Cake cookbook recommendations?

I don't know whether it's to do with being pregnant but I really want to bake at the moment despite having done no baking since school!! I've had a look at some of Delia's recipes but I want a book dedicated to cakes/biscuits/puddings - sweet stuff in general!

Have you got any recommendations? It's my birthday next month and it's just the kind of thing I can suggest to someone who wants to buy me something but doesn't know what to get!

hiya if you look in the cake n baking thread there are some recipies also the second to last page one of the girls mentioned a cookbook -- primrose cupcakes r something like that xx

I would strongly recommend the be-ro book.

They cost £1.50 including postage from the be-ro website (go to the about us bit)

I'll probably send off for the Be Ro once since it's so cheap! Not sure about the Cupcake one though because that's more specific than I'm ideally looking for.

Any other recommendations?

I don't tend to use a lot of cookbooks as I just search online when I want a recipe.
