how did u get the cake so high? is it 2 cakes on top of each other?

It's marvelous btw- I LOVE the hungry caterpillar!!

Lovely cakes. How do you get your icing ontop of your cupcakes to look so thick and creamy and white? Did you use a whitner?

I also want to know how you get it so thick and creamy! Do you use the Wilton 1M? x

Yep I use a 1M, I did use whitener on those, but not enough really because I ran out.

It's just one cake. I just make it in a big cake tin and fill it quite full xx

I love this thread, I've picked up so many helpful hints and tips!

I'm making cupcakes for LOs first birthday, I think I need about 40. Just planning on normal sponge with pink and lilac frosting with glitter and sparkles. I'm really excited!
I made some for my friends baby shower to practice, but I did milk and white chocolate frosting and didn't have a nozzle etc, so just spread it on. I'e also learnt not to put the decorations on the day before you need them, as the feet soaked up moisture from the frosting and they looked a bit pants after.

Fab cakes and cuppies girls
I'm going to have a go at cupcake pops, they look soooooo cute :)

I haven't been doing much because of work, just do not have the time although I have had a few cake and cupcake request for the next few weeks that I should be able to manage.

Look what I have found https://cakesunlimited.net/shop/viewcategory.php?groupid=47
£1.95 for a 1M
They don't have a lot on there but the prices are good even postage is good.
I squashed mine with the washing up bowl

I've just had a little play with some Artista Soft and it is amazing!!! So easy to work with and feels all silky and light. I'm using it to make a star fountain topper. I'm not loving using cutters on it as it sicks a little to the metal but I've just messed about with the reminents by making a little pulled rose. So easy I love it! Ridiculously light too, feels like it could just float away!

I've not heard of that before, what is it? Like fondant/regalise?

It's a food safe air dry "clay" Not edible but perfect for making models for the top of cakes

Sounds like it would be perfect for making stuff to put on wires.
Do you have a link to it please x
