Hi!

It depends on a few different things. Would you want people to have a desert sized portion or a finger portion?

If it's Finger then you'd need 10"/7"/4". If it's Desert you'd need at least 12"/9"/6".

Then it depends on the level of detail you'd like.

I'd say as a rough guide you'd be looking to pay at least £20/tier minimum purely for ingredients (top quality) and materials (board, ribbon, drum, dowels) So then you'd need to add on top the charges made by the person making it, so then it depends on their level of experience and how long it would take them to make.

This one is a Marks and Spencer cake. If you went to a specialist cake shop/maker you'd probably pay more. Unless of course you got mates rates:thumbup:

I've now placed an order with a local company for a 3 tiered cake for £165 which I was really pleased with :)

haha i remember you saying you liked things with cupcakes on!! i dread to think i bet your whole trolley was full of lovely little bits!!
 
I wish i could afford it to be full of lovely cupcake bits!

I now have a kiddies plate/cup and little plastic bottle....they have cupcakes and a cupcake fairy on them!!!! LOL
 
The cake i made to congratulate my dad and stepmum on her pregnancy (they are still on team yellow lol) and the uncovered one i made for us is in the background :)

With a lot of patience! :lol:
Just rolled out a thick tube and tried to get it as even as possible, and then used my icing smoother to flatten the edges and sides. Then i measured how high it was (2 1/2 cm) and then cut along it 2.5cms along with a really sharp knife. Then i shaped it with my fingers to make it perfect.
:rofl: Im a bit obsessive about things like that :) xxx
