Ask her what programme it is based on (There is a move by the NHS to try Natal Hypnotherapy out, despite the fact the NICE guidelines state that hypnotherapy shouldn't be offered. I think they're starting to see the benefits of using it). Pricewise it's not wildly far out from the cost of one of the Natal Hypnotherapy day courses. The other major thing to find out is what they are going to cover in the 6 hours. It won't be 6 hours of you in hypnosis, that's for sure! What are they going to give you in terms of resources to take away from it? Can you buy/borrow cd's to continue the things covered in the course. That sort of thing. Is that of any help?

Why do they say it shouldn't be used ? She has said that she will tailor it to what I want so breathing, relaxation, get rid of the aniexty

It's because they won't "waste" resources on what they believe to be "ineffective"There is a whole history as to why hypnosis isn't used in a medical setting which goes back to the witch hunts. It's not that they won't use it because there is any negative side effect or anything like that, it's just historical politics.
I'm feeling a bit sad, told my h about it and he raised his eyes and really doesn't get it I've told him I don't expect him to sit through the whole course but an hour or so he understands and can support me. He agreed but very reluctantly and so as not to cause an argument/upset me. Men just don't get it![]()
