Hi all,
I am going back to see my fs next week for a follow up after my lap and dye and feel like I need some ammo. Apparently the reason I can't concieve is because as well as losing the end of right tube I have adhesions to both tubes which are preventing mobility? Also a small fibroid. Ivf was suggested but it would have to be private as I have a child. The adhesions are from my c/s and laparotomy to remove the ectopic. What I need to know is if I have any other options? Could I push for surgery to remove the adhesions as I have read this can be sucessful

Hi huni,
I'm afraid I have no advice just wanted to say I'm so sorry & wish u all the luck on ur ttc journey

xxx:hug:

You could do but I'm not sure what the success rate for that would be unfortunately. Sometimes, the way the adhesions lie would cause even further damage to the tube if attempting to remove them which is why they do not even try. Either that or there is just too much scarring to be successful. You''d need to ask your FS just how extensive the damage is and whether that would be an option but I would've thought they'd have offered that as an option if it WAS a viable option, before IVF. I could be wrong, though. It can't hurt to ask. Would it be deemed elective surgery? Not sure of the cost or if there IS a cost if that's the case.

Thanks CurlySue, I have read it can be sucessful but not offered enough I will ask the fs though. I was hoping so eons on here might know more about it. Well done with 10 embroys that is fantastic. I can't believe how well everyone has done with ivf on here I'm so pleased for you all x

I would have thought they would offer it before stating that IVF is the only option. This is where the confusion came in. If a routine procedure could free up your tube then why not offer it? Then again, FS are hardly the most helpful of sorts.

Aw thanks. I only hope that one of them 'works' so to speak.
