How many of you have to drink some soda throughout the day?

I always heard that when your pregnant you can't drink soda at all.

For some reason I have this misconception that drinking caffeine free drinks, are ok.

I just assume if it's caffine free, then the soda would be ok too.

I admit to having one 1/2 a cup of soda. I don't drink it everyday, maybe like 3 times out of a week. I get tired of the water and juices all day.

To tell the truth I really don't like juices anymore, it's too too "sweet" all of a sudden.

Even though I say I get tired of the water and juices. I don't neglect drinking my water, because I know it's more important than any juice or sodas.

I just gotta have some soda.

If anyone has some info, or they think drinking soda 3 times out of a week is too much. Please let me know. I'm listening.... I need all the info I can get.

If your going through the same thing please share.

I would ask your Dr. But Its my understanding that a drink of soda here and there is ok (caf. free) But its best to drink water, milk, ect....

Well there's a certain amount of caffeine that you can have a day. I can't remember how many miligrams though. But just make sure that you check your juices and pops DO NOT have aspartame in it. Artificial sweeteners are not recommended during pregnancy... Just do some research or call your doctor. But I think 3 sodas in just ONE WEEK is just fine :) But not 3 in one day! Hope that helps

I haven't changed my diet at all since becoming pregnant. I still eat/drink whatever I want and my LO is growing fine and doing great. I probably drink 1-3 20oz bottles of soda a day  . The only thing I would change is drinking more milk I think. I hate the taste of milk, but I need the calcium. I am starting to get tooth aches, and people say thats why (also because I dont take my vitamins).
My BP is always great, my LO is growing great and appears perfectly healthy, doc says my weight gain is fine, and my sugar tests even came back normal; I'm not too worried about it.

I tend to drink caffeine free coke and i occasionally have hot choc, and tea and i've been ok

Thanks for everyones input on this matter.

I still won't overdue it though. Just as long as I can have a little, I'm good.

Here is a little article on soda and pregnancy. It gives 4 reasons for avoiding it while pregnant. Sugar, caffeine, empty calories and carbonation interfering with calcium.
