Campaign to change spent convictions

Hi guys not sure im allowed to post links etc but here goes and if im considered spamming i apologise in advance.....
A very good friend of mine was murdered in april last year and we have just completed the 3 week trial in which his killer was convicted of manslaughter and got a mere 8 years and because of being on remand and parole etc will be out in 2/3 years we have set up a campaign to try and get the law on spent convictions changed as this man had a previous conviction for a crime involving a knife but because of the amount of time past this was considered spent, we believe any crime involving a weapon should be used in a court of law!!
