It wasnt amazing but I ended up having to make it only in the morning as the first one collapsed over night :hissy: Im no cake maker.

Hmmm they are really small :dohh:

Orange Sox thanks for the idea of a multi coloured cake BTW ;)

Oh wow!! thats really good! How did you get it to stay so steady being its very tall??

Loving the multi coloured cake. What colours do you use? Sugarflair?

It was a broom handle and a small cake circle bit at the top  they were a mixture of sugar fair and wilton :)
Thanks it was ok for a first attempt at a tower but there was SO much I could improve...never happy with your own work though.

I think everyone thinks there is room for improvement with their first cakes but I think thats a seriously wicked job! I love it. Wish I could do big cakes.

Woooooo just passed my food hygiene :happydance: now gotta sort out my kitchen and book the EHO to come over :D

Also got some mini chocolate cheesecakes chilling in the fridge, I made them in muffin cases but I'm thinking of taking the cases off and storing them some other way but haven't had any ideas as to what, anyone seen anything that could be used on their travels around cakey shops?

Have you looked on Ebay? :)

Congratulations on your food hygeine. When I did mine I remember how excited I was when I passed.

I am gonna be doing the birthday ones in pods.. I like pods but transporting them is crazy!

Right ebay here I come! Gotta love ebay!

Here's a cheesecake still in its wrapper :)

Emmy that looks so good! yum yum!

Where did you do your food hygiene? as i'm looking into doing mine and starting to (try to) sell my cakes :)

Yummy! I would like to eat one of those :) I love Ebay. My favourite place :)

0203 - you can do them online... Just google food hygeine, you need a level 2.

Blob that is awesome!

Taking a bit of a break from baking at the moment as I've got rather fat from trying my creations :p will only be baking for actual occasions rather than because I fancy some (more) cake!

 orange sox tonight I made, 30 cinnabons, brownie and raspberry, apple and almond crumble  just to pig on

You never!?! That said... cinnabons, I have no idea what they are but they sound bloody lovely!

Anyone made cake pops? Are they easy?

I wouldn't call them easy... but they're not difficult either.

Sorry, that sounds totally confusing - suppose what I'm trying to say it, if you're making them to taste great, or for something to do with the kids they are pretty foolproof, but if you're making them to look pretty and perfect be prepared to throw a tantrum if it doesn't go perfectly. Could just be me that's a nutter though

They aren't easy. There is a certain knack to it and once you get the hang of it they are quite simple. x

Hmm may try them when OH next has a day off to look after LO before attempting some! Bit scared now lmao :D

Its messy for sure. I made them once and havent done them since but once I get back into the swing of things and everything settles with the girls being with FOB every other weekend I am going to start attempting big cakes and cake pops. You need time. It cant be done while you have other stuff doing too otherwise it just becomes difficult.

Oh dear.

I tried cake pops.

I failed... miserably!!

Here's a picture of my creations -

They either fell apart off the stick or slid down the stick :dohh:

So much for my toffee apple pops...
