Calling all Fur-parents!

i have a really random thing happen...
i know dog hairs get all over, and if you know staffordshire bull terriers you know their fur are like little needles, but seriously...

i have a dog hair stuck in my foot.. like a splinter!!
my foot really hurt when i stood on it, so i looked at my foot, i had 3 hairs sticking out, like half in half out, i pulled them out and it really hurt, but i still have one proper stuck in there.
i had one before, i had to like cut my foot open and tweezer it out, but now i have another -_-

Bentley had severe worms when we got him, literally like he was shitting spaghetti, he did a poop and had some poo out of his bum so he went to Presh's bed and wiped his poo all over it, she went over to it, sniffed it and just pulled her blanket over it and laid on top of it, i was then told she will have done it cos she will have smelt something wrong in his poo and would have covered it then laid on it to stop any potential predators smelling his 'weakness' idk how true that is but its still cute. so yeah these bonded literally within minutes.

This is just too darn cute to think of any other way!

yea it is, as disgusting it is, my youngest (the ginger one) eats any sick that the other 2 do, again i always believe this is them hiding their packs weakness

So jealous your furbabies snuggle! It's taken 3yrs but my babies can all atleast be on the same bed now lol
Does anyone else have non-related pets that snuggle? Was it an immediate bond or did it take awhile for them to get used to each other?

They are the best of friends, and it was pretty immediate. MJ was about 5 when we brought Lola home. We had two amazing dogs at the time who had formed an immediate bond with MJ when we adopted her as a kitten. So she was always around dogs, and I'm pretty sure she thinks she is one. She has NO fear of dogs at all.

My brother has two shepherds that aren't great with cats, and they seem to get that she's not one to mess with because they will go after other cats but act scared if she brings up the paw (we still don't leave them alone or anything!)

Do any cats use their beds? I've bought a few over the years and they never get used! At least they will use the cat condos.

Our female cat who sleeps in the living room sleeps in one and our male cat sleep on my mom's bed.

yeah thats one of my biggest worries, that and having my foot cut open to get it out, thats why its still there, i did mean to mention it to the Dr but i forgot so yeah its still chilling in my foot, idk how it managed to get there its not like i have super soft skin, the skin on the bottom of my feet is actually quite rough, i should just try get it out again and hope they dont return lol, i try my best to keep hairs away but with 3 dogs one of which being crossed with a border collie, its bound to happen, i bet if i were to have them out of the house completely for months i would still be finding hairs everywhere lol

So do most dogs or just certain breeds have these sharp hairs? Makes me scared to get a dog now because I have very soft feet and Im like the princess and the pea story when it comes to things being under my feet! lol

yeah only certain dogs i suppose,
Staffies hairs are like little needles, like on a xmas tree, i think Labradors have quite rough fur, but im not sure ive only ever had bull breeds. now i know border collies have quite soft fur, but a collie x staff has thick hard sharp hairs haha

Just have to share here...after 5 days of being in the hospital I get to go home to my kitties today! Yay! I missed them so much! I thought all the furparents here would understand

Welcome home! I'm sure your babies missed you too. We were gone for our honeymoon 3 nights, 4 days and I missed them sooo much! Couldn't wait to get home. Also, I'm so bad with being away from them I paid for an extra plane seat! We are currently moving to Washington from Hawaii. Initially my OH hadn't gotten his transfer approved yet so he was going to fly with me to WA just to get me settled in and then fly back to HI and stay for one more month. Since we can only take one cat per seat we were going to leave one cat here to stay with him. Well, I couldn't do it! I paid for the extra seat so we could bring all 3 cats at once! Well, in the end it's a good thing we did because OH's transfer came through and he'll be leaving for good when I do and now we have a whole row to ourselves!

I understand! I miss my cat just when I'm at work lol. I'm going to miss him so much when we go overseas next month, he's staying with my MIL and she's going to send me a photo every day

Does anyone know why my cat's cheek would be swollen? Last week my mom bought cheaper cookies than the usual ones and ever since our cat's cheek started to swell. She's since then bought Frisky cat cookies and he still eats his food. I've touched where it's swollen and it feels a bit hard but he didn't react much.

Hmmmm I wonder if its an abscess I remember my cat had what looked like a swollen area under her arm, they thought it was an infection and tried to drain it but nothing came out and it eventually went away, but it wasnt hard. I'd say he might need a vet visit before it does cause him to stop eating, do some googling to see what you can find.

He's still eating and acting more like himself. It looks like the swelling has gone down and now there's a small hole in his cheek. He was scratching at his face earlier too.
