bunny. I've never heard of such crap, when I wanna go swimming in Germany with my child, I go to the pool and say one adult and one child, pay, get changed and go swimming and ALL the pools will be open.
I don't wanna join a group, if that makes sense. I just wanna have some fun with him in the water. I might not be that annoyed with she would be at least nice about it, but she was a right b*tch. :growlmad:

Well we went home and had a nice cuddle in bed and fell asleep together. :winkwink:

Honestly I'm not worried at all that I end up having a c-section. If it has to happen then it has to happen. In my mates case she had a massive fever (40 and above) and they were really worried they would lose her and baby, so having a c-section was the natural thing to do.

Ppl who have a planned c-section are the ones who I find most disturbing?! What's the point? It takes all the fun of being in labour and the wonder of giving birth away from you. Plus you're in agony after for weeks. Don't get me wrong I walked like John Wayne for a couple of days after having Joe, but that was a few days and not weeks.
My mate for example now got an infection, which would risk all that just to have the baby on a certain date. It seems very fashionable in the states for some reason, but I got the feeling that many more mums over here in the UK opt for it as well...I can't see any reasons for that be honest. It's surgery...not fun.
For medical reason, fair enough, but just for convience?! No way.

I agree, I think elective c-sections are an odd thing. Part of the designer baby trend. It could potentially be such a selfish decision as well, obviously only when made for the wrong reasons. As you say, having a c-section just to have baby on a certain date is ridiculous - surely waiting is part of the fun?! My aunt had to have a c-section due to a weak cervix with her youngest, and it put her out of action for a few weeks... can't imagine chosing to start my first few weeks with a new born like that

I have had a productive day today (NOT) been so unmotivated!! Have had a bad back which has not helped - lots of vegging out on the sofa haha xxx

Actually somebody suggested to me to have a planned c-section. Hubby was deployed to Afghan while I was pregnant and he was suppost to be back out there on my due date (but the army decided last min to leave him at home - thank god lol), but because of that this girl (an army gf herself) suggested to have a c-section while he was on R&R. :dohh::dohh::dohh:
Like you said...I didn't fancy starting off my life with my new baby in agony.

i think because caleb had been in special care for the first 2 weeks i didnt really notice the pain as i was on the go all the time. but as soon as i was home with him and was resting the scar did hurt and if you have to rest how are you supposed to carry or hold a baby. hopefully #2 will be a normal delivery.
anna sorry you didnt go swimming.
how is everyone tonight x

Anna that is so annoying about swimming!! I'd of been angry lol. Especially when you went all that way. Is there another leisure centre nearby anywhere?

Is everyone ok today? I'm just on my way to work! Can't believe it's Thursday already, I'm so ready for the weekend! A weekend of housework this weekend I think, got so much ironing to catch up on and lots of bills to file away instead of shoving them on top of microwave haha xx

Tidworth is the nearest leisure centre....here in Bulford is an army swimming pool which I could use but they just got the big pool.

I'm off to Amesbury with Joe after his nap, I need to go the butcher and maybe get a little snack from the bakery. lol Yummy.
