Can bbies over-eat?

My LO is nearly 11 months and for abou a week now has been eating like crazy. He is like a bottomless pit!

It seems likeI can keep throwing more and more and more food on the tray and he just keeps on eating.

He is already a big guy and I am worried he might be overeating. But I don't restrict his food of course.

Is this normal? Should I let him eat a much as he want so long as it's healthy food?

Yes, as long as it's healthy (with the occasional treat) then I'd let him have as much as he wants. He knows what he needs and will stop when he's full. I'm often amazed at what my daughter eats. At 10 months, she was eating a whole banana and a whole adult sized bowl of porridge for breakfast - even I don't eat that much! She's even on the small side. But it was just what she needed.

Thanks! He is back to eating normally again, so I think maybe it was a growth spurt!
