Well, my foster gerbils are gone to their forever home now. They were not pregnant after all. I haven't met their new home, but I do know they have been renamed Elsa and Anna, I think. You know, the characters from Frozen. I haven't actually seen the movie myself
I am now fostering a trio of baby male gerbils. They are so adorable! They were born in foster care so they got lots of human contact. I had them out earlier (in a large box) and one of them kept jumping on my hand as soon as I approached.
The other two are a bit more skittish. I think being separated from their mom was a bit of a shock. They still hide a lot.
One of them is getting adopted already.
I am thinking of being really selfish and adopting the other two. I say selfish because I know they are highly adoptable: they are still babies, different colors (yes, it helps getting them adopted if people can tell them apart!) and so friendly. I just dread the day when that little blond boy will be gone.
If I don't adopt them, I could remain available to foster more gerbils in need.
It's a though decision.
