Calling all stay at home Mummies!!

no its forward facing. they can go into forward facing at about 9kg, 9months, when rear facing is unsafe or when too big for rear facing.

the way i saw it was if OH had to do an emergency stop blake could end up with broken legs as his knees are constantly bent in rear facing seat with feet touching the back of car seat. therefore not safe!

the straps on the car seat go small enought to hold him tightly so obviously he is secure, had the straps not gone small enough i wouldnt dream of putting him in it. as long as you secure it into the car properly and the straps go small enough you should be fine.

a friend of mine has a 4month old girl and she has her in a forward facing seat as she is so long. most ppl thtink she is about 7-8months old cos of her length, she's not huge in weight though.

I think we are going to put M forward facing, he is like a one year old anyway in size, weight and development and he is just far too big and tall for rear facing now!

hi,

hope all are well. everywhere seems so quiet

I am here and fine :) it is quiet! did you have a good time in the lakes?

yes hun, it was lovely. it wasnt as cold as we thought it was going to be even though there was snow on the mountains - will add few pics in min.

IF you are up for a drive, week of 24th july we are going back and stayiing just outside penrith as the kids want to climb mountains instead of building sand castles at local beach!!! be really nice to meet yo if your free.

hows the weaning going?

blake wont eat jars or powdered food, so he has what we have pureed or he has sandwiches with various fillings (cheese spread, jam, marmalade, lemon curd, tuna mayo, marmite), carrot, cucmber, apple, pear, melon in strips or chunks, a few crisps (skips, quavers, "rabbit crisps" (cheap 1s from market like watsits type), watsits - all melt). yoghurts, porridge, toast.

i gave him sauage casserole and mash the other day (broken into small bits) - was sooooo funny he sucked the sausages to death, ate some mash but smeared it all over teh highchair, his face, hair, arms and legs! had to bath him.

HI V and welcome to the group  What does your DH do - those are long hours :( I dread to think what Myles will be like in the terrible twos he can have a good old tantrum now

Amy weaning is going really well thanks, he had roast dinner with us on Sunday (chopped into small bits) and has just had jacket potato with beans and cheese for his lunch, he loves all fruit, fromage frais and yoghurt and toast with marmite, also given him sardines which he likes!!

He is a security guard, he does 12 hrs a day. 6am start 3 days 6pm start 3 nights and 3 days off.

He drives me nuts on his days off, because he messes up my routine lol.

NOt bad having 3 days off in a row though? (except for messing up your routine lol)

Amy forgot to say pics are lovely!

thanks hun. did you see my post about summer?

Can I join you girls?! :flower:

I'm a stay at home mummy as well. I finished college in 2009, moved down to hubby's base and started to search for a job as a Teaching Assistant while we started to TTC. Well I didn't find a job but we got pregnant. :happydance:

Joe is now nearly 8 months old and hubby is totally happy with me staying at home until :baby:#2 is old enough to go to Nursery. We gonna start to TTC for #2 in Summer 2011, so I've got a couple more years of being a happy housewifey and stay at home mummy.

Hi welsh, i remember you from way back in the days we were pg!! course you can join us :hugs: I plan to stay home for at least a couple of years - finances permitting!

Amy yes sorry I did see your message about summer, I am not really confident driving so far though (hate the motorway!) what date do you come back, maybe you could drop by here instead if I am here?

Omg that seems like a lifetime away now. lol But I remember you as well from the trimester sections. How is LO doing?

doesn't it just?! he is fine thanks, can't believe they are almost 8 months old!

Oh god tell me about it, seems like yesterday that I had a massive bump and was in labour screaming at hubby that I defo don't want a 2nd one and now here I am planning number 2. lol
I've got the feeling times goes by so much faster with a baby than before. Just 4 more months and they gonna celebrate their 1st birthday. So exciting.
